    Date Reviewed: November 1, 2007
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $10.00
    Purchased At:don't remember
Strengths:Quiet, comes in colors that look sweet, dirt cheap, doesn't break (yet?). Seems downright frictionless on my SS when its newly lubed. Uses a SRAM-style Master link.
Weaknesses:Seems to take white lightning well but it also seems to lose it faster than other chains.
Similar Products Used:Replaced a stretched-out SRAM on this bike. Have had good luck with SRAM chains, but the new shimano's suck in my experience with the '07 xtr that I threw away, it kept breaking but if I had used a powerlink instead of the connector pin it might be been good.
Bike Setup:32:16 singlespeed gearing on an ENO hub. Mythos XC slick tires with Stan's-filled tubes. The bike has red sidewalls, decals, grips, stickers and chain. Its fossil-old but looks kickass, woot
Bottom Line:I actually have a Z410. This is one of those things MTBR does that I don't understand--the z410 has to be the KMC chain I see most often yet they have all the other models listed and not this one. On to the review...

I've used this on my singlespeed. I know singlespeeds aren't super demanding as far as chain performance, and can use almost anything. So, why spring for an expensive and most likely weaker chain? That said I got this one because it came in RED, which is pretty unique having a colored chain. The paint is actually nice, very metallic when you look closely. It does actually stay on well. As far as performance, well the chain hasn't broken. It started to squeak once because I hadn't lubed it for a long time, that went away instantly with some white lightning. What else can I say, I ride my SS to work and back almost every day. I trust this chain much more than that xtr POS that kept breaking on my geared.
