      FavoriteTrail: Arcadia- Mt Tom
      Duration Product Used: 3 months
      Strengths: Strong
      Light
      Smooth shifting
      What else is there???
Weaknesses: None so far- will update if one is found...
      Similar Products Tried: Shimano, Suguino
Bike Setup: GT Xizang, Marzocchi 3.5, Magura Hydraulic brakes, Thompson, Bontrager, WI cranks
Bottom Line: The Suguino rings that came with my White Industries crankset were HORRIBLE. I pretty much only use the middle ring, but found a great deal on a whole set for basically the price of the large ring. Could not pass it up.
The difference was immediately noticed, and fantastic. I have not had the amount of time to give these a thorough beating to see how they hold up in the long run, so if there are problems with them I will let you know. Right now, however, there is nothing that I would rather have- and one of my favorite upgrades.
If your rings do not work well, you will not be going anywhere.....

      Date Reviewed: 7/23/2000 9:18:28 AM
FavoriteTrail: sunny, narrow, empty, slightly moist.
Duration Product Used: More than 3 years
Strengths: quality machining, hard as nails
Weaknesses: not as smooth shifting as the shimanoised rings
Similar Products Tried: pace (also great), shimano, sugino, suntour
Bike Setup: Orange Evo O2, LX,XT Manitou SXLT, hope hubs
Bottom Line: Had these on my last two bikes (one ring has lived on 3 frames!) and they just last and last, even the alloy granny ring never developed chainsuck. Worth spending the cash on for the longevity; they last longer, your chains last longer and so does the cassette.

Submitted by Kelvin a Cross Country Rider from England
      Date Reviewed: 2/29/2000 3:27:56 AM
      FavoriteTrail: Leith Hill
      Duration Product Used: 6 months
Strengths: Good quality machining, strong in log attacks
Weaknesses: prone to chainsuck from middle to granny
Similar Products Tried: Shimano LX crank rings
Bike Setup: DNA ti, Pace, x-lite, goldtec, middleburn
Bottom Line: I like the rings, they are strong and last real well. I had a full set of CD rings with my RS7's and from the start under power changes from the middle to the granny caused annoying chainsuck. Only way to stop was to take off all power - not very well suited to my style of attacking the steeps in the middle ring.
I changed the granny to a steel thing but it still happened. Checked the rings and found that the middle was the cause - chips in the ring were grabbing the ring. Taking a file to it would cure it for a while but it still returned.
Rang middleburn - asked me what frame I was using - I said DNA and straight away they confirmed that other DNA owners had suffered the same problems. The chainstay joins the BB low and this seems to produce chainsuck.
Upgraded for a smaller amount to the DUO upgrade of 29/42 tooth rings and haven't had a problem since.
Giant ATX990 owners had the same problems.
I'll review the DUO upgrade later but - an average three for overall, four for value cos there is still loads of life left in the other rings.

Submitted by Mr. Fabulous a Downhiller from Troy, NY
      Date Reviewed: 5/4/1999
      FavoriteTrail: Platekill
      Duration Product Used: 1 Year
Strengths: Thickness, the DH version is 10mm wide.
Weaknesses: Weight, at 10mm wide it gets heavy.
Similar Products Tried: Didn't have to try anything else.
Bike Setup: Gary Fisher Level Betty FH0
Bottom Line: I had broken the spider on my Race Face Turbine LP before a race, (the ring wasn't on there at the time). I decided to switch to the Middleburn ring, and not only did I win, but neither the crank, nor the ring suffered any more damage.
