    Date Reviewed: February 21, 2008
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $30.00
    Purchased At:Performance Bike
    Strengths:Low price. Light weight.
    Weaknesses:WEAK!
Similar Products Used:SRAM 9-speed cassette. Shimano 9-speed cassette.
Bike Setup:1990 Cannondale SM 2000 set up for commuting.
Bottom Line:The second to smallest cog broke in half at less than 12 miles of regular commuting use. No reason to have broke. All I was doing was pedaling through traffic. Was not standing or pedaling very hard at all. Sent it back and got an SRAM.

Buy it if you want to walk your bike.

Don't buy it if you depend on your bike to get to point B.

    Favorite Trail:marion bear
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
    Price Paid: $15.00
    Purchased At:performance
    Strengths:function per price
    Weaknesses:iffy when wet
    Similar Products Used:all of them
Bike Setup:bits n pieces, from xtr to generic
Bottom Line:Well, well, well. This is the Sram 950 in disguise. Lighter than last year's Shimmy LX. Beat up with the Sram 951 chain, and save your higher ends for racing and epics. Just a microsecond slow shifting after a creek crossing. When you learn to curse and adjust, the higher end stuff on race day is sublime!

Best for blue collar guys like meself, stuck with a mortgage in San Diego, trying to compete with the endless income white collars, and trust fund college kiddies.

    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $25.00
    Purchased At:Performance
    Strengths:Price
    Weaknesses:Weight, Shifting performance
    Similar Products Used:Shimano 105
    Bike Setup:2001 C'dale xr800
Bottom Line:Wanted to get greater low range on my , cross bike that I use for all around riding. Shifting hesitates and is slow. Last night I put the old 105 cluster back on and ith shifts silently and crisply. Spend more and get Shimano or SRAM

    Date Reviewed: July 5, 2004
    Favorite Trail:Paint Branch Trail (Maryland/DC)
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $25.00
    Purchased At:PerformanceBike.com
Strengths:$15 cheaper than a Deore LX cassette, virtually identical
    Weaknesses:None so far
Bike Setup:Mongoose Pro Rockadile AL / LX hubs / Mavic X618 rims
Bottom Line:I wanted to upgrade my bike to 9 speed and am a poor grad student. I got this cassette + SRAM chain for $35 from Performance, and I am very happy with them. Shifting is smooth and everything just works fine.

If you want to save money, get this instead of a Deore LX cassette, as they are similar in weight and have the same gearing.
