Looks great, incredibly strong, loads of adjustment and rear wheel travel
Weaknesses:
Bit heavy, actually got a 2003 fr model but upgraded everything including dh 5th element shock which gives me 9.5" of travel. It weighs 17.8kgs not bad for a bike of this type.

Bottom Line:
This bike is great. I have owned it for nearly 2 years and its still as tight as the day it came out of the factory and hasn't missed a beat. I've been off drops of all sizes from 5ft to 15ft, high speed and low speed it soaks it all up in its stride can't fault it. And then the handling, wow! if you chuck it into a long, high speed corner it will stick there very agile for this kind of bike, and even low speed technical trails it is still very very good. I have tried it on xc territory and it is a bit hard work, but if you have the time to stop then you can fiddle around and set it up fairly well and trust me its worth it! Bottom line is buy it, it will not disoppoint you. You can set it up for your type of riding style within minutes. EXCEPTIONAL DOWNHILL BIKE!!

Strengths:
looks sexy as sh*t, pictures on computer do it absolutally no justice. increadably light for a double springer only wieging somthing lik 16kg. hayes brakes rule when they bed in. awsome raceface crankset and wheels and tyres stay grippy and true no matter what you do. with up to 9.44 inchs rear travel it does feal bottemless and with that amont of travel its very hard to resist that 20ft huck on your local trail. apparently the forks suck, i dissagree of course there not as good as 888 or boXXers but they still are plush and offer loads of adjustablity and i havent blown any seals yet. rear shock is nice and plush and has a platform mode.
Weaknesses:
ehh i dented my rear swing arm on the first days ridin but to be fair i was in the air and swung the back end out into a huge rock. i was suprised my frame didnt bend. the forks scracj dead easy but no serois problems also my forks and shock make a strange noise when the rebound has to work hard but again nothing minor. also a lot of pedal bob but changing the rear shock will sort that and also true downhillers wont need to ride cross country

Bottom Line:
Scott should give themself a pat on the back for this downhill rig. great adjustabillity, you can even ajust the head tube angle. looks awsome. components rule including the forks ( if you are serious bout downhill you will need to change these out as they are entry level forks realy but still preform great) a lot of work has gone into this bike and it has paid off thourghally. if you ride downhill and want a high quality build of bike buy this but it is not sutibly for cross country because of the plush rear end.

so far i really like this bike. aside from blowing out the fork the second day i had it. but thats not scotts fault. shame on manipoo for making a crappy fork. so far ive used it for mainly urban assult but im planning on getting it up a lift here sometime in the near future when work permits. maybe more then. im sure it will be all good tho. buy one of these!!!

the frame snapped on the first big drop i did. for riders doing under 3 foot drops it is perfect but any over that and it sucks.

Strengths:
Adjustability, its fairly light and adjustable headtube, can take big hits would make a descent huck bike,fairly good handling, and is confident when taking huge hits.
Weaknesses:
Some of the components spec, the Stance Kingpin sucks I blew it out on an easy trail. The shock offers descent performance, but it blew out too. Suspension is horribly unactive under braking. And the rear only has a quick realease, whats up with that!
A good bike for the money but has weaknesses, great adjustability. with a new parts spec it can be a great DH bike or a crazy stupid hucker, your choice.

Strengths:
Infinite Geometry/Performance Adjustments. Up to 240mm(9.44 inches) of rear travel. Which really feels bottomless. Great component package for $2,000, better than many bikes in the $2,500 range. Stance Kingpin fork is better than expected. Even with all the adjustable features the frame feels rock solid. Lands like a cat! Haven't had it on a downhill course yet, but the bike seems to ride smoother and handle better the faster you go! It pedals better than expected for a single pivot, 43-pound bike. I still can't imagine taking it more than a few short miles uphill. Looks evil, The Scott photo does it no justice. Nice soft freeride seat.
Weaknesses:
Bumpers on fork were slightly out of position and left a very small contact scratch on the frame. Cable route needs some help. Seatpost can hit shock if it is too far down. I CUT MINE AT AN ANGLE, This helps. This problem is shared by other manufactuers as well. Chain can slap the stays outside of the wrap protected area, need more wrap. Turn radius feels a little shorter than others.

Bottom Line:
Has far exceeded my expectations. Demo rode a few other bikes. This Scott was made for me. Corners really fun. Have taken it off 3-4 foot drops and feels like butter. If anything, the bike wants more from me. Given the Scott price reduction, I could not pass it up. I am 6' 220 pounds. Many of the freeride bikes feel too small and very mushy; this one feels pretty good right out the box. Need a few minor adjustments. You could race downhill as is (maybe a fork upgrade for Competition); I will use it mainly as a freeride rig. I would not buy it for long fire road climbs, or to meet your buddy's at starbucks.
