    Purchased At:Simon's bike shop
Strengths:awesome bike, great geometry I love the frame design.
Weaknesses:Bearings, after one season of riding, already loose. 888 bottoms out to much, although I weight 235lbs. If pedaling uphill a bit bouncy.
Similar Products Used:Devinci Ollie, RM pipeline
    Bike Setup:06'RMX 2.0, 888, Fox 4.0DH, SRAM X9 drive train, RaceFace crank,
Bottom Line:I am very satisfied with this bike, I`m 6`2 235lbs and I have the size lrg. The bike fits me very well. From fast technical sections to big drops & jumps It is a great bike. I found the 888 a bit soft, but still the best fork I`ve ever used. Yes the bearings are terrible, I have not replaced them yet but that is soon to come. As well very bouncing it pedaling up hill. A pure downhill machine.

Weaknesses:The bike feels like your riding a wet noodle. the rear end of the bike flexes like crazy. And the suspention design is all but perfect. I really dont like the bearings ither. i was replacing them all the time.

    Strengths:still awesome
    Weaknesses:none yet so far
Bottom Line:this is a follow-up reveiw and i dont know about the guy below me but my rmx is holding up. i had a pretty bad crash at some dirt jumps and broke my elbow, i was sure i had cracked the frame or something but absolutely nothing happend to the bike. not a whole lot is stock any more, but the frame hasnt had any problems, maybe its the fact that its an '04 and they werent trying to save weight as much? also ive only had to replace my bearings once, right after i got it. and they have held up since. if your bearings keep blowing out get DIFFERENT ones than you had before.

Strengths:don't buy rocky stuff. I have been trying to defend them for years now but i'm fed up. the rm series is full of design flaws-bearing problems anyone?- and the chain stays will always be too flexy.
Weaknesses:when you break the bike like i just did be prepared for a rocky rep to say "well the bike is two years old and we won't replace it or give you a crash discount" of course i broke it right at the linkage mount- where they all break, so i'm hooped. and they won't even swing a deal for another frame.
Similar Products Used:i've ridden tons of freeride and dh bikes. there are so many better choices.
Bike Setup:bikes always get ad ons- add another frame on yours.
    Bottom Line:you'll be sorry.
i'm a good rider who was on this bike for 2 seasons, and it constantly caused problems. its funny how whenever i'm at whistler or pano, fernie, kamloops, squamish etc. i see guys riding demo 9's, coves, banshees, stinkys even, santa cruz whatevers, and they are having fun ripping, and the rmx /rm7 guys are either tinkering or wondering what went wrong and why they got bucked off this design monstrousity. i'm not a hater, i'm just fed up and disillusioned about the warranty.
    wanna DH? get a v10 or a demo9
wanna freeride? vp free is good but kinda long, a scream is good but kinda fat, coves are cool-fat too- or else maybe check a kona-theres a bazillion out there so someone should let you test ride their's...

Bottom Line:The bike is awesome, dont get me wrong, but the damn bearings keep popping in the thrust link, ive replaced them once and had not even ridden hard and the f****** bearing cover was off then i tokk downhillin and the other f***** came off! Its really pissin me off cause this is supposed to be one of the best bikes out there, i still love the bike and i geuss ill just have to keep bearings on hand.
Im givin it 5 points for value cause i got a great deal but im givin it 4 overall cause im always worried about the bearings.

*great bike and i did two trips with the messed up bearings so it has never kept me from riding its just frustrating*

Strengths:fork feels real nice, rear shock is smooth, both fork and rear shock feel real good comin off a lip and landing. The vanilla is a great shock, the adjustability works real good. Frame very high quality, aligned flawlessly when welding to make a great frame. hayes brakes are sweet, havent had any problems with them. Blackspire chainguide is sweet as are the race face cranks. the maxxis tires are excellent and hook up nicely
Weaknesses:LX derailleur, im most definitly going to upgrade that. the alexrims that it comes with are weak. I demolished one and i will be gettin a syncros to replace it. The linkage bearings real quick but i got 'em replaced with some big ball bearings and i havent had a problem since. The Jr.T's adjustments dont seem to do anything, i hear this is not uncommon, but i like the fork anyway.
Bike Setup:stock except for a new sram chain (my old one snapped)and some other parts won't be stock soon
Bottom Line:This ride is SICK! I would definitly recommend thi bike to any freerider with the $$$. It holds up to abuse like non other, the rim that i wasted was rider error really, but i would'nt have expected that much damage from what i did. Basically this bike is the $#!t it may not have the absolute best components out there but it is beefy and ready to session. it has performed great for me and i know for a fact it will for anbody else too, it is too beefy not to. (. )( .)

Strengths:The Frame is very solid and the vanilla RC makes it an even better set up. The Jr T fork is plush and very smooth, Hayes 9 are good so far and haven't had any problems yet. The Race face evolve dh w/black spire chain guide is a great set up and is very strong.
    Weaknesses:NOTHING!!!!!!!! except lx derailer
Similar Products Used:Rocky Mountain switch, Kona stinky and stinky dee-lux,Specialized big hit and demo 9.
Bike Setup:stock except odi roque lock-on grips
Bottom Line:This bike is awesome! If your looking for a very high quality freeride/downhill bike the RMX is one of the best bikes out there. Although it is a bit pricy its worth it. The bottom line is that this bike is basically flawless and anyone looking for a high quality bike, the RMX is the right choice.

Strengths:the bike looks great!! the rear suspension is better than that of my dirt bike, the jr t isnt bad very plush i would like to upgrade though the geometry is awesome!!! ive had no problem with the bearings in the linkages or anything like that and i ve kinda hammered this bike (extreme urban) jk
Weaknesses:hmmm i dont really have any problems except the msrp is kinda steep but i got mine for half off so it doesnt apply to me when i go to a ski resort ill really know if there are problems with it one thing i did was doing mini north shore i went off the 2x6 and didnt go far enough and caught the rotor...ouch!!! it was bent in a near 90 degreee angle so i got a new one $27 not bad
Similar Products Used:my bro's intense m1 with triple 8 (just a little better than mine)
    Bike Setup:stock
Bottom Line:the bike works great all though i think for the dough they should put a better fork on it like a super t but its still awesome with the jr t
on this thing i can just roll over like 3 ft tall boulders fun stufff
since i got mine for half price i give it 5 value chilis

    Purchased At:mikes bikes
Strengths:The ride is smooth and floats well off jumps. It delivers with great control. This bike truly handles well.
Weaknesses:I have only had the bike for a short time and I have already broken the thrust link bearings 4 times! The bearings have been installed to factory specs 3 times and still fail(meaning that one time it was not the companies fault). This is truly a hassle, especially when your 12 miles from home. It is truly unexcusable. I question if the bike should even be on the market yet? Something has to be done.
Bottom Line:Am I the only person that this is happening to? The bike rides great for a day or two then you take it back to the shop and wait a week for parts. I hope you are not planning on riding it all the time. I hope Rocky Mountain does something about this before it damages their reputation.

Strengths:juiciest rear i've ever ridden.... 8" goes a long way on the shore, the bike just laughs at anything so far i've thrown her off of. The wiggle of the rm6/7 rear linkage seems to be a thing of the past/ so far....
    Mobster's are high quality
Weaknesses:LX derailer! Deore shifter! for this much jam, bit of a disappointment
    Similar Products Used:rm7/ switch/ pipeline/ shore
Bike Setup:All stock - nothin busted yet

junior T, fox vanilla rc, maxxis mobster's, hxf 9's
Bottom Line:R & D at Rocky continue's to leap forward. But be prepared to pay for it!
Handmade quality & pro's salaries replace the highend parts for good ole' lx, makin' this rig not the best bang for the buck.
Rocky does recognize problems though, Original bearing Co. was dumped for too many blowouts...

At 205 lbs. the Junior is a bit soft for me. Upgrading to the stiffer springs is a simple deal though.

Regardless of the setup though, I bought the bike simply for the frame.

I'll outfit'er with the pimpin' gear one day, until then she's one saucy girl!

Buy one if you make a sweet salary and can justify the cause....
If you part with the cash you will not be disappointed...

Weaknesses:Weaknesses? none!, The bike is a great set up the only thing I want to change is the Jr. T to a 888 But there is nothing wrong with the Jr. T it is a great fork just personal preference
    Similar Products Used:Rm7
Bottom Line:Bottom Line this is a great Bike, Great for little hits and for the big, the thrust link soaks it all up, the quality is awesome if you look at the bike closely and see the famous Rocky Mountain wield and all the nit picky work that goes into it this bike will definitely last no matter where you ride, the Jr. T fork is great, it got a couple bad reviews saying it was noisy? I disagree totally this fork has been great soft quiet handles great, no words, Go Ride a Rocky!

    Weaknesses:Nothing its a RM!!!
    Similar Products Used:RM7
    Bike Setup:stock
Bottom Line:This bike is just awsome it hold up a 20 feet drop. And the vanilla RC eliminate any bob. And I can even go uphill. Sure it is a little heavy but a lighter bike maybe don`t hold up on a bigger drop. If you want to make downhill or freeriding an anything else you can do with this awsome bike!
