$2800.00 | | Strengths: | plush | | Weaknesses: | centre of gravity too high | | Bottom Line: | i personally prefur a bike with a lower ventre of gravity and a little less suspension, simply becuase i have ridden every run at panorama and whistler on this bike and my rocky mountain slayer, and i find that i did not need eight inches of suspension, and that a bike wih six inches and a low centre of gravity.
on this bike i could go either way but due to personal preferance im going with three chillis | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

The price is so worth the ride. trust me you will be satisfied with this ride and will have a lot of fun with it, plus it just looks damn good | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$1100.00 | | Purchased At: | pro deal | | Strengths: | Trustworthy four bar linkage, Kona beefyness, one of the beefest out there. | | Weaknesses: | Slight amount of brake jack, but I don't really grab much brake. HEAVY | | Similar Products Used: | Big Hit ,Haro DH | | Bike Setup: | 888rc, full diablous, Sun 8 tracks, Sram XO, Azonic saddle, many types of tires mainly Nevgals and Minions | | Bottom Line: | Great bike for all around hucking and downhilling wouldn,t ever really want to pedal it hard unless its in a kokapelli down situation where it is mostly down with some short verts. I love my Kona. FSR and VPP rule, but four bar is a close second. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$2800.00 | | Purchased At: | Kona S.A | | Strengths: | Frame Design, good all round spec! good value for money. and most important, it looks awsome!
| | Weaknesses: | Grips, chain need to be changed and 2004 Jnr T rattles! (but still works well) | | Similar Products Used: | Tried Giant AC, Big Hit, Stinky & Coiler. | | Bike Setup: | stock except fitted a fr derailer and RaceFace evolve double chain ring crank. | | Bottom Line: | Now that i fitted the a double chain ring 22:32 the bike is more Versatile, more freeride than DH. Not the best for up hills but not as bad as some freeride bikes I tried (but I didnt buy it for up hills), a slow comfortable pace will get you to the top (shuttle is better). Downhills on this rig make any uphill worth it, this is the bike I wanted and when it comes time for a new one! it will be another Kona Stab. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$2600.00 | | Purchased At: | bikehut- uk | | Strengths: | stiff as you like rear end, plush travel, race worthy straight from the box, Scott Beaumont wins races on it!!!! Superb value as a package-the complete bike would be near 3000 pounds to build individually (3800 dollars approx). Watch New World Disorder films to see what the Kona frames can take- you can't break them!! | | Weaknesses: | Paint finish wears if you don't protect it with patches. Tyre clearence looks a bit dodgy, but i've had no probs yet. Heavy compared to some dh bikes, but does that matter? Not to me! I bought a large frame, which had a stiffer spring on the rear, but stock forks were way too soft: had to uprate the springs at extra cost originally | | Similar Products Used: | 1999 Kona Stab- older design which got stolen! Specialized Big-Hit (Superb Value for money but 24in wheel specific), Orange Patriot LT | | Bike Setup: | Kona Stab 2004, Saint Cranks/bb/chainring, Monster t 2005 fork, Hope seat clamp and azonic A-frame pedals- everything else stock | | Bottom Line: | If you want a bomb proof, reliable, race preoven, well-specced DH bike, then you can't go far wrong with the Stab. Critics will complain about the weight, tyre clearence, or the lack of a floating brake pivot- balls to those people- they need to get out and ride more. Watch New World Disorder (I,II,III,IV) and see that Kona dominate the Canadian freeride scene for a good reason... | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
