I plan on keeping it, unless I find a similar bar that has a bit more sweep to it.
If I was a weight weenie I would go with carbon. I prefer alloy so this one does the trick.
My only problem would be the dimesions, and everybody is built differently so, try it out. for my wrists, I'd like a bit more sweep.
I wouldn't say that it's BETTER than other bars in this price range, but it holds it's own.
Oh yeah, this is the Crowbar "sport" (OEM on the bike) | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$26.00 | | Purchased At: | Agee's (LBS) | | Strengths: | A Good Handlebar. Definately stiffer than my old strait bar.Very nice Rise and Sweep(I got the 40mm(1.5") 5 degree).
| | Weaknesses: | It was A little hard to slide into my old stem. I was afraid I was going to snap my stem in two. But after about an hour of wrestling it I got it on. | | Similar Products Used: | CODA Performance strait Bar | | Bike Setup: | Cannodale hardtail. Upgraded Fatty HeadShock, new pedals(SPD),Bontragar Superstock Wheels,SRAM 9.0 shifters and Derailleurs. | | Bottom Line: | I really Like this Bar. The riser bar sits me up in a much more comfortable position. I am tall -6'2 and I used to feel like I was leaning too far over my front hub. With my old strait bar I had to much weight on my hands. After a long ride my wrists and shoulders would hurt a little. My Crow Bar is great- A bit wider so it opens up my shoulders and I feel like my center of gravity is now where it should be. This Bar really improved my bikes geometry. I took off my old bar ends- I thought I'd miss them , but I feel I can climb a lot better with my riser bar. It is much stiffer than my old bar. I have been able to do some down hill runs that were just too much before - no more endos! I give this bar Five Fat Flamin' Huffys. from Walton FL USA Date Reviewed: March 5, 2001 | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Strengths: | comfort | | Weaknesses: | reduced my control on tight single track | | Bottom Line: | Ok people mountain bikes are designed to put you in a position that distributes your weight for optimal postion. Yeah this isn't the most comfortable position but it gives you the most control. You want weight on your front tire in high g turns or it will slip out, which is a very bad thing. Sure riser bars feel better on your back but the fact is you want your riding postion to put some weight through your shoulders and arms to the front wheel. My trek fuel game with these bars and I'm swapping them out with my strait bars from my old bike. I guess they would be great for riding around town or if you purchased a stem that would lower them to the correct position. Plus, my guess is that flat bars are lighter, and don't make you feel like you're riding a harly. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
