| Bottom Line: | I spent a couple hours trying to set-up these pads. Initially set-up with no toe, then with toe, squeeled like crazy regardless. I don't understand why avid would ship these pads with the avid black-ops ultimates. IMO these pads are crap. Replaced the pads with some kool-stops inserts and the squeal disappeared! |

| Bottom Line: | These things SUCK. They didnt work any better then the aztec pads i had on my old bike, even though they were on my SD SL's. They felt no better then the old bike(which should not be the case, as the old bike as a middle of the road schwinn that i bought like 5 years ago). I took the off after 2 rides, and one ride was a flat rails to trails trail with almost no braking. But they still managed to mess up my rim a bit DUE TO THE PEICE OF STINKING METAL IN THE PAD!!!!!! If you get avid SD's change the pad before you ride. The braking preformance of you brakes will suffer(your brakes are only as good as your pad, and these pads just dont hack it), and possibly your rim too. I actually just put some schimano pads in, and in the little(like a trip across my basment) they felt better and no horible noise. If i could give these no chilis or less i would. |

| Bottom Line: | the pads are easy to replace -cartridges make a world of difference ;-) i probably put close to 2000 miles on one set of pads before i had to replace em. it's easy to tell when to replace though- you have jack for brake modulation.. it's either locked or not helping much at all when they are worn out. untill they wear out they are awesome. pads are cheap anyways so who cares if they wear fast |

| Bottom Line: | I've been using these on the rear for a long time, and they stopped just fine. But recently I discovered that my WTB Dual Compound (you know, with the "cleaning" orange edge) were scraping away my rim sidewalls like sandpaper, so I put these on. Not a good switch. I'll bet my stopping distance increased by a third. I just bought two pair of WTB Razor Blade standard pads. Based on past experience, I'll bet they work a lot better. If you buy a pair of Avid brakes, immediately switch out the pads. |

| Bottom Line: | These pads heat very quickly and then become overly sticky and unpredictable. On the front this means extremely poor modulation. On the back, the wheel locks unpredictably on hard or high speed braking. The pads were about 3/4 gone after one ride. The brake locking along with just a little bad luck with a car coming the other way could have killed us. These pads are history!! |

| Bottom Line: | this tripe came with my avid 7s when i upgraded.i asked the wrench to put my koolstops back on but the buzzard said he couldnt force himself since the wranglers were supposed to be plush high end stuff.they desinigrated (sp?) in less than one hour in mud and snow.if you look up the term "mountain bike" in the dictionary it says something to the effect of bicycle designed for all terrain all WEATHER use.somebody didnt get the word.lets review :no stopping power,sandblasts rims,disolves in water. totally unsat.dont deserve even 1 inflamed bung hole. |
