$2130.00 | | Purchased At: | private seller | | Strengths: | Kinda light, spec say 18,5 kilos , looks neat - 10 year old kids will scream "nice bike", the honeys seems to like it too, but they dont scream it out (sadly), good pricerange, sram is said to be better on dh bikes. I got the medium size, suits me, Im 178 cm long and weigh in at 100kg (im well-muscled ;) ). | | Weaknesses: | Have not figured out how to tune the fork yet. The instruction manual (Marzoccis) is bad. I suspect I have to add some more air in it, perhaps even some oil, but the oil might be pretty hard since I dont know how to get into the fork.
The double front cogs may have to go, as it have already jammed and wont go on the lower cog, also some chainsuck already. The stuff to make it a 9-speed is included though, thats neat. The pedals seems weak (wellgo) and will be replaced when they are properly banged up. | | Similar Products Used: | Tested Santa Cruz Bullit, SC V10, Kona Stinky | | Bike Setup: | Stock 07 nitrous 20 - Marzocci 180 mm 66 RV, Fox vanilla, sram x7, hayes nine with 203mm discs, sun rims singletrack rims, mine also have a chainguid of some sort, of unknown brand. | | Bottom Line: | I like it, it is what I could afford, I looked also on the Giant Glory 1 which seems real nice, but was a bit out of my pricerange. Im gonna use it for tearing down rocky paths and light dh. Its easy to bunny jump.
It feels light and competent, forgiving on the rocks, easy to lay down in curves, the single crown fork allows more turning ability. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$3000.00 | | Purchased At: | Melbourne Bikes | | Strengths: | Nice plush forks and shock, great brakes, strong frame | | Weaknesses: | none i can think of | | Similar Products Used: | Other nitrous with different set-ups (3 of my mates have one each and each one is costimised) | | Bike Setup: | Marzocchi 66's, Fox DHX 3.0, Hayes 9, Shimano Deore shifters and derailluer | | Bottom Line: | My mate actually owns this bike but he lets me ride it heaps.
It's a great bike. It takes 5 foot drop so smoothly. Great for freeriding or whatever you throw at it. Makes any trail seem smooth. Would defintly recomend one | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$1800.00 | | Purchased At: | Brookvale Bike Factory | | Strengths: | i Have just got the 06 and road it for the first time at redhill. it was the most best feeling iv ever had on a dually.... so smooth every thing is good, great, evn spectacular | | Weaknesses: | only one. Thje fact that i got a 16 speed and they can't hold chainguides. Its louderwhen dropping and the chain comes off but iv only used it once so it might change | | Similar Products Used: | DMR trailstar, Kona Stuff(cuz bike), then iv tried giant glory 8, bighit 05 and 07, demo 7, norco A-line, eastern 26 slash7 coil. | | Bike Setup: | 2006 STOCK. | | Bottom Line: | great bike... didnt go wrong for first owning of a dually. Rides welll. If u have a chance for one of these cheap buy it worth it..... RIDE ON GUUYYYSSSS | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$2800.00 | | Purchased At: | Dales Cycles, Glasgow | | Strengths: | Strong Frame, Decent spec for the money, strong wheels | | Weaknesses: | WEIGHT!!!!! The manitou metel rear shock | | Similar Products Used: | Kona, Specialized | | Bike Setup: | 2005 Nitous 20, Stock except, Rockshock Domains 318 with U-Turn, MRP LRP with 36/22 set-up, Mavic XM321 on Hope Pro2 hubs and Fire Eye Black Crown Stem | | Bottom Line: | Great 1st time full susser for the money I paid, worth upgrading but this is a heavy bike if you like to do a bit of everything. You need strong legs if your doing any XC or uphills on this. It really comes into its own going down the hill though, tracks well, holds the corners well but you have to make it work to get the best from it due to its weight. I've given it 5 chilis for value as the stock set up was so good to start with and its upgrade potential but 4 chilis for overall due to the weightof the bike and rear shock that it came with. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$2200.00 | | Purchased At: | Leisure Lakes | | Strengths: | Never before has a bike quite made me feel so good. It rides like a dream. So solid to ride yet not too heavy. Looks spot on. Ideal for anybody with all mountain spec and freeride frame (2005 version I own anyway)so it fills all tastes
| | Weaknesses: | The new ones look more like Kona's | | Similar Products Used: | Scott MC50 | | Bike Setup: | Stock | | Bottom Line: | The bike for all people, especially me as the local burgulars cannot nick it. It is good for xc riding yet has the ability to astond you with it's strength and stability. The newer ones are more freeride orientated and these are only around 2nd hand. I think that perhaps the Orange bikes and some Santa Cruz bikes are similar so try looking there too. BUY ONE ASAP!!! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$1300.00 | | Purchased At: | incycle | | Strengths: | Oh so Smooth. Pedals great, runs great downhill. Super strong, feels rigid in every way. have put it through some abuse and it takes it all. better get good gear cause this bike will make you ride beyond your limits. | | Weaknesses: | pedals suck, but everyone likes different things so why would they try and suit everyone when most people will complain any way. | | Similar Products Used: | KHS Dominatrix, Iron Horse Warrior Elite. | | Bike Setup: | Primo Pro pedals, azonic hot seat. ODI grips, they are the exact same as the ones on the bike but i like the security of clamps better. | | Bottom Line: | Great all around bike, the swingarm geometry makes it pedal so nice uphill. adjustable rear travel for when you know you wont need it all rides. Great components, forks will soon be switched out with fox talas forks. If there is still any at a shop pick it up, you will not regret it, get it before someone else does. Thank god they came back to the U.S. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$1100.00 | | Strengths: | Quick and easy to ride. Eats up the bumps, rocks. tree stumps etc. don't forget it is 1.5" stem compatible. | | Weaknesses: | Z1FR3 forks could be better, I changed them for the FR1s, standard pedals are poor (424s) break easily. | | Bike Setup: | Forks Z1FR1, changed tripple chainset to Raceface 36/24 dual setup. E13 DRS chain device (the best). Hone Crankset (external BB), Crank Brothers Mallet Cs | | Bottom Line: | Although it is a freeride bike, you will be supprised to keep up with the XC riders. Great for downhill and freeriding not bad for general XC (depends if you have strong legs). ETA is useful on the climbs (don't forget to turn it off)
Excellent value for money. With a few changes it becomes an excellent bike. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$3500.00 | | Purchased At: | manila | | Strengths: | strenght, look, price, pedals well, low mantenance required, very good for freeride | | Weaknesses: | not that manouvrable, slow cornering | | Bike Setup: | stock except sun double-tracks, michelin DH 2.5 tires, formula extreme brakes, marzocchi 66 rc2x (awesome) | | Bottom Line: | this is a follow up, after almost 1 year of using her my impression is still very positive, this bike is 100% reliable, I did some upgrades to increase the downhill performances and now the bike is perfect, probably her only weakeness is the slow cornering, it takes a lot of energy to make her turn, but it's not a dowhill bike so that's asking too much. Now it weights 19.5kg, it's still possible to pedal but for long climbs you better take it easy! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Beverly Date Reviewed: May 18, 2005 | | Favoriate Trail: | Diablo Freeride Park | | Duration Product Used: | Tested or demo'ed only | | Strengths: | Frame and geometry felt very balanced, it's overall handling impressed me. Hayes brakes, Manitou Metal RP shock was better than I expected. Very little pedal bob. | | Weaknesses: | Didn't really like the Z1 freeride fork it wasn't very smooth, but it was a demo bike that's had a lot of use, that may have had something to do with it, I don't know. | | Similar Products Used: | C'dale Jekyll, and briefly rode a Kona Stinky, and S.C. Vp-Free | | Bike Setup: | Manitou Metal RP shock, Marazocchi Z1 Freeride fork, Hayes hfx-9 8"f 6"r disc brakes, Shimano Deore cranks shifters etc. Scott 2.35 inch tires and Alex rims. | | Bottom Line: | I was really impressed with the bike and how it handled I took it to some fairly rocky trails, and I found myself looking for the hardest lines through rock gardens, and anything I could find to jump off of, just because it was rolling over everything so easy. (I didn't go too big because it was a demo and not mine but I wanted to.) It just ate up everything I threw at it. I didn't really like the Marzocchi fork, it just didn't seem that smooth on smaller stuff. So I just orderred a Nitrous 10 with the Manitou Sherman on it. (Look for my review on that in a couple weeks.) I can't stress how impressed I was with how it handled in rock gardens. Oh almost forgot... it climbed better than my trail bike for short rocky climbs, long ones were more tiring because the extra weight.
Oh and as for who should buy it, someone looking for a bike that bombs down rough downhill trails feeling like a DH bike or a bike that can handle medium size drops but then can still ride on flat trails keeping up with your friends on their trail bikes, or climb without all the weight or extreme DH geometry. (68.5 head angle, I thought that was steeper than I wanted but it handled great decending) Giving it 4 chili's because the Z1 fork, and Deore as opposed to Deore XT parts that are on the Nitrous 10, otherwise it would be 5. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$2902.00 | | Purchased At: | Wades Cycles | | Strengths: | 7 Inches of super-plush travel which easily sucks up all the stuff I can throw at it. Good components for the price. | | Weaknesses: | 150mm fork as standard, SPD pedals as standard, white bike looks dirty quicker! | | Bike Setup: | As Stock | | Bottom Line: | This is my first real big-bounce rig and I'm totally stoked to be riding it. Everything feels really tight and I've had no problems as yet, besides a broken rear mech hanger following my crash into a tree. Decided to get the seat post cut down too, cause even tho it has a progressive post you can't run the seat super low without it interfering with the shock.

$2000.00 | | Purchased At: | Herb Bauer Cycling | | Strengths: | Frame stiffness is second to none. The swingarm pivot is a one piece axle with quadrouple sealed bearings around it. The bike feels like one piece of metel. The eta on the bombproof Z1 fork is a blessing for the climbs and the low maintenance manitou metel coil over shock works just fine for all comditions. It's also one of the best looking bikes out there. Now I know why they were the no. 1 brand in Europe. | | Weaknesses: | Deore front cranks? | | Similar Products Used: | Kona stinky, Bullit, Enduro sx. | | Bike Setup: | Switched the stem to titec and saddle to sdg bel aire. | | Bottom Line: | Get one. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$2500.00 | | Purchased At: | manila | | Strengths: | looks great, pedals well, rear shock, ETA, very good overall performances, price | | Weaknesses: | my feet sometimes touch the frame while pedaling, no istruction manual for rear shock, my front brake was too full of oil in the circuit, some components are cheap ones (wheelsets, crankset) | | Similar Products Used: | banshee chapparal, fuji adv. super lite | | Bike Setup: | Z1Fr3, metelRP, ecc... | | Bottom Line: | I'm enjoying this bike a lot, it elevated my limits in downhill and pedals so well, the suspensions work very well and let the tires stay glued to the terrain, actually don't know how to use the "platform" of the shock:) the marzocchi is a positive surprise, with the ETA it goes uphill like a XC bike....even if some components are cheap I had no problems so far, we shall see if they last but considering the price this bike is really a good deal, in a word 100% fun. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Fresno, CA Date Reviewed: February 1, 2005 | | Favoriate Trail: | Poop shoot | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Purchased At: | Herb Bauer Cycling | | Strengths: | The frame is stout. The Marzoochi Z1 is capable of pretty much anything I've thrown so far. The geometry is more on the all mountain side so it pedals great. The telescopic seatpost is a nice touch too. | | Weaknesses: | Could have been spec. with a burlier crank and bottom bracket. Alex wheels aren't the greatest but they'll do. The moto-style fender probably won't impress most riders either. | | Similar Products Used: | Kona stinky, big hit, k2 tirade. | | Bike Setup: | z1 fr3 fork with 130 to 150 adjust. Hayes 9's. LX cranks. Most of the aluminum and the tires are made by scott. Just as good as anyone else's. Manitou metal rp adjust in the rear. | | Bottom Line: | Awesome looking bike with versatility. Pedals great, decends with the best. For a lighter more all mountain ride, try the nitrous sl series. They have the same frame but with a ligher build and Nixon's on both models. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
