$15.00 | | Purchased At: | ESI website | | Strengths: | simple, simple, simple...no locks, allen screws, or goofy raised rubber graphics that you can't see anyway unless you are trail riding with no hands staring at your grips. in three months they have not budged, I have removed them twice, once to change a shifter and again to cut my bar, they are easy enough to remove and put back on. Price is also a plus. I use fingerless thin leather palm gloves and wet nor sweat can get my hand to throttle on them. | | Weaknesses: | I would like them thicker. Weight is not an issue when it comes to 51 grams a pair. They could be 0.0125" thicker for a few extra grams and be even sweeter. | | Similar Products Used: | yeti, race face, ODI, double-stick duct tape over roadbike tape (I was in a bind, and this is a great dry weather setup) | | Bike Setup: | 1999 Trek 6500 - 2 wheels,a frame, and a rider(along with other parts) | | Bottom Line: | The only reason I can think of why this product isn't a "Best Choice" is that it lacks "bling-factor". It beats all of the other grips in every area that really counts, except graphics and raised lettering. I can see someone with iced gloves needing some raised grips, but what fraction is that. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$15.00 | | Purchased At: | online | | Strengths: | Value and grip, really comfy!! | | Weaknesses: | wish they came in more colors | | Similar Products Used: | LIZARD SKINS | | Bike Setup: | Stumpy fsr with xtr | | Bottom Line: | Had a rider recommend them and thought I would give them a try and was really impressed. Just a great product, really comfortable and take some of the vibration out of the bars, great grip too - no slip at all.
Definitely won me. Big 5 Chillies
All they would need to be perfect would be to come in lots of colors, as it stands it's black, blue or red (I want ORANGE) | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$16.00 | | Purchased At: | ESI | | Strengths: | Supesoft and comfortable, great control, very light weight. | | Weaknesses: | A little touch to put on carbon bars. Use soapy dishwashing fluid and it's much easier and they dry in place. | | Similar Products Used: | Lots of other grips | | Bike Setup: | Lenz Leviathan 29er, Ibis Mojo | | Bottom Line: | This grips are amazing. I bought them for 1 bike to try and then had to buy them for all my mtn. bikes. They are super comfortable and even absorb significant trail buzz. The Racer's Edge model works great for small hands like mine. They never turn, even when riding in very wet conditions. The 3 pairs I own weigh between 48 and 51 grams each--superlight! So far they seem to be wearing well. They don't pack down or feel mushy and vague. This is a simple fantastic product. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Yucaipa, CA Date Reviewed: November 24, 2006 | | Favoriate Trail: | Angelus Oaks - SART | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Purchased At: | ESI | | Strengths: | Very comfortable, durable, attention-grabbing, etremely lightweight - oh, did I mention comfortable? - They are very comfortable, and "tacky" for a good grip (even when wet). | | Weaknesses: | Only 3 colors (hope to see more Gary). Oh, I need to see if they will fit my fishing poles too - if not, you need to come up with those (waaayy better than cork or foam). | | Similar Products Used: | You name it - I've tried them all. | | Bike Setup: | Cannondale Scalpel (24 lbs of bicycle bling), Schwinn Homegrown Single Speed (20 lbs), Cannondale Six13 (full DA), Q-Roo TT bike, Santana Tandem | | Bottom Line: | It's a simple concept that works extremely well. The inherent properties of silicone appear to be perfectly suited for this application. My hands are less tired after an epic ride, leaving me more energy to sprint to the finish line. Additinally, neither my hands nor the grips slip (even when wet). In fact, I have ESI stuff installed on my TT bike's aerobars, my tandem & Roadbike. This product is great - the company ships quickly, and is now being carried at many local shops (at least in Cali) - but, that's nothing USPS can't fix. Buy them for all your bikes (I did), you'll love 'em! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

I love my old grips (actually put a new set on my old bars as well). They're great for taking away discomfort and they're pretty soft. I had a lot of issues with my ulnar nerve on my right hand/arm when I first started riding and I got these grips and use Specialized BG gloves with ulnar padding and don't have issues anymore. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$16.00 | | Purchased At: | ESI | | Strengths: | No throttle grip even in Oregon winter. Superior grip in all conditions. Unbelievable comfort for the longest rides. Get better with age and last very well. | | Weaknesses: | You will never be confortable with something else! | | Similar Products Used: | Grab-on; ritchey. | | Bike Setup: | Bianchi IBex; XTR group; Notubes rims/rotors; SDG saddle/post; Syntace stem/bar; Kenda tires. | | Bottom Line: | Best grips available. Super comfortable with or without gloves. No glue hairspray paint etc and they NEVER spin. Surface breaks in with age and they feel even softer and conform to individual hand shape. Material absorbs high frequency vibration better than rubber and isolates the rider from fatigue on long/rough rides.
The best grip I have ever used in 15 years of racing! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
