    Strengths:1.5 headtube, super strong frame, it can take nything you throw at it, or example i hit a 20foot by 18 foot drop and it landed smooth. I love this thing

    Bike Setup:2006 Iron horse Yakuza Kumicho with a 2006 66rc2x
    Bottom Line:this bike is a beast and you cant go wrong buying it. this is the best iron horse you can buy other than a sunday, but they are ridiculously priced. you should buy it if you love to ride whistler and the shore, if your a cross country rider i would find something a little lighter. but either way you will love it.

    Strengths:the frame. comes with maxxis tires which are pretty dope. and the hayes nine brakes.
    Weaknesses:the fork sags way to much and ive bottomed it out many times off small 10' drops suggested to buy 888. and there is no uphill on this baby weighing in at 42.7 pounds and only 8 gears.

    Strengths:tough, nice components, the seat is great, 1.5" head tube in case you want a Marzocchi 66 (which I do), looks cool
    Weaknesses:really heavy, tires, personally i hate hydraulic brakes
    Similar Products Used:kona stinky (seemed much easier to pedal uphill)
    Bike Setup:stock (2006)
    Bottom Line:I have the 2006 version. The Super T is great. I don't notice the Manitou Swinger, so it must be doing its job. I have to ditch the tires ASAP (1.7 kg each!!). Maybe I'm out of shape, but it is almost impossible to pedal. The head tube is raked out for full on DH, which is sweet for the descent. For the price, it is an unbelievable bike. I think in retrospect, the Ojiki is probably more suited for my riding as the Kumicho feels more like a dedicated DH bike. If I could give it 6 flaming rats for value, I would.

    Strengths:Great bike for the money! I can now keep up with the best of them without killing myself!
    Weaknesses:The fork. The fork. The fork. The weight (but does it really matter?)
    Bike Setup:stock except for lock on grips and '05 Marzocchi 888rc
    Bottom Line:If you change the fork out this is a great bike. Even after going back to manitou it still sucked! I have done 1.5 seasons of hard downhill and the bike has held up pretty well. I have not found it's limitations yet. A little heavy but I weigh 215 myself and I am not a racer anyway. It is the cheapest way to get into downhilling. I don't have $5000 to spend on a bike I can only use for 90 days a year!
    I did have to replace the pivot bearing due to loosening but went to a industrial supplier and got them for $24. A new bearing on the floating brake also quieted it down. If you don't have the cash for a racer this is a great bike!

    Bike Setup:stock except for goodridge steel braided lines.
    Bottom Line:This bike is killer with an upgrade or two, but you have to be willing to spend then extra money for a fork...1500 for the bike and 800 for a fork such as a 888 will do the trick.

    Strengths:Super-T fork; strong frame; best handeling big bike I have ridden;
    Weaknesses:no chain ring guard; only a 9 speed; this bike is nimble enough to do more free-riding if only it had an additional small ring; could use a better brake package but for the price the Hayes nine works ok;
    Similar Products Used:norco vps; specialized big hit; Kona Stinky;
    Bike Setup:everything is stock except for the pedals; have fork and swinger4 set up a little stiffer than recomended.
    Bottom Line:Great bike for the price; suspension is plush and the geometery of the bike is great; if anyone from Ironhorse reds this, I know that you have your 7. free-ride series but those bikes just don't hold the same potntial as this one; you could do so much more with this bike with a few minor changes;

    Weaknesses:The only thing that i found, and this may be becaus eim picky, but because of the lack of chainguard, i smashed my crank. Its ok, for the low price, i just bought a new one

    Bottom Line:Awesome bike for the price. Tons of travel, yet its still really easy to pedal. Good entry level DH bike, considering the price, and the quality of the components. 5 Flamin' Chilis!!!! Hopefully the fork doesnt die, I'll write another review if it does. Like someone said earlier though, its easier to buy a bike with really nice specs and a crap fork, than it is to buy a bike with crap components and an awesome fork. Id reccomend it for anyone wanting to get into DH/Fr... not for an xc rider.

    Bottom Line:Once you upgrade a couple of items, this bike is sweet, Iron Horse is great to deal with, and they respond quickly. I highly reccomend that you contact them, and ask for the re-vamped rear wheel, which will allow you to throw the floating rear brake set up into the trash. Mounting the brake directly to the IS mounts gives the bike way better control, and gets rid of the annoying squeel, and chatter. take the Manitou off, and cut it into little tiny pieces, and flush them, that fork needs help!! Replace it with a Marrzochi, and life is good!! Overall, this is a good bike right out of the box, but for a few bucks, it can be awesome.

    Strengths:Absolutely bombproof frame; 5th element shock; big fat 8" discs on both wheels; nice riding position; wicked SRAM gear setup; the cool looking dragon painted underneath; in fact, the whole bike is pretty damn sexy; floating brake.
    Weaknesses:The fork: it's too mushy and groggy; it's labour trying to pedal: it's a b1tch on the flats and hills; the whole thing quivers when you apply the rear brake (for some strange reason); the way it teases you when you can't ride it.
    Similar Products Used:None, it's my first 'real' bike!
    Bike Setup:As it comes out of the box.
    Bottom Line:This is my first fr/dh bike and I love it so much, it's like nothing I've ever had before. However, I would agree that the fork needs changing for something less fragile (unfortunately I don't have the money yet!) but everything else feels pretty damn solid. It's perfect for learner downhillers such as myself; weekend blasts in the forests and killin' the hills are made so much more entertaining. There's 8" of endless travel on the back and the 5th element is sooo sweet when it's worn in- it feels alive. Drops and jumps like a dream. Really comfortable. I've (sort of) solved the pedalling issue with some spd's...but I've already fallen victim to the dodgy release mechanism. (Get it - Fallen! No, thought not...) Anyway, it's amazingly good value and amazingly good fun - you'd never get another rig quite the same for an equivalent price. It's a beast.

    Bottom Line:Killer bike for the money, ditch the fork. You can tell just pogoing the fork on the showroom floor that it sucks in a very bad, scary way so budget 400 extra bucks (US) for a last-year model Boxxer or Jr T from Jensen or Pricepoint (I actually already had an '04 Jr T that came off my broken SGS) or take your life in your hands off any drop you try. Otherwise, after the fork upgrade, this rig is awesome. Floater, SDG I-beam saddle set-up, SRS, SRAM drivetrain, Progressive shock...this is a crazy good deal. After I had the Jr T put on I dropped a very noticeable amount of weight and am cruising around on a nimble, well-balanced downhill bike. I can't wait to hit Cypress, Whistler, the Shore and the killer Oregon spots on it this summer! Five burning turds for value, four overall because replacing the fork is not optional if you are going to use it as it is intended. To Iron Horse's credit on this, though, I'd rather buy a well-spec'ed frame with a easily-replaced crappy fork than a decent frame with a Fox Vanilla shock, mediocre drivetrain and a killer fork.

    Strengths:Good strong frame. love the floating caliper. tough, beefy bike. Good price for the specs.
    Weaknesses:The stance kingpin is not a good fork. 5th element way in the back. disc brakes keep squeeling nd shakes the bike a lil.
    Bike Setup:jus stock rite now but prob gonna change front fork 2 888 vf. nd get fox 3.0 in back. nd change the hayes 9 to hayes mags.
    Bottom Line:Tough bike. everyone should change the forks. nd overall. hell of a fun bike 2 ride anywhere. barely every gets dents or scratches.
