    Date Reviewed: June 28, 2008
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $6.00
    Purchased At:performance
Strengths:it was really cheap at performance, but the ourys were about the same price. they haven't budged since i go them on. mine had fairly squishy rubber...
Weaknesses:...which wasn't comfortable. the ergonomic shape is more uncomfortable than anything, and doesn't feel right. the outer rubber has already worn down to flat rubber.
Similar Products Used:stock diamondback crap, but it was nothing like these.
Bike Setup:almost stock 07 diamondback reponse.
Bottom Line:these grips suck. they wore down really fast, and i don't ride more than a couple times a week. every time i stop riding there's tiny pieces of rubber all over my hand. It never split like other people have said, though.

the ergo shape should help, but it really doesn't. the bumpt in the middle seems small, so maybe it would work for someone with small hands. luckily my hands don't get numb, but im sure they would if i did anything long.

    Date Reviewed: May 10, 2006
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
Purchased At:Came with bike (REI Novara Amiga)
Strengths:Didn't cost anything because they came on my wife's bike.
Weaknesses:Hard, rough surface is uncomfortable even with gloves. Center hump leads to discomfort and numbness.
Similar Products Used:Ritchey True Grips (even cheaper, and awesome!), Yeti Hard Cores, Oury lock-on, others.
    Bike Setup:'99 Novara Amiga hardtail.
Bottom Line:These grips suck. The textured surface is is raised too high and made of too hard of a material. Without gloves they're very rough on your hands, and pretty uncomfortable even with gloves on. Not very cushy either. GONG!

    Date Reviewed: December 1, 2004
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $8.00
    Purchased At:local shop
Strengths:Price, soft compound that feels good with or without gloves, no slipping
    Weaknesses:none so far
Similar Products Used:cheap Raleigh grips that came on back
    Bike Setup:Raleigh M60
Bottom Line:I would highly recommend these if you like a soft, aggresive grip style. If you like your grips more firm, these aren't for you.

    Favoriate Trail:Majik Forest
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Purchased At:chainreactioncycles.com
Weaknesses:Profile on grip too strong which makes them uncomfortable without gloves. Started to split after about 2 months.
Similar Products Used:WTB dual-compound. Onza Oury. Ritchey True.
    Bike Setup:1994 Kona Cindercone/XT/Duke XCs/Mavic X517
Bottom Line:Not worthy of the Ritchey name! My favourite is still the WTB dual-compound

    Favoriate Trail:No Way
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Purchased At:7
    Strengths:Fairly comfortable. No rotating.
Weaknesses:Split after a few rides. The outer layer developed a crack which spread halfway across one of the grips.
Similar Products Used:Yeti grips that came with the bike. They were very uncomfortable. Why do companies think that molding their name into the grip makes it better?
    Bike Setup:Yeti
Bottom Line:These grips are junk. I've had grips that lasted five years or more, until the material disintegrated. These things split after only a few rides. Do not buy!! I usually ride every weekend when the weather is nice.

    Purchased At:bike depot
Strengths:best performing grip i've ever used! fits my huge meathooks very well, good balance between soft and firm, doesn't twist too much, nice contours and texture
Weaknesses:the bike i'm building isn't done yet, and even the light riding i've done on it is showing moderate wear
Similar Products Used:stock grips, round, little texture, way hard rubber
Bike Setup:custom built chromoly, shimano lx/alivio, bitex hubs, alex rims, avid cantis w/moonlite xc boosters
Bottom Line:again, excellent grips, but you will have to replace them every season, great value

5 turds value, 4 turds overall for moderatelly fast wear

    Favoriate Trail:Yellow River
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $6.00
    Purchased At:REI
Strengths:Cheap! Pretty comfortable (before and after they split)
Weaknesses:After about one month the outer layer split, exposing the inner layer.
Similar Products Used:Crappy stock grips on my bike.
Bike Setup:Giant Yukon SE, pretty much stock and a couple of upgrades.
Bottom Line:These are great grips for the money. I bought them because they were the cheapest at REI. The comfort didn't change much after they split, so I can live with them until this poor college student can save enough money for some new ones. I really like the hump in the middle of the grip, it fits my medium sized hands well. After a couple hours of riding my pinky fingers do get a little numb (maybe I grip too hard). One of the end caps didn't last that long, but that's because I messed it up when I was putting it in. Great grips for the money.

    Price Paid: $6.00
    Purchased At:Excel
Strengths:nice dual compound, sticky, didn't rotate.
    Weaknesses:cheap, cheap, cheap
    Similar Products Used:Pedro's
Bike Setup:'Cuda Comp, Marzocchi, LX 9 spd
Bottom Line:They're thicker than I was used to, but after a while felt pretty good. Had no problems with slipping/rotation, but after a few moderate rides the out layer split the length of the grip exposing the inner compound through a 1/2 inch wide crack. Lame. I don't ride nearly as much as I should, so it was dissapointed that these split after not much use. I rode my Pedro's for over 4,500 miles on my old GT, and never had a problem. It's that dang foamy outer layer that did Ritchey in. I guess they get some stars for only being $6. I would recommend them if you want a different look, and you only ride around the block in your Tevas.

Do not rotate at all and are resonably easy to install and remove
Weaknesses:These things will disintegrate before your very eyes.
Absoulutely no durability what so ever. What good is a grip that can not withstand the use of riding gloves.Thank F@#k their cheap."Ritchy Logic"-UUUUMMMM!!!

Strengths:soft rubber, lots of grips in mud, just the grips that has everything u wants
Weaknesses:worn out 2 months after i brought it.... the entire grip is fine but the place near the end of the bar can worn out very fast>>> u gotta buy a extra ones at home. and once it worn out, it hurt your hands while you a riding>>> it really hurts>>one solutions.... rotate your grips often, also it tend to slip around the handle bar> damn scary. so i recommend put something to make it tight.
Similar Products Used:ODI yeti dual compound... very nice
Bike Setup:something that is very nice..........
Bottom Line:ritchey did a very good job in this grip, as long it is new and don't slip, it rocks. but this is a grip tht you need to pay attenion often. often it is too soft becasue it actually makes you grab the bar very tight...but to all grip companies... please make all grips more durable>>> we don't wanna change grips very three months. it's not about the price, but it is annoying.

Strengths:Price, Look, and good ol Ritchey Design
Weaknesses:None, well.... except for..... nope none
Similar Products Used:The crap that came stock on my MTB
Bike Setup:trek 7000 lx/xt, race lite wheels, BG pro MTB saddle,
Bottom Line:Awesome grips, that really do ge tthe job done, That hump in the middle is cool because your hand fits around it. The grips work too well. I love these grips. If you have got average sized or large hands buy em, but if you got little hands go for a more flat grip. These grips were real cheap, I picked em up at REI (yeah REI rules!!!) for 5 bucks. Its so cool.

    Favoriate Trail:Cuyamaca Canyon
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Strengths:Inexpensive
Bottom Line:First, my disclaimer: Me, woman. Small hands. The hump in the middle of these grips makes my hands sore during long rides. The best way to describe it is that the hump makes my hand rest on the grip in an unnatural position which leads to fatigue for my pinkie and thumb muscles.

Other than that, they appear to be a decent grip and would recommend them if you have bigger hands that actualy fit the grip properly.

For me personally -- I'll be buying something different. Only paid about $5.00 so it's nothing major.

    Duration Product Used:
    less than 1 month
    Strengths:
    Nice looking
    Beefy!!
    Ergonomic
    Weaknesses:
    None thus far
    Similar Products Used:
    Generic neoprene
    Bike Setup:
    Full suspension
Bottom Line:Well, for all around purposes, these grips get the job done, and get it done well!!! There is a hump in the center for your palms to fit around it perfectly. Water tends to make them a little slick till they get worked in. After that, it's hard to get your hands off them. I've been around lots of bikes and experienced many grips, and I highly recommend them. 5 Flaming weiners!
