Strengths:Confortable, very grippy, peppers look slick! I've never had any problems with grip when they are wet, and I don't wear gloves either.
    Weaknesses:none
    Similar Products Used:WTB
Bike Setup:fixed gear bike w/ semi-track geometry and flat bar
Bottom Line:Great grips. I pull the hell out of these things banging my fixed-gear all over town, and they never let me down. Buy 'em!

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $10.00
    Purchased At:LBS
    Strengths:Soft and comfortable
    Good grip when dry
    Hold well on the bar
Weaknesses:Sweat makes 'em slippery as heck
    Plugs fit loosely in bars
    Similar Products Used:WTB Dual Compound
    cheap stock grips
Bike Setup:Gunnar Ruffian single speed with Easton EC70 carbon riser handlebar
Bottom Line:My first impression of these grips was pretty positive. They didn't twist at all once installed on the bars, and they felt pretty comfortable. The raised soft rubber peppers and ergonomic shape are nice.

Unfortunately, when my hands start to sweat the grips become completely worthless. They're slippery when wet, even with gloves on. It might not be as much of a problem on my geared bike, but when I'm mashing up a hill on my single speed, I need all the leverage on the bars that I can get. My hands slipping off of the bars makes this very difficult.

Hot, humid days and these gloves don't mix, so two chiles overall. Two chiles for value, because it was $10 flushed down the drain.

    Strengths:comfort, durability
    Weaknesses:twist some on the bar
    Similar Products Used:generic/OEM crap
Bike Setup:hardtail, Profile carbon riser, Prodigy stem, Manitou 100mm, XT crank, 8-speed, BG saddle, Hayes mech discs
Bottom Line:I haven't had a day of regret putting these grips on -- they cushion the hands well, they last, changing out is a little rough (they've been on two bars now), and they do tend to twist just a bit, more so on the carbon bar than the alloy. The end plugs didn't fit the alloy bar, so I had to use expansion plugs (Schwinn BMX) then. But the grips are a worthy investment -- couldn't find the ODI type, would have gotten the best of both worlds! ODI is the only thing I could think of to replace these with.

Bike Setup:Salsa Bandito XT, XTR, Sram.
Bottom Line:I never found a grip that would not slip until Salsa. Plus never had a problem with getting wet. The squares let air pass through, while the very functional chili peppers have excellent bite. I also have the salsa gloves which work well with these grips

    Strengths:[Review for Lock-On model.]
-Lock-On security, ease fo use, installation.
    - +Grip.
    - Wide.
    - Neat and cheeky pepper design that also vent the grip.
Weaknesses:- Wide, Lock-on grips don't fit on cramped riser bars. (WILL SOMEONE FROM GRIP-MAKING LAND PLEASE, PLEASE MAKE GRIPS IN THE DIFFERENT DESIGNS AND CONFIGURATION TO NOT LEAVE GRIPSHIFT USERS BEHIND DAZED AND FUSTRATED. Come on, you can't ignore it that there thousands of gripshift users, $$.)
    - Lock-On starters may be scared off by the premium.
    - Currently only comes in black only.
    - Lock-On's design does not allow dual density grip design for plush feel. (Back to the drawing board peoples.)
Similar Products Used:- Standard (slips like a vaselin-covered bowling ball with bare sweating hands.)
-MICHELIN grips (Ergonomics 101, dual density plushness, grips like hot racing tyres.)
Bike Setup:Fat 30-35lb alloy XC hardtail AVANTI with 2002 ROCK SHOX Judy XC to replace the stock RST fork (Bad, Bad!)
Bottom Line:Outstanding if you don't ride gripshifts.
I'm looking up info on ODI Lock-Ons and they have Lock-Ons in narrower widths. Should swap them.
Lock-Ons are the way of the future if they come in all the design and configurations (dual-density).

Bottom Line:I liked these grips fine until I rode trails today in 95 degree heat. I had to cut my ride short because I could not hang on to these things. If you ride in the heat, these might be ok w/ full finger gloves. I went straight to the bike shop and got some RaceFace good-and-evils.

Strengths:Look mad cool, grippy, feel good on most of the hand, absorb vibes well
Weaknesses:hurts the heel of my hand, a little slippery when wet
Similar Products Used:ODI assault- ah, my nishiki cascade and the early '90s

Bottom Line:Since I'm a big dork (and a big poser) I've got a superman color scheme going on (red, yellow, blue). The grips look mad cool on my bike. I did the look and the feel of the little chili peppers. Like the plugs. My fingers and palms really like these grips. The heels of my hands hurt like none other when riding them though. Even with gloves. Never happened with my ODIs. Overall, I like 'em though.

Strengths:Grip is the perfect size and shape for my hands! The slight bulge in the center conforms to the shape of your hands well. The raised peppers have grip, tackiness and provide comfort against vibration. The bar end caps are soft and fit the ends of your bars easy. They don't budge once their on. Reasonably priced. Nice colors available. Sharp-looking.
Weaknesses:I wish they would last longer but they do last longer than most grips. They will wear out more if you ride w/ them wet. Otherwise they will last 6-7 months w/ everyday hard riding. Hard to get off once their on.
Similar Products Used:WTB, Oury, ControlTech, Titec, GT, Odi
Bike Setup:Trek Bruiser, WTB Moto 2.4, 2.5 Weirwolf, Fox 125R, RF Prodigy DH cranks, Alex Supra E rear wheel, DM24 front wheel. Titec hellbent bar and stem, Deore drivetrain, Haro Mirra seat and those Salsa fuego grips!
Bottom Line:Get them if you have smaller to medium size hands and want comfort. I got them b/c Oury's and Odi Rouge were too thick for my hands. Good for freeride and XC. I highly recommend them! They are almost Perfect and I haven't found a better grip so I must give them 5's all-around!

Strengths:The grippy. Dual Texture. Bump to grasp. Match bar plug. Wet OK. Fast attach to bar. Use the hand with hold. Make not tired hands. Sell color for me to look. Never with the twirling. Always with the having hold. Flange has presence. Having the hold.
Weaknesses:Never find weak. Maybe remove hard. Crash can break brakes. Make having to cut item from bar what the removal. Then get more item for bar holding.
Similar Products Used:Other ones. Now these are good.
Bike Setup:Light with the good to look.
Bottom Line:Happy when use. Work hard for without the being mad. The good understand.
