      Date Reviewed: 1/20/2008 7:21:51 PM
Duration Product Used: More than 3 years
      Strengths: strong and durabel
      Weaknesses: are you kidding none
      Similar Products Tried: shimano rings
Bike Setup: Kona Hei-Hei Ti HT White Brothers fork Grafton Joystick Cranks, XTR v-brakes, Chris King Hubs
Bottom Line: These thing are awsome have ridden them over 14 years and to many mile to think about still not worn out I wish I could say that about the chains. If you can ever find a set grab them well worth the money

Submitted by Nick a Cross Country Rider from Oop North, England
      Date Reviewed: 9/21/2000 1:55:55 PM
Duration Product Used: More than 3 years
      Price Paid: $32
      Purchased At: Ribble Cycles
Strengths: Longest lasting middle ring I've ever run.
Weaknesses: Steel is untrendy. No shifting ramps, but then who cares when you're running proper shifters (XT thumbies) not some lightweight fairy Rapidfire+ or Gripshi*t system.
Similar Products Tried: Pace, Cook Bros, Mavic, Shimano, Stronglight, Real, Middleburn
Bike Setup: What's relevant - XT 8 speed rear sprocket, Deore XT cranks circa 1994, Mavic granny ring, Middleburn big ring. Onza buzzsaw middle ring. Sachs chain turns them together. XT thumbies run cack-handed and under the bars move a 1994 XT front shifter & an Ultegra rear mech. Shifting is sweet.
Bottom Line: The Buzzsaw in the longest lasting middle ring I've ever used & I've had no chainsuck ever. So it might not have shifting pins ramps and half it's teeth missing before you even start but so what? Weights a bit more than alloy but what do I care. Steel is still real, especially on a middle ring.

FavoriteTrail: Waterfall Trail, Liberty Lake WA
Duration Product Used: more than 3 years
      Strengths: Sronger than Alloy.
      Shifts SO SMOOTH!
      No more chainsuck!
      Super practicle product!
      Weaknesses: Heavier than Alloy.
(But the middle ring is a BAD place to use alloy)
Similar Products Tried: Shimano Alloy 36t, Specialized Alloy 36t,
      Suntour Alloy 36t.
Bike Setup: Had this on my '93 D.B. Apex, all Deore DX components.
Bottom Line: The alloy middle rings get worn, then shifting suffers and chainsuck sets in. I need S.S. on the small AND middle rings. This S.S. middle ring solves the problem! I want another one for my new bike (34t 110mm middle). Anyone know where I can find one?
