Favoriate Trail:always looking
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $180.00
Purchased At:close-out at mail order bike shop
Strengths:Stunning looks, light, stiff, positive shifts, good rings, trick proprietory construction
Weaknesses:new glossy finish dulls fairly easily - who cares!
Similar Products Used:Most all
Bike Setup:Ventana El Saltamontes - custom 6" rear, DHX-c shock, King headset, Bomber AM1, Sram, xtr cassete, Magura Louise brakes, FSA carbon DH bar, stem, XM321 wheels Magura/XT hubs, WTB pure V saddle, motoraptor tires, Time ATAC, etc.
Bottom Line:Unless your hucking or bombing off rocks, this is the ultimate all-mountain crank, very exotic look and top-notch construction throughout. FSA products are sleeper. They offer unparalleled quality, features and designs. I don't know why they get so little cred in the MTB community, as they have already established themselves in the roadie community. Buy if you can!

Favoriate Trail:Lebby
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $240.00
Purchased At:sierra trading post
Strengths:Very light! Good shifting.
Weaknesses:Price
Similar Products Used:Bontrager Race
Bike Setup:8500 trek, XTR derailers and cassette, chris king headset
Bottom Line:Has held up surprisingly well. I'm still really afraid the carbon arms are going to snap and im going to land my nuts on the top tube but it hasn't happened yet after countless 4-5 foot drops. IDK if I should be doing this with this crank but ill let you know if it snaps. I actually like this crankset SO much I went out a month later and bought the road version of this crankset for my road bike. Oh yeah and it is the best looking crank out there period! ---update the picture MTBR.com--- thats the old model

Favoriate Trail:Bluff Point; Groton/New London CT
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $330.00
Strengths:Light, able 175mm, fits a e.thirteen SRS and Supercharger without a hiccup, matches my bikes color scheme to a frackin' 'T'; just said, a mega drool item!
Weaknesses:Darned if I know.
Similar Products Used:Just the facts.
Bike Setup:2005 IronHorse Warrior HT; Marzocchi Drop Off 130mm; BSH Designs 'Prison' bars; FSA DH300 stem, FSA SL-K saddle & post; FSA Team Issue Carbon Pro 175mm crankset; e.thirteen 38T DH CR/ e.thirteen SRS chainguide w/ Supercharger ring; Full Metal Jacket Cabling; 7" F/ 6" R Hayes w/ MX2 calipers; FSA Scatto Skewers, welded 3/8" longer for R thick dropouts; Kenda Nevegals Stick-E 2.1 and/or Kenda Kwest 1.95 tires; soon Small Block Eights.
Bottom Line:This crankset should remove any worries of losing power transfer. I have nothing but praise for FSA.
With as much product as they have, it would be easy for it to be hijacked by money hungry suck-ups. Not the case. I was actually looking to buy the K-force, some $150 MORE, and that these have aluminum tubing connecting the pedal inserts to the spindle seat were what dictated them more suited. This from the company themselves. Incidently, that is the major difference between the two cranksets. The K-Force, I'd say, is race duty only.
If you are out rasing hell on the trails with the K-Force, I KNOW you have worries of tweakin' 'em. These pups are good to go for life.

Duration Product Used:6 months
Purchased At:Wrench Science
Strengths:These cranks hardly weigh a thing and they are cheaper than the XTR crank. They seem to be stiffer than XTR too. I have had no problems with shifting yet
Weaknesses:Numbnuts will tell you how you spent a wad of cash of cranks that are going to begin unraveling. They're numbnuts so who cares.
Similar Products Used:XTR
Bike Setup:Titus Racer X Fox F80RLT and Float R w/ pro pedal
XTR rear, avid sd breakes
Bottom Line:These cranks are awsome so far. They may fall apart after repeated beatings but the verdict is out on that. I have bashed them on rocks in Moab and on Log jumps around here and they don't look anything more than scuffed.

Favoriate Trail:whateveristheknarliest
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $189.00
Purchased At:If I tellya, I'll havetakillya
Strengths:Lighter than the rest-
Stronger and stiffer than the rest-
Way to sexy-
Premium design and finish throughout assembly-
Razor sharp shifts-
Weaknesses:Gotta be kidding me, unless of course you are one of those who feel you have to pay above cost to get the goods.
$189.00 USD is COST fellas, and, $$$ Rules right now so take advantage and ripp the eyes out of your LBS for the goods you want ... kick thier butts off while the dollar rules and the economy is weak (thanks Phuaq-Boy BUSH!)
Similar Products Used:All the XTR models since the M-950s, plus that crap RaceLite wannabe weakass garbage (2002 Fuel 100 weasel bike wannabe trash), and, pretty much everything else that is "supposed to be premium" cranksets.
TruVativ rules on the DH goods though (and maybe the Saint set-up, to some worthy degree).
Bike Setup:If I tellya, well, you know.
But I will say this, the FRENCH frame I have this set-up on is the frame that is the badassofthebad and it rules on everything this side of near death and these 70mm arms and 22-32-44 mated to a 11-34 cassette will let climbes come easier than any other range and the speed will makes you blind from eye watering ... with your Rudys on!
I really like the precision shifts even under really difficult conditions -loads- and the fact that these arms are tough as PHUAQ and do not flex a all, even when you are smashing them with tons of testosterone (430 watts and up).
Bottom Line:These cranks are the Bomb and, way to sext for their clothes -as naked as they are in nude carbon.
They do show the scrapes and scratches but, that just means you are riding the rough stuff and going where the going gets rough and that's what real mountain biking is really all about anyway.
They look great especially if you have the rest of the high-end goodies and especially the FSA bar and seatpost that just are leagues ahead of everything else out there in strength, weight, and performance, and those flat out killer, "I'm too sexy for my clothes" looks.
Everytime I pull up on the "bad-bike" everyone either fesses up or gets really quiet because the ride is way bad and is so good lookin' it just PHUAQS THEM UP really bad (I can't tell you how much I love pullin' up on this machine and watching the expression of emotions that arrise from it ... sweeeet it is!)
Bottom line ... I'd give a acre of Flamin' Sensi Buds to rate this crankset but since it has to be rated in terms of the good ole' US Standards (doh!), I'll have to settle for a mere FIVE Flamin' Chili Peppers.
Now, time to go to Johnny's Garden and kick back a bit before I break out the bad ride and drop the bomb on some un-suspecting wannabes.
Got Bud ... We do!

Purchased At:Taiwan LBS
Strengths:Looks cool! Cheap! Light! Smooth Shift!
Weaknesses:None at this time
Similar Products Used:FSA Team carbon issue (road), Dura Ace, XTR, Doera, XT, Ultegra
Bike Setup:Cannondale 03 F1000SL, 03'XTR FD, SRAM XO shifters and rear D, FSA Carbon team issue crankset, USE Alien seatpost, Magura Marta brakes, China no brand Ti handlebars, Nokon cables, etc etc etc
Bottom Line:Best value cranks. I am not strong enought to know if there is any flex or anything like that. So far, they have not given me any problem. I am using the Octalink version and am using it with a XT BB with no problems. Not sure about the ISIS version. But My road FSA carbon team issue is ISSIS and never had any problem with the FSA Ti BB.
Also this cranks are lite and have cool looks the draw ooohhhsss and ahhhhhssss....and a even louder AH?! when they find out how cheap these are!

Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $325.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Light! Like the feel of the carbon fiber.
Weaknesses:Not compatible with its own Isis BB. FSA Customer service. Real bad attitudes.
Similar Products Used:Race Face, Shimano.
Bottom Line:The FSA Carbon Pro Crankset and FSA Ulitmax TI bottom bracket ISIS did not fit. Quality control issue. Warranty covered the issue, however dealing with 2 different people "Tom" and "Mike" over the last year was enough for me not to ever buy a FSA product again. They were unprofessional, rude, just real jerks about the problem. They played dumb to the whole issue, which several bike shops were well aware this issue and the quality control problem.

Like the product once I got it working, would never give business to FSA again based on the attitude received from 2 different people.

Bottom Line:I got the 28/38/48 tooth model and man does it ever fly. I have only ridden 2 other bikes, but there is practically no comparison. All my power seems to get down to the ground with no wasted energy. I LOVE IT!!! and u cant beat ebay for some good deals

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. LIGHTER THAN WHAT I HAD. STIFF.
Weaknesses:THEY COST HOW MUCH?
Similar Products Used:NOTHING CARBON. NEW XTR ON MY 2003 NRS AIR. PREVIOUSLY USED TRUVATIV STYLO TEAM SL.
Bike Setup:2002 S-WORKS HARDTAIL. SID CARBON, SRAM X0.
Bottom Line:THANK GOD I WORK IN A SHOP. AESTHETICALLY PLEASING, AND AWESOME PERFORMANCE. FOR THE DOLLAR, THE TRUVATIV IS THE WAY TO GO. FOR THOSE WHO HAVE MONEY TO BURN AND WANT HIGH PERFORMANCE, THEN THIS IS IT. FOR ALL THOSE SHIMANO LOVERS OUT THERE, STICK WITH THE XT OR XTR. THESE OTHER TWO OPTIONS WORK TOO WELL.
