$1100.00 | | Purchased At: | Sioux River Bicycles & Fitness | | Strengths: | Super stout frame. I like the shock and the brakes. THis bike takes everything I trow at it. | | Weaknesses: | Handlebars were a little wide til I chopped them down an inch and a half on both sides. I twisted the front wheel first day I had it at the skatepark. Everything else is sweet. | | Similar Products Used: | Trek Bruiser, Mongoose Ritual, Fisher Mullet. | | Bike Setup: | Pretty much stock except the wheels. I also converted it to a 2 speed. My rear is a single speed DMR Revolver hub with a Sun Mammoth 36H Rim and super stout 4 cross twisted spokes (they don't even think about going out of true no matter what I do to them). My front wheel is a deore hub with a Sun Rhyno lite 36H rim with 3 cross twisted set up. I have a Paul Components Melvin chain tensioner to help me shift my 2 front gears. I also threw on some DMR MOTO RT tires for street and dirt. | | Bottom Line: | This bike Rocks!! It is the lightest and strongest freeride/dirt jump bike I've ridden (mine wieghs in @ 28lbs). If you can find it I recommend it to anyone who wants a super tough bike to handle what you throw at it. The other Fisher freeride bikes are good too. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

It has been through a lot and I have yet to have a single problem with it. I love the way it handles, though it is a bit unstable from a stop on climbs, but hey that comes with the geometry of this style of bike. Good tires, components, brakes... just the overall feel is a good thing. | | Weaknesses: | Some people would say the bar width or weight, but not me. I'm a bigger guy, and I like to know where my bike is. | | Bike Setup: | Stock | | Bottom Line: | Well, I'm 6'4" and about 215 lbs, and I just can't push this bike to its limits. It's tough, beefy, and takes my abuse with a big ear-to-ear smile. It doesn't climb as well as I'd like (but that could be just me) but the downhill runs are superb. Straight and true, this machine performs - rocks, roots and drops all seem to fade under the confidence-inspiring 21-inch frame.

Great geometry the bike feels tall, Not like a back crunching bmx. The fork is great for this bike. The build is great for a cross country freeride. | | Weaknesses: | The bars are too wide unless thats you'r thing. The drop off fork could at LEAST have a external rebound nob. (But the fork has good dampining). | | Similar Products Used: | P.1, P.2, | | Bike Setup: | Everything stock besides; Easton Vice, Kenda White Tiger 2.5(tires), 8 inch rotor in front, Also Diety Seat. | | Bottom Line: | This is a very worthy bike. I use it for cross country, Dirt jumping, and some freeriding. Of course. For a bike you wont need to chang any thing this is a great bike. Even the stock tires side walls can take some bashings. Very nice handle bars, look super strong. As soon as i got this bike it was soooooooo easy to lift up and manual/cat walk. On my old Bigfoot, your arms get so sore from lifting up. This bike is super light(around 33lbs.). It improoved my bunny hopping sooo such. Hayes brakes are super smooth(no effort to stop fast). The marzocchi drop off is nice and smooth. If filled with air, it is hard to bottom. | | Weaknesses: | There are barley any weaknesses. Just that the stock handlebars are pretty wide(trim them down a bit), fork doesn't have any adjustment(i wanna pike), if you are gonna do some park with this bike, i suggest you swich to two 24" wheels , it is kinda clunky in the skatepark. | | Similar Products Used: | Norco Bigfoot, Kona Shred, Gary Fisher Mullet. | | Bike Setup: | 2005 Gary Fisher Ged, all stock except 24" Mag 30 with a 2.7 kenda collasal | | Bottom Line: | AWESOME BIKE FOR ALL AROUND. $1450.00 | | Purchased At: | Cranky's Bike Shop | | Strengths: | It's a great bike when you make sure you use it as intended. The bike does all my everyday riding, occasional trail and -light- DH and is awesome for freeriding and DJ'ing which I really bought the bike for. Tires are good, brakes are strong, and everything works well together. | | Weaknesses: | -Wide handlebars definitely cumbersome on trails. Though after a while with them I feel awkward on smaller handlebars. -Frame does not allow for an inner bashguard, so the only remedy there is a chainguide. | | Similar Products Used: | Specialized P1, P2, and P3, Giant STP1 and STP2, Cannondale Chase, Norco Sasquatch | | Bike Setup: | New Mavic 219 Rims and E.Thirteen SRS chainguide (front deraillure removed obviously). If your big on DH, definitely look somewhere else. If your looking for a Jumper/Freerider that can act as a jack-of-all-trades when needed, GET THIS BIKE. There is nothing I have tried that this bike can't handle. Pushing for a 10ft drop and 35ft gap this season, will update on performance.

$751.00 | | Purchased At: | Littleton Cyclery | | Strengths: | This bike is a tank, it will take whatever you can dish out to it. I'm a trials/ freeride/ urban rider, and have been waiting for a bike like this for quite a long time. The bike just feels like it belongs in the air, and will sail over anything you put it to. Lets just see how long until the frame snappes on me like every other bike I've owned. | | Weaknesses: | Seat clamp is weak. When peddle kicking I get some major frame creek from the rear disk brake mount, not to really worry about. Front derailleur is pretty weak, has its problems. Rear hub is also pretty weak for those who ride trials. Too much play before it engages, throws your balance off when doing lurges, japslaps, gapshoots, and sketchy drop offs. All of which can be fixed with better componets. | | Similar Products Used: | Kona Cowan, Giant STP, Specialized P1-P3, Norco Moment, Azonic Steelhead, Mountain Cycle Rumble, Yeti DJ. | | Bike Setup: | Chris King Headset, Chris King Rear Hub, Shirmono 105 rear sprocket, and rear derailleur, Sun Singletrack Rims Front and Rear, Maxxis Hookworm 2.5" tires, E-13 Bashguard. | | Bottom Line: | I am very happy with this bike, and for the price you cannot beat what you get for it. It takes a beating like a unwanted step-child, and wants to be abused. Everything from the big hits, stair gaps, dirt jumping, trials, and downhill freeride. It's actually pretty good with distance riding for those who ride everywhere they go, like me. The solid black frame is a great looker, and looks even better when you sticker it up. $800.00 | | Purchased At: | Blazing Saddles, Hebden Bridge | | Strengths: | This is a fun bike for hardcore trail riding. It's light enough to ride xc and solid enough to throw downhill on tech descents with confidence. I've broken some bits but the core of the bike is tough. The package is great for the price and the bits that are cheap can be upgraded as you trash them. On the one hand this is a bike that you can just cruise along on, sitting upright behind the chopper wide bars. Then when you hit tight bends and berms it jumps to order with super fast handling. Downhill the Ged is a confidence inspiring ride and can be ridden hard. Minimal logos are a plus point and black is bad. Bontrager Big Earl components do the job very well. Gumbi tyres roll well and stick like sticky things. | | Weaknesses: | Bought in England this bike costs in pounds probably what it costs in dollars. Still it is cheap as chips.
Built to a price, some of the components died on me. Seat mount is single bolt and snapped on a heavy landing. Seat post QR washer compressed and had to be over tightened. 2 BB in 6 months( ISIS BB is generic crap). Paint is thin and just rubs off. | | Bike Setup: | Marzocchi 66RC 150mm replaced original 130mm Drop Off which I broke after falling on ice and cracking the brake caliper mount. Extra length of the 66 is fine and the adjustability is a great bonus. Salsa QR seat post clamp is great until it rains and it gets full of gritty mud. SKF BB. Burgtec flat pedals. | | Bottom Line: | I came to this bike after riding a xc hardtail. My confidence and skill has improved and I am trying more technical riding and trying to jump. it's a bomber of a bike that is hard to beat for the price. Spec can be upgraded and is woth it as the frame is great.
It will climb, you just need to adapt to the bike and ride smooth. It is not a lightweight xc bike though. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Awesome frame, pretty nice components group, good urban/dirt jumping bike | | Weaknesses: | Not a fan of the hayes hydro disc brakes. The wheelset could use some work, sealed bearings possibly, stronger hoops. | | Similar Products Used: | Fisher Mt Tam 29 and Fisher Sugar 3+ | | Bike Setup: | Mostly stock, but building a Custom wheelset and i put Avid BB7 7" mechanicals front and rear | | Bottom Line: | Im a bike shop employ, and from just building and selling the '05 to the '06 is a big plus. They did put a nicer, longer travel fork on a "freeride" labeled bike. Other than that, the components group on the bike is nice, the wheelset is really the only place that i believe could be improved. Also, the frame is pretty light weight, yet still strong. All in all, its a very nice bike for someone who is looking to do urban riding and some dirt jumping. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Its slacked head tube keep the bike tight and smooth in the corners on even the roughest courses. The bike is beefy, yet still light enough to whip around on the jumps. The relatively short chain stays make it a decent option for street and is fairly good for pedal kicks and light trials. In the skatepark it handles well. Air Assist fork makes all the difference! | | Weaknesses: | The bike could stand to be a bit better on the wheelsets. It uses a basic Shimano (not sealed) hub, which cant stand up to the abuses of Park and urban riding. I have to re-adjust the hub quite often. | | Similar Products Used: | Black Market Mob, Planet X Jack Flash, Cannondale Chase 1, | | Bike Setup: | Kenda K-rad 2.3's for urban, re-routed housing to be able to barspin and tailwhip. Cut down handle bars. | | Bottom Line: | This bike is awesome for dirt jumping or park box rhythm sections, as an urban bike it can handle a lot from light trials to wallrides and pedal grinds. The bike handles amazingly in berms at the 4 cross track.
If you're an all around rider needing to get from place to place, needs a durable bike which can handle anything, This bike is perfect.
Not a great choice for the park rider, but cut down bars, smooth tread tires, convert to barspin and it works well enough.
Easy to whip around, durable, and fairly light, its an awesome choice for anyone. Worth the upgrade over the bitter, mullet, and opie by every penny.

Rhino Lite wheels take the punishment in strides. | | Weaknesses: | The Big Earl bars are super wide. They are great for slow to no speed balance maneuvers, but if you take this on a trail they could easily snag trees.
The seat post clamp is worthless. The QR just doesn't cut it. Get a bolt-type clamp and keep the seat where you want it. | | Bike Setup: | Stock '05 GED: Big Earl, Earl, Shimano LX, Rhyno Lite, etc. | | Bottom Line: | Excellent bike choice for anyone who is looking to hit the urban scene and work for their down hill FR adreneline rush. At just under 35 lbs. stock it is no light weight. This is the same reason it will take what ever you throw at it.
The chilis say this bike is hot, hot, hot. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$1100.00 | | Purchased At: | Qucik Stop | | Strengths: | VALUE, looks, components, beef | | Weaknesses: | none | | Similar Products Used: | Kona Stuff, Rocky Mountain Flow, Kona Cowan | | Bike Setup: | Stock except for MRP chain guide | | Bottom Line: | This bike is almost like a slave, it does anything I want it to! Urban assault, dirt jump, downhill, North Shore style. We have lots of different terrain in MQT and this bike is takes it all like a champ. This bike would be perfect for just about anyone that loves to ride but might limit some due to the higher price, but seriously you couldnt buy the components and put them on your crappy bike for any cheaper. Beefy frame and a stellar component group make the chilis flame. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$1000.00 | | Purchased At: | Ashland Cycle Sport | | Strengths: | It's beefcake but handles like it's superlight. Comes with really good tires. The feel of the bike is really good. It can be set up for any thing trails, park, urban, DJing, Down hill. You name it, it rides super great. Maybe it's just me but it climbs pretty well too. | | Weaknesses: | If you convert it to just one ring up front it does not fit a 38t. I haven't tried a 36 or 34 but I'm not holding my breath. Other than that this bike kicks ass. | | Similar Products Used: | Kona Cauldera, Azonic Steel head, P1, P2, P3, Hardrock, Rincon, Elimanator, Stab, fetish cycles, Cowans, Chute, lots of stuff but this is where its at. | | Bike Setup: | Sefras Fakie seat, E13 chain guide, WTB Mutnoraptor in the back, I cut the bars down, Gold Eastern Pedals. | | Bottom Line: | If you want a do all hardtail buy this bike. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
