$190.00 | | Purchased At: | steed cycles | | Strengths: | light, strong, low-key but sharp looks, general shimano quality, steel pedal inserts | | Weaknesses: | spindle end cap is plastic - they can strip out | | Similar Products Used: | FSA v-drive extr, old XTR, hussefelt | | Bike Setup: | santa cruz vp-free, shiver fork, 40t front ring, 43 lbs | | Bottom Line: | I rocked these cranks ALL SUMMER AT WHISTLER and they are solid. i weigh 150 lbs with gear, but my friend also pounded these at whistler all summer and he's 220 with gear and his are still flawless, except for a few scratches. unless you are Josh Bender you are never going to actually need all the strength a crank like saint or holzfeller provides - those make better boat anchors. why not lighten up a bit? trust me, some cornering drills will improve your game way more than some stiff-ass DH crank! these cranks are reasonably priced and perfect for the weight-conscious downhill racer or freerider.
