    Strengths:Shifts well, durable, inexpensive
    Weaknesses:none so far
    Similar Products Used:suntour
Bike Setup:Racer X100, SRAM 9.0 RD, grip-shfters and chain, XT FD, Race Face Dues crankset
Bottom Line:This cassette came stock on an old bike and I decided to keep using it since it was in like-new condition even though the chain was worn and needed replacing. I also wanted to stay with 8 speed option which is more reliable and durable than 9 speed. The bottom line is this cassette works well, is durable and is inexpensive (less than half the price of new XTs).

Bottom Line:Can't complain. Never had a problem with this cassette, except after 2 years it's worn out. I'll probably get another to replace it. Didn't notice any flexing issues, but at 160 pounds I'm not a pedal masher. I only use the 32-tooth ring for spinning, if I'm cranking on the pedals I'm in the 24 or 26. Have I hit 50 words yet?

Bottom Line:Exelent value.I ride my bike with no mersy, and some times it is weeks between maintenances, so I'm satisfied. There is one thing you should check before installing it or if you have it as OE you should defeneately take it off and check and that is the little pin that holds the lagest /1-6/ rings. it should be tigthetened so it goes all the way trought the 6th gear.this will help you achieve more stiffnes and no movement on the casset against the hub which usually damages the chain or sometimes chips teeth. and you're all good to go...

Similar Products Used:old stuff of which I dont know the brand and sunrace crap
Bike Setup:SRAM 5.0 cassette, that much you know, the rest you dont
Bottom Line:I had absolutely no reason to upgrade my cassette because the other one really worked just fine, but I did and Im glad because now the old one is a piece of crap compared to this one. This one is the 11-28 tooth model which was what I had so I didnt feel any need to lower my gearing. Those who say this flexes are indeed smoking the whacky weed because mine is stiff as hell. I can see maybe that the top cog on the 11-32 model my deflect a bit, but lets get real people. The chain pulls the top of the cassette from the front, not side to side. I just recently upgraded to Shimano alivio shifters and a deore rear derailleur and experienced much improved shifting. I never realized how much better it would get from replacing my cassette. These are dirt cheap too, compared to shimano, they smoke them out of the water.

Strengths:Looks good, strong, shifts very well, 11-32T 8-speed.
Weaknesses:None encountered so far. Love the 11-32T setup and would rather have 11-32T 8-speed than 11-32T (or 11-34T) 9-speed, so this cassette is perfect.
Bike Setup:Haro Escape 8.2 (Red/Black 19.5”): Manitou SIX Comp (100mm); Avid disc brakes (f&r); Shimano LX rear derailleur; Shimano Alivio shifters and front derailleur (8-speed); ProMax brake levers; TruVativ 5D Cranks; SRAM 5.0 cassette (8-speed 11-32T); Shimano IG51 Chain (8-speed); Alex DM18 Doublewall rims (32H); Intense 2.25" CC tires; Haro disc hubs, handlebar, stem, and seatpost; WTB Inner Peace ST headset, and Speed V Comp saddle.
Bottom Line:I love this cassette because I am a fan of 11-32T 8-speed drivetrain. This thing shifts well, looks good, is light, and I have no complaints.

Bike Setup:Gary Fisher X-Cal with excellent components bought on sale or salvaged from junkyards
Bottom Line:This is a sweet cassette. If you say this flexes, youre on crack. Its made of STEEL. Not hollow flexy Reynolds 593 tubes like a Cromally bike, but solid steel plates. This thing is dirt cheap, out performs shimano and allows all the people who got XT 8 speed deraillers of old Cannondales in junk yards and LX 8 speed shifters off ebay for mad cheap to ride on a shiny, new, and most of all cheap cassette that shifts smoother than Don Juan at a nyphomaniac convention. Sram put shimano to shame with this thing. Its lighter than everythign except a $150+ XTR. Too bad I can only give 5 chillis

Strengths:8 Speed (8 Speed rules my world)
11-32 tooth gear range - wide range for a versitile ride
    Inexpensive
Light weight - For you weight weenies - Mine weighed about 285 grams.
Durable - It has lasted one season with only a little wear to the chrome finish.
Shifts better than a 9 speed XTR/Rapidrise setup that I had the opportunity to adjust and test for a friend this summer.
Weaknesses:Maybe the jump from the 26t to 32t is a bit wide, causing slightly slower shifting (a few fractions of a second?), but it shifts up every time, even under heavy pedaling pressure.
Somewhat flexy. Don't worry, it won't flex into your spokes... Flexyness to the fingers doesn't seem to translate under chain pressure. I have had no problems with shifting performance, so I am absolutely unconcerned.
Similar Products Used:Shimano 7 speed (IG) Cassettes
    Shimano 8 Speed (HG) Cassettes
Bike Setup:I have several bikes using them.
    Jamis Dakar Expert (FS)
Xero Flux Hardtail (STEEL IS REAL!)
Bottom Line:Considering the price to weight and performance ratio, I say it's one heck of a deal! I bashed mine all summer, climbing alot of long hills, and then decending fast. The 5.0 works great for the "chutes and ladders" I like to ride. I also started taking more drops, and scrambling over more rocks and the like (putting gouges in my cranks and chiping a front sprocket tooth) and I don't remember ever having any shifting problems during these more aggressive situations. The only shifting problems I did have were related to my shifters and front deraileur, not my cassette. Basically the cassette was transparent, to wit, I never noticed it because it was not a problem.
I liked it and give it a 5 star rating for value and performance.

No spider so gears flex like crazy under hi torque--can flex the large cog into the spokes by hand!
    Similar Products Used:Shimano XT 11-30
    Bike Setup:Rocky Mtn Blizzard/XT/RaceFace/Bomber
Bottom Line:This cassette is fine if you aren't doing technical riding. You can get 2 of these for the price of a Shimano. But you get what you pay for and I won't be buying this ever again. The Shimanos have a spider which all the larger cogs mount to. This greatly improves the strength of the cassette. This thing has all the cogs going the distance to the hub. So the larger ones flex noticably under torque and seem to be causing me all kinds of drivetrain problems. Gotta be the cassette because everything else is new (including the cassette) and derailleur and hanger are both dead on. I bought an XTR cassette and am preparing to test it out ASAP. This problem never happened with the Shimano cassettes.

Bottom Line:Great 8sp cassette. I will not change to anything else, from now on. the ease of cleaning is something that gives my drivetrain extra long lifetime. I ride in a muddy terraine, and being able to take the cassette apart for cleaning is a great advantage. been trough one drivetrain this year, and halfways through the next which is relatevly good for over 2000km of riding, mostly offroad. Have allready ordered two more of this product, to use next year. I have probably been using 5.0 I, but if 5.0 II is better I will be more than happy
