I am a Clydesdale rider (a huge clydesdale rider at 270#) who races which means I ride the crap out of my gear. I was tired of dropping $220.00 every 3 to four weeks to keep riding. I made a few calls to SunRace about their products and bigger fellas. They sent me two different cassettes. I put one on each of my bikes back in March and they are still on there. Running, Shifting, and racing just fine. I have well over 500 miles on each. We're talking racing, road trips, and training. I have replaced my chainrings and chain at least twice and still haven't had to replace the cassette. BOTTOM LINE....THESE THINGS ROCK. I was supposed to gie SunRace a write up and send the cassettes back to them when they wore out but they are still kicking. The bike shop replaced it with a shimano hg cluster on so will see how that goes.

Im a heavy rider with a decent amount of leg strength and once I got a better cassette I realized this one doesnt like to shift under a load. Its intended purpose it not for even mild trail riding, but I think it would work well for most people who stick to the street or the bike path. For that reason I will give it a value of 3 chilis because its not an expensive part. I weigh 128 lbs so i am not a big guy and the chain breaks on me. never ever had a chain break on me before this one.
Got the cassette again for free at another race. they gave out like a dozen of those pieces of shiittt. Mine is in the box sitting in the garage. thought it might make a good paper weight or something or i would have just thrown it away.

Cassette is very light and worked great when new but it's just not durable enough. SunRace DOES say it's "for racing only", but who wants to race not knowing when a cog will break? - and it probably will. I've gotten thousands of miles of hassle free, low maintenance riding out of XT cassettes & though I try to just say no to Shimano, looks like I'll be going back.

For the price and weight you cannot find any better solution but durabilty suffers a lot form it. I broke several teeth on this cassette (never happened before) and some of them are so worn out that new chain is not working properly (skipping thing most of the times I step harder on the cranks), thus making ride impossible. The thing is longer then a normal cassette... it is a about 1/2 longer then my LX cassette, it rubs on my derailuer hanger. Since it's longer, it screwed up shifting too, even though it has the same ratio. | | Similar Products Used: |
