Strengths:Just SWEEEEET........Very, very efficient pedaler. Corners like it's on a rail. Absorbs the biggest hits and drops with no problem. If that Fox 40 had a lock out, this would be my "Do It All Bike". Yeti has always paid attention to detail on their bikes and this one is no exception.

Bottom Line:Probably the best downhill bike design for many years to come. Does everything well. A little heavier than some, but, will probably out last most of the lighter bikes. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK YETI !

Strengths:i just wanted to tell people with this frame that theres a second valve that you have to inject grease into, i talked to some owners online and they didnt know this, including one bike mechanic.
Weaknesses:there are too rails, and both need greased, ealsy done tho takes five minuits
Similar Products Used:nothing like this frame
Bike Setup:40, saints all round and srs
Bottom Line:you can clean the whole of the rail easly without taking it apart, get yourself an old tooth brush and sit on the bike, the back of the rail will expose itself when you look down if your sitting on the bike, 2 seconds is needed to push the brush through and your done, does the job brilliantly. (sorry this isnt really a review, i jus dont want anyone to ruin a machine they paid thousends for.

Strengths:super fast, no brake jack or pedal bob. just gains speed as u hit rocks and stuff. i would never buy anything else EVER. it makes u faster.
Weaknesses:YETI BLOWS A BIG COCK AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALL LIES. my bike didnt come with grese gun or owners manual. they said my shop stole it. hard to believe when i opened the box. the bike had a ton of flex when i pedaled. apperantly "my bike shop loosened all the bolts before i got there" again hard to believe when i opened the box. no big deal i tightened them.

the ride height guage is upside down and i dont know how to fix it.

u have to grease it if u consider that a weakness.
Similar Products Used:DEMO 9, various bighits, diamondback strike.
Bike Setup:large 303 with fox 40, code brakes, industry nine wheels, and lots of other goodies.
Bottom Line:the fastest most efficient bike on the market when/if setup right. totally worth getting but beware itl take u a while to get it to work and dont depend on yeti for help. it is the best bike i have owned though so i cant complain too much.

    Favoriate Trail:Fort William
    Duration Product Used:6 months
Purchased At:Custom Built in UK for around £6000
Strengths:Solid/stiff frame and design, Pedals really really well, weight is not an issue, looks amazing, lots of small attention to detail such as cable routing, paint job and frame adjustments
Weaknesses:Nothing really but if i was to moan at something it would be access to the bottom car/rail to clean off excess grease is restricted, meaning a full strip down of rear end and cleaning needs to be done every once in a while to keep it running smooth.
Similar Products Used:Kona Coiler Dee-lux, minor test rides on some DH bikes.
Bike Setup:Fox 40RC2's, Raceface Diablous Everything, E-thirteen chain device, Mavic EX721 with Hope bulb fr and Pro2 Rear, Fox DHX 5 (Pushed,Ti spring),Shimano XT groupset
Bottom Line:Most noticable thing about the whole bike is the way the bike pedals, it is amazing no matter what - at slow speeds or full-speed down a DH track, getting on the pedals through a section will not result in any pedal induced bob and loss of power and the same goes for brake-jacking there isn't any.

As for the rails, look after them and they will look after you, they are not a hassle and just need a little bit of care now and then, a minor price to pay for having such a plush and solid DH bike. Paint job is of a very high standard.

Price is high especially with a high spec component set to match the frame but then you get what you pay for and thats the bottom line!

Go get one if you can afford it! Mine wants some yeti friends :-)

    Purchased At:bromley bike shop
Strengths:amzingly fast and takes a huge drop in with ease. i cant believe poeple are moaning about this bike being heavey and about the rail system, its exacly what a dh bike should be. i almost got a v-10 but im glad i got this, its a better ride and takes the corners alot faster. i may marry thi bike...
Weaknesses:like that guy sed, little bits are hard to clean like the back of the rail, wat i do is sit on the bike and get a cloth and poke it threw, easy and quike.
Similar Products Used:i dont think theres anyhting like this
Bike Setup:fox 40 and dhx 5.0, dt swiss hubs, srs e-13 and saints
Bottom Line:best thing ive ridden ever. you can drop in huge on this thing and it'l hold you on, its worth the amount of money although wait a while and it will get cheaper. the rail system gives you smooth rides and even climbs well and theres hardly any bob. but theres no loss to suspension when doin the big stuff.

this bike is very expensive tho and does need a little workin on now and then, i only recomend this if you're seriouse about the sport.

GIRLS; my girl rides this bike and she has no probs dropin in and throwing it around. need more girls in this sport.

    Weaknesses:none that i know of
everyone that put that its heavy are complete morans
if you want a high dh bike that will go fast then you have to have wieght
the more wieght you have the more mass gravity has to act on
it not ment to ride up the mountain. just down it
thats why its called a DOWNHILL bike
Similar Products Used:none like this bike

Strengths:the rails work really well. the bikes is solid when going through a tecnical section. pedals alright. not that heavy if you build it light.
Weaknesses:a weakness i can think of would be that you have to grease the rails aftera full day riding, but it only takes 5 minutes and i do it after i wash it.
    Similar Products Used:new V-10, M3.
Bike Setup:Fox 40, Saint Cranks, Dt swiss wheels, Hayes mag.

Favoriate Trail:Highland Mountain Bike Park in NH
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Purchased At:Souhegan Cycleworks
Strengths:Super fast bike, it just accelerates over small and med. sized bumps without losing traction or getting knocked off line. Details such as cable routing, paint finish and access to shock adjustments are well thought out.
Weaknesses:Frame is a little heavy, lots o' bolts, difficult to clean.
    Similar Products Used:Tomac 204
Bike Setup:Fox 40, Juicy 7's, Diablos all throughout, DT 440 hubs, mavic rims
Bottom Line:This bike has made me a faster rider. I rode the bike side by side with a V10 and the V10 felt smoother, but the yeti was much faster and held a line better. You can hear the bearings in the rail cars moving back and forth in a parking lot squish test but on the trail you don,t notice it. Lubing the rails is super easy and they are not affected by mud or dust as I have raced it in some very muddy courses.

Bottom line, if you have the cash and are willing to wait a little while, get one. It will be the best DH race bike you have owned.

Strengths:THE best DRY WEATHER dh bike. tracks great, sticks like glue, and doesn't feel as heavy as it is.
Weaknesses:heavy, goofy looking (positive?) and annoying color scheme. Once things get super dusty, or muddy for that matter, them rails get all clogged up and suspension quality goes out the window. It stays active, but doesn't feel smooth.

    Purchased At:Ute City Cycles (Cost)
Strengths:This thing is unbelieveable. When you hit a fast straight away with small breaking bumps or rock garden, it accelerates you right them. Its a weird feeling. Wheel path is awesome. Suspension is Super plush, and very different than any other bikes.
Weaknesses:Weight, the frame is incredibly heavy but you could just build it light if you want. Hard to clean the grease off. Pain in the butt to grease everytime you wanna ride.(But what happens if you dont grease it? will it burn up!?) Also, it felt a big rougher than other bikes such as M3 and V-10, but I learned the 303 tracks the ground better than those bikes. The m3 and v-10 sort of float above the bumbs, as the 303 holds the wheel on the ground better for better traction. Also, if you get this bike, jsut make sure you tighten all the bolts down, or else your rear triangle will not be aligned up with the front. If you dont tighten down your bolts, you will see. These arent really weaknesses, but they are things i have experienced in the past.
Similar Products Used:M3, V-10, asx, faith, glory,
Bike Setup:Fox 40, Diablous Everything, Atomb lab wheels, maxxis min. Avid J. 7 brakes.
Bottom Line:This is an awesome bike. If you want the #1 dh bike on the market, this would be it. This is the best bike ever for dh. The wheel path is very unique, and the feeling of the bike is like no other. It pedals better than any bike out there,(I know that for sure) and it has no brake jack. Now what else do you want in a dh bike???

Purchased At:bought in the Uk for equivelant of $5800
Strengths:Rail system pure plushness, Grease ports, Build quality and finish, yetis website is outstanding all the support you need and they support racing which speaks volumes,
Weaknesses:With reference to deza's review i think the fact he has only sat on the bike and not ridden it for any length of time speaks volumes for his review being what it is, Without riding this bike properly he shouldnt have even submitted a review.

the only issue i have had with the 303 is that the area at the back of the rails is tricky to get to if you want to clean them. but that is it. oh a lot of bolts to keep tight!
Similar Products Used:Super8, Bullit, M3, Uzzi VPX, Uzzi SLX, Tazer VPP, Tazer HT, Demo 9, Patriot 7+, ASX, yeti 575 all owned
Bike Setup:fox 40 rc2, saint, chris king, thompson, mavic, michelin,Sram X.0, Crank Bros, Flite
Bottom Line:I have owned many bikes over the years and this is the best one i have ridden the only other that comes close is the M3 which i sold to get the 303 the reason being is that i bent 2 rear ends and so with riding the shore and whistler all the time i wanted a bike that was way stronger which the yeti is. It is around 2lb heavier than the M3 but worth it for the amount of strength gained from the burley construction. I used to live in shefffield, Uk and then moved to vancouver canada. the terrain here is nforgiving and this bike eats it up even on a 15min downhill at whistler it just performs. The rail system is so good that the first ride on the bike i felt straight away how the rear wheel was moving up and backwards, this thing is like a rocket it just plows over rock gardens and roots. I have now ridden it in some pretty wet conditions and its performance is excellent and it is still going strong no flex, no play nothing. I make sure after every ride that i jetwash it down and squirt some grease in to the grease nipples on the cars and im done. Greasing the cars after every ride on a 5 minute downhill in the UK!!!!!! i dont know where he got that from and it really does confuse me when i read that as i have never had to grease the cars that much for as long as i have owned the bike, you grease before the ride and your done for the day. no hassle i just do it when i am lubing the chain.. The paint finish is excellent, there are a lot of bolts to check but hey that the price you pay for a performance piece of kit, i check em when watching TV... The sizing i find is fairly big, i have a small frame and am 6 foot 2" but then i like to be able to flick the bike around, if you like it bigger then a medium wold be perfect.

When i got one of th first demo 9's every one was slagging that of for having too many pivots, a year later it came down in price and now everyone owns them and no one moans about all the pivots of which there were the same amount as a V10

This thing rules you wont regret purchasing one

and like the Demo if it comes down in price i can honestly see 20 percent of downhillers, freeriders riding a 303

    Date Reviewed: July 24, 2006
Duration Product Used:Tested or demo'ed only
Strengths:The 303 looks cool as hell the quality of the frame is amazing, this is a true race bike,
Weaknesses:as soon as i sat on the first 303 which was a small i noticed it was like a bmx to ride, then i got on a large and it felt the same size as my small Yeti DH9, which i thought was odd, (I'am 5ft 11" tall and i need a large?)
Then there are the rails the two bikes I tried where Yeti Europe team bikes and both the back ends felt worn out, it was a dusty race and the suspension felt like it was ten years old, there was more friction on the bake end than a v-brake with a bent wheel with grip tape on the rim,so really the design has a big problem, the weekend i tried it was pure dust, so what happens when you get to a muddy race, plus the team were having to grease the rails every run(a bit to much hassle for me)
Similar Products Used:Yeti DH9, Intense M3,Orange 224,Giant DH team and another Yeti DH9
    Bike Setup:Team bikes(full pro build)
Bottom Line:This could be the best ever bike made for DH racing, but the rails let it down alot, the bikes were nearly new but they felt like they had done 5 years of racing with out ever getting serviced,(they did look cool though)
As soon as yeti sort out the rails and cars so that you can run them for a full season with out touching them I would stay well clear of this bike(I was going to order one but now I am going to keep my DH9 instead)but if you have a personal mechanic you would be ok.
