      FavoriteTrail: Any
      Duration Product Used: 6 months
      Price Paid: $10
      Purchased At: Speedgoat
Strengths: Thin (perfect if that's what you're looking for)
      Grippy
Dual compound design is comfortable without being mushy
Slots for tie-down wires (should you need them)
Weaknesses: They will twist a tiny amount when really going at it. I probably should have used grip glue.
Similar Products Tried: Ritchey True Grips, Oury, Serfas, ODI Mushrooms, Haro
Bike Setup: 1998 Merlin XLM w/ XTR/King/Thomson/Race Face components
Bottom Line: I'd been looking for the perfect thin grips and I think I've finally found them. One's choice of grips is very much a matter of personal preference. For myself, I ride mostly hardpack trails with some singletrack and a lot of city street riding also. I like thin firm grips because they feel better in those environments and they don't fatigue the hands as much. Also, steering the bike feels better with thin grips because they're a lot lighter. The dual compound design Bontrager uses has a very unique feel. The bumps are at the perfect thickness to provide a lot of grippiness, yet they're soft without being mushy and ineffectual. It's hard to describe, but even though these are relatively thin grips, they don't feel like thin grips. They're very comfortable, with or without gloves (with gloves is always better though). I really like these grips.

      Duration Product Used: 1 Year
      Strengths: They're durable
Weaknesses: The low profile design provides very little shock dampening
Similar Products Tried: Oury Grips are THE BEST!
Bottom Line: Don't buy these grips! They're way too thin to provide any shock dampening support. They might as well not be on my handlebars. Get Oury grips instead. Bontrager sucks a$$
