Very weak construction.
They bend.
Teeth break and bend too easy.

Specialized Stumpjumer Comp 99 | | Bottom Line: | In one week I had bent to big ring and knocked 2 teeth off. The middle ring caused chain suck from day one and I just kept bending the teeth on these rings. Caused a broken chain in 2 races. Crap Crap Crap | | Overall Rating: |

FSR Comp | | Bottom Line: | The outer Sugino CXP ring bent after 2-weeks of normal riding and occasional contact with objects ( ie rocks). The alloy is way to soft in my opinion. It just doesn't hold up. The middle ring, on the other hand, is heavy steel, and doesn't need to be as strong as the outer ring anyway, since it will never kiss a rock. Replace them when you can, except the inner ring, that one's OK. | Overall Rating: |
