$500.00 | | Strengths: | 3 rear wheel drop-out positions. Stiff. Will accept any fork with 1 1/8" or 1.5" steerer. | | Bike Setup: | sram drivetrain, 66 rc2 eta, raceface evolve, hadley 10mm through axle / mavic 321, 2.5" dhr and 2.35" kinetics. | | Bottom Line: | This bike can be set up for all styles of riding. A little on the heavy side, but the short chainstay will make up for weighty frame. With a 7" single crown, bottom bracket somewhat tall, but it tracks over the rough stuff with great precision. It takes drops with ease and with the compression cranked up it dirt jumps great. Very raked geometry. Find an old frame with horizontal drop-outs and run single speed! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from cavedwelling Date Reviewed: May 29, 2006 | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Strengths: | stong beefcake of a hardtail! can take anything but an extended climb. | | Weaknesses: | beats you up, doesnt make it easy to climb because of the seat tube angle....stiff as hell...but its built to a purpose. comfort is not one of them... | | Similar Products Used: | plenty other hardtails. | | Bike Setup: | pike, mavic rims. race face bits, urban/dj | | Bottom Line: | i liked this bike but decided it was too stiff for me. I'm waiting to get a steel frame to take the edge off hits.
Its the burliest frame out there and it looks damn cooler than any other hardtail i have ever seen.

from Connecticut Date Reviewed: November 23, 2005 | | Favorite Trail: | Mtn Creek, Plattekill | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Strengths: | Strong, a good geometry | | Weaknesses: | a little heavy, have to use a chain tensioner | | Similar Products Used: | dna, blk market mob, .243, gimp | | Bike Setup: | evil, ss, hayes r break, holy rollers, dj2 | | Bottom Line: | A good bike, I am becoming more and more convinced that it is geared towards freeride not urban(i know its listed as freeride but it is commonly used for urban) Im planning on getting a dna mainly because of the sliding rear dropouts, that way i can run a bmx chain. If you plan on buying one I would probobly pass, there are equally good bikes you can get for a much cheaper price. ex- black market- gimp if you want to spend an equal amount of money to the evil you should get a dna- they are in my opinion the best hardtail on the market. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$700.00 | | Purchased At: | MBracing | | Strengths: | everything, tought as hell, amazing geometry, makes you want to huck bigger | | Weaknesses: | pedals worse up hill then my BB7 did.. haha.. but who rides up these days.. just sully but hes a tropper.. shuttle for life | | Similar Products Used: | none.. there are no frames similar | | Bike Setup: | 2002 boxxer, 26" 321's, 243 racing bars and stem, michillin 2.5's, 3 piece azonic cranks- its a pig around 40ish pounds | | Bottom Line: | basically.. i use to ride a BB7 and then i swapped out frames hoping to chill my riding back a bit after nearly killing myself on my BB7... but it didn't work out like that.. i feel WAY more confident on the evil then on my BB7 dropping larger, hucking bigger, decending faster, jumping higher... i rode whistler and was the only HT in teh pack.. was teh only one that didn't get a flat, hucked everything we came across, and kept up to the fullys.
buy one.. if you want a chairlift/(shuttle)freeride HT frame!! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Also at home on stair sets to halfpipes. Best frame ever built!!! Highly recommended!! The last bike you'll ever need!! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$700.00 | | Strengths: | this is the only bike on this whole site where someone should be aloud to say EVERYTHING!!! its so beefy, strong, quick, looks like a monster! | | Weaknesses: | the only thing i could say would be that im not a fan of the super laidback seattube | | Similar Products Used: | banshee morphine, 24 letoy3, clifcat tankass | | Bike Setup: | UPS brown imperial, 170mm boxxer WC, black mag30's on hope hubs, hope M4 brakes, full truvative hozefeller set. | | Bottom Line: | By far the most versitile bike ever made! it can handle anything you throw at it! I revently broke my leg attempting a 17 foot tall drop to a hard packed landing, my bottom bracket snapped and i smashed my heal/ ankle into the ground, i am now not riding due to a broken ankle but will be back shorty so that i can test this beast again.
IT WILL OUTLAST YOU AND EVERY PART ON YOUR BIKE!!! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from b.c. Date Reviewed: May 22, 2005 | | Favorite Trail: | a line | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Purchased At: | katmandu whistler | | Strengths: | this is the stiffest frame ever!! truley a peice of art. the geometry is crazy fun. | | Weaknesses: | none!! | | Similar Products Used: | i lookes at a banshee morphine, but it pailed in comparisson to something this evil | | Bike Setup: | DH style. a 03 jr T. complete saint components. with axiom peds, a pair of minions, and sram rocket levers connected to that dreamy saint rear derailier. | | Bottom Line: | this bike is just so much fun. it weighs in at a 40 lbs. even, but unless i have to pick it up i never give it a thought. amazing with a tripple clamp. its a wheelie machine. supper stiff.very good climber, with that much bike under me i feel bullit proof. ride whistler every week, and this imperial makes me giggle like a little boy! and let me tell ya shes a looker, ya the laddies really dig evil. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Slc Date Reviewed: March 20, 2005 | | Favorite Trail: | crest | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Purchased At: | go ride.com | | Strengths: | Super stable, strong, not to heavy, it rocks. Rides very well, my first time on it I was hitting 10 to 15 foot drops on it, that's pretty cool cause the last time I rode was three years ago. The bike is light! I can pedal it anywhere | | Weaknesses: | seat tube Has a crack in it. The sl has fixed that problem though. And it's probably not a problem if you only weigh 160 or so. | | Similar Products Used: | last bike rode was a bighit comp 2001 | | Bike Setup: | dj 1, arrows 24", 909 2.5, evil srs, fsa stuff. | | Bottom Line: | Bike rocks, I sold my bighit in the fall of 2001 and went to Spain for a while. In 2004 I finally was able to go biking again. I went way bigger on the evil than on the bighit. Bike is very stable in the air. Doubles are simple and drops are super easy on this bike. Only bad thing is the seat tube. Kinda sucks for trail riding, but then again I used to trail ride with a bmx so it really isn't that bad. The bike's strong I'm 5'9" and 240 lbs and the bike has held up to everything that I've done to it.
Bottom line is that this bike kicks A. At 37 pounds this bike is perfect. If you want a good bike that you can flick around like a rag doll and stay in complete control this is your bike. If you want to hit huge gaps and big drops and like the hardtail life this is the ride. If you don't like a super stiff ride and go up hill as fast as you go down stay away. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
