Date Reviewed: August 11, 2008
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $2850.00
Purchased At:Sunset MTB
Strengths:Everything. Haven't had to replace a thing.
Weaknesses:Although similar to the 2006 Patriot 66, it feels alot shorter. Price is defo a weekness.
Similar Products Used:None, this is my 3rd Patriot.
Bike Setup:All standard apart from Boxxer Teams and Hope Vision 2's.
Bottom Line:Absolutely bombproof. Downhill it is superb, tracking all ruts with no flex. I even entered the 2008 SITS with it whilst running Boxxer Teams up front. An effort to ride up but tearing past the XC guys on the slippy/muddy downhills brought a smile to my face.

Favorite Trail:The Mast, Dunkeld
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $6000.00
Purchased At:Highland Bicycle Co
Strengths:Light, Strong, Sexy, Versatile, Easy to Maintain, Easy to Clean, No Linkage, No Flex, No quarterly bearing change, Climbs very well when the shock is set up correctly, Genius Cable Routing.
Weaknesses:No ISCG Tabs
Similar Products Used:Commencal Mini DH (Good), Giant Reign (pish), Santa Cruz Nomad (OK), Scott Ransom (Broken), Kona Coilair (wank), Rocky Mountain Slayer, (the worst ride i've ever had)
Bike Setup:2008 Patriot with maxle rear end and evolver ISX 4 shock, 36 talas rc2, hope mono m4 (floating), xtr c/set, E 13 sts, Hope ProII/ Mavic 819, swamp thing 2.5 ust, X9, Hope Ceramic B/B, Truvativ/FSA Finishing Kit.
Bottom Line:This is by far the best bike i've ever tried and after 3 and a half years working in the local bike shop, numerous demo days/alpine adventures and a succession of top end bikes you can be sure that i've tried the rest. I have abused it for a year now and all i've changed is the B/B (XTR being the original). If you set it up correctly it will do anything from xc trails to full on DH. If you disagree, YOU'RE WRONG!!............Seriously.

Date Reviewed: September 18, 2007
Favorite Trail:chicksands
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $5500.00
Purchased At:cycle surgury
Strengths:This bike Is the nuts, i have it in the lime green so look like sex on wheels, it handles with everything you throw at it.
Weaknesses:The forks have broken twice just doing the smallest of things so i will be up grading that, as far as the frame, there is nothing wrong there. the price could be better but the price for quality.
Similar Products Used:24 le dude, giant reign X1, kona stab.
Bike Setup:fox 36 van R, hope pro 2 hubs, hope moto's, dmr wingbar, sram x9 through out.
Bottom Line:This bike is very good for all types of riding, its very light and the adjustment on the frame make good for freeriding, xc, downhill and the commute to work. Every person that has riden my bike is very impressed, and would get one if the price was better.
