Description:2007 marks the Turner DHR's seventh year on the NORBA and World Cup pro downhill race circuits. That's a lot of history to build upon, and the 2007 DHR's design showcases many years of experience and winning. The 2007 DHR's basic architecture maintains our tried-and-true 8.5' travel and proven roller bearing shock linkage. Departures from our old design include round tubing on the new model. This change saves weight without sacrificing torsional rigidity. Through extensive finite element analysis we were able to lower the 2007 DHR's weight by nearly two pounds and still meet our goals for strength. With our increased racing efforts in Europe in 2006 we were able to substantially expand our R&D input from World Cup riders. This resulted in a more compact frame for quicker handling, a reduction in BB height and a more relaxed head angle for even greater high-speed stability. Long noted for it's downhill speed, the 2007 DHR will out sprint, out corner and outlast the other downhill race frames on the market.

MSRP $2,495

Features/Benefits:

Favoriate Trail:changes daily
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $25.00
Purchased At:from Turner
Strengths:Turning
speed
stability
weight
Weaknesses:price, but you get what you pay for.
Similar Products Used:Other DH rigs
Bike Setup:888RC3, Codes, DPS32 wheels and other matchy matchy stuff
Bottom Line:This bike is fast. If you're not going fast enough it's not the bike's fault. It's light, and what little weight IS there is low so it's great in the corners.

That said, it's quite good at freeriding duties even though tight skinnies are a little more difficult due to the longer wheelbase. It's a small price to pay for the speed and stabilty that the frame offers. It seems to hit that magic point between fast and agile, all the while being strong enough for a 230lb hack with a penchant for coming up short on gaps like me.

Did I mention that the bike turns well? since buying this frame I've found myself hitting the easier trails with banked corners instead of the trails with steeps and big airs just because railing the berms is just so much damn fun!

As a bit of a gearwh0re (aren't we all) I've always lusted after other bikes. The grass is always greener sort of thing. After riding the new DHR I look at other bikes with pure academic interest, I no longer long for another ride (save for other DHRs with better paintjobs. Also, it turns really well.

Favoriate Trail:Livigno downhill course
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:Sponsored
Strengths:- Stifness
- Corners really well!
- low center of gravity
- Very stable at high speeds
- lost weight, aprox. 2 lbs
+ much more...
Weaknesses:.. None so far.
Similar Products Used:Santa Cruz Bullit, Orange 224, Iron Horse Sunday and Specialized Demo 8.
Bike Setup:Turner DHR 2008 w. Boxxer fork
Bottom Line:"It takes corners like the Sunday. Pedals like the 224. Feels like a Demo 8 in the air. But mostly it reminds me of the Bullit aside from the fact that the DHR feels so much better regarding almost everything!"

Most people tend to compare the DHR series with the previous model and now I know why. It really shouldn't be compared to anything else than it's predecessor. You should without doubt try this bike out, if you're looking for a new downhill machine. I've never been any more satisfied..!
