Purchased At:classifieds
Strengths:9 stinking inches... price, ultra-burly construction, rear hub included, 4 bar linkage, floating rear brake, DHX-5.0, needle bearings w/ grease ports, oh and burly construction!
Weaknesses:quite heavy, brake and shift lines on the top tube, high stand-over, aesthetics are quirky at first, but they really grow on you
Similar Products Used:yakuza, stinky, scream
Bike Setup:888RC, avid, e13 SRS, race face crank, black spire ring, azonic outlaw, other decent bits
Bottom Line:Suspension is very active and plush. Get the floating rear brake, and rid yourself of brake jack. The bike is heavy(well over 45lbs depending on build). The head tube is gusset'd and butted. The downtube/BB/seat tube assembly have a block of solid aluminum to add strength and rigidity. Floating rear brake is a nice option. Good support. Emails were promptly returned (within minutes).

Overall, very high performance for the money. Quite possibly the sturdiest frame available in this price range. There aren't many bikes with 9" travel, w/ rear hub and floating rear brake for less than $1500. This bike tempts you to push the envelope. It inspires confidence on the sketchiest stunts. It's not a cookie cutter bike, it gets lots of attention. Make no mistake: It's heavy for for DH or anything else, but if you're into (lift-accessed) FR, then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $850.00
Purchased At:bought used
Strengths:The design: It has very little flex, feels like a motocross frame, 0 chain stretch from swinarm sharing the pivot point with the crank, floating rear break keeps the rear wheel moving over the bumps under breaking. Good customer support.
Weaknesses:Haven't found any yet
Similar Products Used:Giant AC 2
Bike Setup:888 8" fork, diabolus bars, hayse brakes, Hussafeller crank, E13 guide, sun singlewide rims with Stan's tubles system on Maxxis mobster 2.7 front 2.5 rear.
Bottom Line:This frame rips. It allows me to shoot down runs pedaling and not touching the breaks where I used to be cacouse. It stay's on line and hugs the corners, takes jumps and drops silky smooth. I have not yet raced it and can't wait to get it out in competition.

I have so far only contacted Versus once with a question but they where very friendly and quick with a response. They also told me to bring the bike by once I finished putting it together and they would help me set it up. I live about an hour away and plan to take them up on the offer.

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $1400.00
Purchased At:TrailHeadCycles.com
Strengths:This bike rocks! - indestructable as it is, it handles surprisingly well going down any trail. 30 foot gaps feel like butter with it's 9 inches, and it's forgiving like a priest. Very affordable with excellent customer service if you have any questions. Awesome welds, 100mm BB, swingarm construction and other parts make this bike almost indistructable. Can you tell I LOVE this bike? - Make sure you order a floating rear brake with it, otherwise you might not get the full enjoyment out of this frame.
Weaknesses:Let's say, don't take it on any XC rides - it's not it's intended use anyways. ISCG mounts would be fine but not necessary. I put the chain between 2 bash guards and never dropped it.

Bottom Line:If you ever think that what you're doing might disintegrate your bike, the Weapon X can give you piece of mind without shredding your wallet to pieces. It handles surprisingly well, once the going gets tough this frame starts to shine.
