    Strengths:*This review is for the 2007 7Point5*

Overall a very capable bike. The suspension handles technical, rocky, rooty, steep terrain like a pro. Very fun on the berms and jump lines.
I was also surprised at how well this bike handles super steep climbs!
Weaknesses:At 42.4 lbs stock, its a beefy, but nothing a real man can't handle. To be honest, it doesn't feel that heavy on the trail- so i guess it's not a weakness after all.
Similar Products Used:Kona Stinky, Trek Session 10, Trek Session 7, Mongoose Black Diamond.
Bike Setup:Stock but with Panaracer Fire FR 2.4's to shave 2 lbs, making the bike about 40lbs. Doesn't need any upgrades- comes perfect stock!
Bottom Line:All in all the best bike I've ridden. Probably greatly due to the DW Link. I ride alot of very technical trails, and this makes them super fun. I plan to hold onto this bike for years to come. If you're not sure about buying one, take my advice and buy it- you won't be disappointed!

Bottom Line:This bike is the best 7" frereride bike I've ridden, pedals with no bob, and bombs downhill. Can easily be used for xc rides it pedals so well. Go buy one, now!

Strengths:stiff frame, good on large impacts like drops/hucks, nimble in the air
Weaknesses:geo is a little off for steep/sketchy terrain. i have an 06 and i have had too many problems with my linkages. they developed play that wouldnt go away and i wasted alot of time trying to fix them. i found that on successive hits the suspension packed down, it could have been the shock but i changed it and nothing changed.
Similar Products Used:banshee scream, spec bighit, can Gemini, gt ruckus, stinky primo
Bike Setup:stock except changed the fifth to a roco
Bottom Line:I really wanted to like this bike, but was let down by linkage problems and trouble in some situations with suspension performance. I found this to simply be an average ride.

Strengths:This bike is for starters is the most responsive freeride that I have ever ridden for the price. I takes big hits and allows you to make some errors because the bike is so versatile. The Forks in the front are also off the charts!!
Weaknesses:The DW Link is great but the rear spring would have been a lot better if it came with a 450 LB. spring.
Similar Products Used:Specialized Big Hit/ Santa Cruz/ GT 1.0/ Iron Horse Yakuza OJIKI
Bike Setup:Stock.... but soon to have a new spring in the back!
Bottom Line:The bike is great and has made the style of riding that I do very enjoyable! I couldn't ask for anything else this bike is great. If you don't like it you bought it for the wrong reason or the wrong style of riding. So the bike is great and for the price you can't beat it!!

Strengths:this thing is bomb proof! very sturdy- it screams throw me down the mountain as hard as you can. plush ride; buttery suspension soaks bumps nicely. component line (stock) is pretty good in MY opinion. suspension is what needs the upgrade.
Weaknesses:suspension- the 5th element 3 way in the rear- worthless. they don't even support bike suspension anymore! the sprin in the boxxer is very soft- must upgrade to a stiffer one. this being a DH/FR bike, you don't sit much. but when you do- the saddle is like a rock. so for those pedal days up- ditch the saddle for a better one.
Bike Setup:she's all stock for now....
Bottom Line:amazing/awesome/gnarly/burley bike that can take the hits and keep going. you read alot on how HEAVY it is- well it is a DH/FR bike- so its going to be heavy. so man up and pedal! i have riden this thing somewhat cross country and did fine! in fact it did alot better i thought it would. so don't let heavy discourage you.

the tires and front fork give it alot of the weight it carries- can always go tubeless.

all-in-all this bike is sick! buy it. ride it straight to hell and back- she'll be fine (the bike that is)

    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $1315.00
Purchased At:Epic Cycles, Black Mtn, NC
Strengths:Excellent Frame, Updated the stock 300 lb. coil to a 450 lb. coil. The Geometry of this bike is wonderful. It does everything that Iron Horse claims it will do. It pedals, uphill, easier than most downhill/freeride bikes.
Weaknesses:A bit heavy, but I don't think it's any heavier than many any other downhill/freeride bikes with 7.5 inches of travel.
    Similar Products Used:K2 Disco Monkey
    Specialized Demo
    Giant Faith
    Bike Setup:Fork- Rockshox Boxxer U-turn
Rear Shock- 5th Element (coil) 450 lb. spring
    Shifters-Sram X9
    Rear dérailleur- Sram X9
Front dérailleur- Shimano Saint (top pull)
    Crank/Bashguard- E-thirteen
    Brakes- Hayes V8 w/ 8-inch rotors.
Bottom Line:I got an incredible deal on this bike from Epic Cycles in Black Mountain, NC. (The owner is a good friend of mine, so check them out if you're ever in the area, he'll hook you up!) I weigh anywhere from 165-175 lbs. at any given time and the stock 300 lb. spring wasn't really sufficient so I upgraded to a 450 lb. spring, now I have bearly any sag in the shock. It goes uphill like a champ, and the suspension is EXCELLENT for big hits, free-ride and downhill... This bike should never bottom out on you. Unless you huck off of a 20 foot high bridge onto flat concrete.
......Bottom-Bottom Line- This bike is as good as if not better than many other freeride/downhill bikes on the market. It's also the best value anywhere around. I'd rather have this bike than a Specialized Demo, hands down...Not to mention I'd have an extra $2500 in my pocket!!

Strengths:Frame is mega fat, love the forks (they acually respond to adjustment) Great stock pedals, grips and tires
Weaknesses:I had to use spacers for the E13 DRS for smoother operation, heard about 5th Element, we'll see. HEAVY!!
    Similar Products Used:Giant Warp DS1
    Bike Setup:Stock
Bottom Line:This is the 2006 model. I'm 190lbs. and this supports me very well. The bike screams quality out of the box. I'm used to the Giant so this seems like a slight chore to pedal for now untill my skirt comes off! running 140-150lbs. in rear shock, seems good but don't have enough time yet. I must have the sag or something wrong because I do feel some pedal feedback while cranking uphill on the small chainring. I seem to be the only dork w/this problem. If you want to get the hills over with as soon as possible then don't buy, you may be pedaling for a while with the reminder of being on a beefy freeride, (and forget about any street/urban) But if you can deal with the slow uphill time because you creak n' tweek a normal ride, then this most likely is the best choice w/the Dave Weagle link rear end. Otherwise, THIS BIKE IS SOOO SICK!!!!!!! Rating is based on my price and what is was designed to do, pedal ok and shred without breakage!

Strengths:Good spec bike. Sram, E13, Pig stem, boxxers. Everything you need to get started. Solid bike!
Weaknesses:Handle bars too low, need more rise for me. Strange noise( knocking) from 5th element from new. Sending for warranty.
Similar Products Used:Demo 9, Jamis xlt.
Bike Setup:As standard but withsun ringle 2" riser bars, odi lock ons, keywin dh clip ins, wtb timberwolf tires.
Bottom Line:This bike is great. If you dont want a DH bike but break everything else this is for you. I shuttle it lots and it takes a beating. A better fork up front is the next thing to upgrade but as it sits it is a lot of fun. There is no doubt in my mind that this bike will last the distance.
It is quite firm in the back end but thats good for me, will see if I can soften the compression when I get shock back from warranty ( adjuster broke the first time I touched it so have been riding it as it came, dont want to be without it while its getting fixed because it is too much fun!! ). Have been on three hour cross country rides with 2.3 hans venture tyres and light weight tubes. Is hard work uphill but all good on the downs. Its not a race up anyway, its a race down!!!
As I said , if you are hard on gear then this puppy is for you. Ultra versatile.
