Submitted by Ian a Downhiller from WESTSIDE FREERIDE
    Date Reviewed: October 17, 2007
    Duration Product Used:2 Years
    Purchased At:Rider of the Revolution
Strengths:Plush, takes big hits and drops well. Pedals amazingly with the DW linkage and Fox DX 5.0. Very durable frame and parts.
    Weaknesses:Tires. WTB tires suck.
Similar Products Used:SGS word cup, Demo 9
Bike Setup:FSA cranks, Zoke 66 SL Air, DT swiss on saint hubs, E13 guide, Saint drive train, Saint brakes, SDG saddle/post
Bottom Line:This bike rocks. It has a hefty price tag, but to get the best engineering around right now in a linkage system you gotta pay some scratch. Dave Weagle nailed this pivot and the bike screams on the DH and is still nimble for tight sketchy stunts too. Then it pedals better than any big bike I have ever ridden! I have jammed on it through Wistler, Post Canyon, and Falls City and it has been a trusty steed the whole way! WESTSIDE FREERIDE.

Strengths:tracks great. i bomb stairs and urban with great results. looking foward to first dh race next weekend. for minor distance and heavy drop riders.. if you want a great heavy bike that will soak up all sorts of terrain this is you.
Weaknesses:dh/ freeride i have to hike some hills.. what do you expect from a 40lb cushin of cloud? its not a xc bike at all so dont buy it expecting to enjoy long up hills
Similar Products Used:Kona Stinky. custom built... similar suspension, but i like the graphics on the ih
Bike Setup:full shimano saint... god its great. truvativ crank. saint wheels, hubs, floating 8"brakes, shifters, everything... foxdhx5.0 shock and bomber shock
    Bottom Line:worth $3000.00.
urban dh, freeride, shuttle runs, if you ride big and want a bike to keep up go with IH, or stinky whatever you can get a better deal on... but mine is easily worth $3000.00 to me...

Strengths:Pedals very well for a heavy bike. Extremely confidence inspiring on nasty down hill stuff, just point it and go it will get you there. I would highly recomend this bike.
Weaknesses:I have not found any yet.

Bottom Line:Awesome bike, pedals awesome for a 7 inch travel bike - you cannot feel any rear end bob. If you pedal a long ways uphill it may be too heavy(mine weighs 43lb).

Strengths:this bike is a very well designed bike. u can put anything in front of it and just go! this is one the nicest bike i have ridden...its smooth stops like a ferrari and is just fun fun fun! another thing is that when u buy the bike there will be a little rattling in the back shock (from the spacers in the rear shock mounting holes) but that got fixed very easily!
Weaknesses:its a little on the heavy side but you dont notice it going downhill. but for just around town, its a little hard, but u get over it!
    Similar Products Used:cannondale gemini 2000
    Bike Setup:freeride, downhill
Bottom Line:its a very nice bike,if u want a good quality bike that will last then this is the bike to get!!! all i can say is that it is a awesome machine!

    Favoriate Trail:blue mountain
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $1800.00
    Purchased At:used off of pinkbike.com
Strengths:no brake bobb, light enough weight, single crown so its good for freeride. good components, and handles ever thing very nicely.
Weaknesses:rear linkage has a bit of give, but a few spacers fixes that up. original price in stores is a little pricey.
Bike Setup:Upgraded from stock:double tracks, with dt swiss hubs, avid juicy sevens, SDG DJ seat, Swinger 6-way, sun Ringle pedals.
Bottom Line:I bought this bike off of an up and coming pro, named James Doerfling, he rides out in kelowna BC, with a few minor sponsors. He rode the hell out of this bike, and u can tell with all the scratches, and a couple dents, and yet, this bike screams for more. You can point this bike down any trail, towards any jumps, or drop, and it will shred it up. No other bike compares to this thus far, that i have riden. It climbs like a goat, and sucks up any obstacle in its path. When i first got the bike, i was afraid i made a wrong purchase, but after riding it for one day, i knew i have never bought a better bike. I think ironhorse, has really done an awesome jobs with the 7point series bikes. This bike is for those that first must ride to the top of the trail before u can ride down, and this bike is good for any freerider, looking for a handle everything bike.

Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Bottom Line:I just want to put in my two cents about my friends 7Point7 for anyone reading. I highly doubt that what happened to the previous reviewer resembles this bike, or Ironhorse Bikes as a company. I'm 6' and 205lbs, and leg press 800lbs without a hiccup. My freind who owns this bike is 6'2 230lbs and has been seen with 1000lbs on the leg press. I've also seen him on a vid cam drop off a 15' rock to a somewhat transitioned landing... I rode it afterwards and could not tell that it has been through this! Sometimes there is quality control issues with the materials themselves... Sometimes the riders just do not know to control themselves. Be glad IronHorse recognizes the problem and takes care to eliminate it!!!
I plan to buy this or it's next generation to pair with my 2005 Warrior Hardtail.
