a Racer
from new jersey Date Reviewed: September 15, 2007 | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Strengths: | not too heavy. nice looking | | Weaknesses: | noodley, isis | | Similar Products Used: | truvative hussafelt, shimano lx hollowtech, race face turbine lp, race face evolve xc ss. | | Bike Setup: | gary fisher rig. | | Bottom Line: | these cranks flex alot. it drastically decreases efficiency on climbs and acceleration. left crank arm fell off(bolt loosened up) in a race. happened to someone else with the same crankset less than a mile earlier in the race(first lap). i know several other people who have had the same problem, and i've had the same problem with every set of isis cranks i've run. never stays tight after that. switched to the shimano lx hollowtech cranks and noticed an immediate and significant increase in power transfer. i ran the lx's on my other ss29er for over a year with zero issues, and i expect they'll provide me the same worry free performance on this bike. do not buy these bontrager cranks, and if you purchase a bike with them installed, change them at your earliest convenience. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Bari Date Reviewed: June 30, 2007 | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Strengths: | It's there when you buy the Rig. | | Weaknesses: | Everything. | | Bike Setup: | Stock Gary Fisher Rig | | Bottom Line: | This crankset plainly sucks, I just snapped mine after ~1600 miles of mild xc riding. At 5'5 and 165 pounds I'm no clyde and this should never have happened. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Phoenixville, pa Date Reviewed: November 6, 2006 | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Purchased At: | Bike Line, Warminster pa | | Strengths: | Looks, price | | Weaknesses: | Strength weight. | | Similar Products Used: | Too many to list | | Bike Setup: | GF Rig stock | | Bottom Line: | Over all, not bad for stock cranks. They look awsome not too heavy and cheap to replace. I used these for just under a year all over eastern, pa. Right away I noticed a good ammount of flex from them, but decided to deal with it (not that big a deal for a "fun" bike. I managed to bend the right crank arm after 9 1/2 months. If you can find these for $100 or less go for it. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
