| Strengths: | the 06 geometry is spot on 47 wheel base 65 head angle and 14.25 bb height with 888 as low as she goes .powder coated.its a nice and stiff an i have the original bearings after two race seasons. |

| Bottom Line: | i ve been riding peelers for the last 5 seasons its my second one it will be its third season coming up .in 5 seasons i ve replaced my bearings once on 2 frames ,the 06 is very nice new swing arm and all with square stays good and stiff ,if u want a low maintenace bike with good angles and a good price made in canada and powder coated buy the peeler and its not as heavy as it looks its even lighter than a number of other big brand bikes and lighter than the shocker its cove s best kept secret |

| Bottom Line: | the peeler is very stiff for a single pivot... direct power transfer... 5th rear shock is very noisy but it works extremely well...bottomless feel. it really make the peeler tracks very well in the rough!! the peeler could really rail corners very well and predictable. with some pedal feedback and brakejack due to single pivot... it could easily get away with letting go of the brakes and hang on in the rough... the peeler will not disappoint you! you need to ride smart with the peeler...it will give you what you need.... |

| Strengths: | The Peeler is Cove's signature bit hit race bike. In 2004, MBUK concluded the following about that generation of Peeler: "The Peeler is a great overall package - the bike's mean looks are enough to sell it on it's own, the performance is top notch... The Cove Peeler is the burliest single-pivot rig we've tested, it'll take a hammering and keep coming back for more." After a season on the Peeler, I wholeheartedly agree with this conclusion. The Peeler is not the prettiest or most technically complicated bike on the market but it delivers an aggressive-looking bomb-proof package that loves to go big and to go scary fast. Cove has infused this bike with its Whistler and Shore-bred knowledge of what world-class freeriders and racers want. Put these wicked performance characteristics together with zero need for parts and maintenance, add in one of the best prices around on a DH frame ($2400 MSRP for frame and a Fox DHX 5.0), and you have an outstanding package for any rider. |

| Bottom Line: | The Peeler might be cheap O/S, but in Australia $4k is a shed load for a frame (roughly the same as a V10). Luckily, the importer was willing to help us out, and so here we are. It's not a light bike, but the geometry is incedibly dialled so that it rides a lot lighter than it is, and it corners like a rocket (despite the deceptively high bb). Its super stable at speed and floats off jumps and drops. If i could liken it to anything its like riding a Tazer FS after a year on a hardtail- you get on and feel right at home straight away, so you can go harde and faster than normal. The 5th element on this bike sems to feel a lot better than the ones i've ridden previously- it's substancially more active and i think it helps make the bike feel faster. It also seems to be relatively durable too. Being a single pivot you'd assume that the bike would brake jack chronically, but surprisingly it's extremely active and supple under braking. The main downside of the bike is that set at 9.5", the wheel will buzz against the seat under full compression. The trick to riding it out is to stay further forward than you normally would, so you ride the bike from the front as opposed to the rear. The geometry also lends itself to this. The only other thing i dislike is the cable fasteners for the rear mech- its set up to run an open cable for some of the way. i don't know about you, but i would think that being from BC the bikes would run fulll length cable outers, but this is apparently not so. The rear qr is a let down, i think 12 mm axle would be even better, but still.. For the money O/S its a great bike. Over here, maybe not as good. Regardless of the money it deleivers a great ride, one that is as good as some of the pedigree racing frames. |

| Strengths: | -all the shock positions you can play with (BB height, feeling of the shock, headangle, seatposition/weight on backwheel) -really stiff rear end -small cockpit -for huckers and racers -keeps it simple with the QR axle -you can get away with a really stupid ridingstyle -(i think) it's strong as hell. -she looks very sexy (especially in a race setup) -sticks to the ground -cheap (compared to other real DH frames) |

| Strengths: | The geometry is fantastic, it's plush, it suckes up big hits like small bumps. The construction is superb, with great great materials and excellent workmanship. The frame combo with the Progressive 5th Element shock make this big rig remarkably good climber given it's weight. It can take everything The Shore can dish out without so much as a shudder no matter what the speed or size of the drops. |
| Weaknesses: | The only weakness I can see is my choice of the shifters and derailleurs. Should have gone with SRAM X.9 all around rather than XTR. No complaints or weaknesses with the frame and setup otherwise. |

| Bottom Line: | I race XC and love to ride downhill and freeride. I bought this rig to shuttle and take the big drops and fast, rough, rides The Shore dishes out. My downhill riding went to the next level on the first ride. This bike let's you point and shoot anything with confidence. You litterally feel like the bike is attached to you. If you have the dough this bike is second to none. I don't think I could break this puppy in this lifetime. I recommend this bike for anyone who has bad terrain to tame. I rode many and chose one. It's always good going down on my Peeler, especially those long wet Shore rides. |
