    Favorite Trail:York River State Park
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $28.00
    Purchased At:pricepoint
Strengths:These things can stop you on a dime and still allow for perfect modulation when braking. I replaced these with an older pair of pads and the difference is amazing.
Weaknesses:The price is a little high, but if they hold out for an extended period of time, no big deal.
    Similar Products Used:Jagwire
Bottom Line:Great set of pads. If you are needing to upgrade, I would spend the extra money!

    Date Reviewed: September 15, 2007
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $30.00
    Purchased At:ebay
    Strengths:work as advertised
Weaknesses:more expensive than your typical pad - but you have to pay for quality
Similar Products Used:avid (rim wrangler), shimano
    Bike Setup:v-brakes; what else matters?
Bottom Line:These pads are great and work as they are advertised. The exceptional stopping power & modulation is noticeable in all environments. I have used these for many races, wet and dry and they are flaweless through both. KoolStop came out ahead again with a great product!

    Date Reviewed: June 24, 2007
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $15.00
Strengths:braking power, control, performance in wet or mud, no squeeling.
    Weaknesses:threading is sensitive to rust.
Similar Products Used:BBB, XT and other shimano stuff
Bottom Line:These are good pads. They provide good and controlled braking power while still being able to block the wheel. As for v-brakes, only a ceramic setup works better. Also, these pads work silently, no squeeling, even when wet. In three months, i haven't heard them once. Downside is that i have noticed that the threads develop a slight rust after riding in rain. The good news is that this can easily be solved by applying some oil or grease on the threads before installing. Besides that, these are the best pads i've used so far. However, the rusting threads will cost them one flamin' chili.

    Date Reviewed: April 7, 2007
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $15.00
    Purchased At:E-Bay
Strengths:The greatest brake pad ever! Better then damn near any disc brake on the market and a hell of a lot cheaper!
Weaknesses:As before thick pads make for added trouble removing tire.
Similar Products Used:Many stock and after market pads by Shimano, Avid, Tecktro, Tioga, Aztek etc...
Bike Setup:Giant Rock 4500 (Japan only model) with Marzocchi Bomber 03 Freeride fork, Shimano XT R Deraiuer and Deore Front, Deore shifter/brake combo, truvativ Hussefelt crank 42 32 22 Panaracer Fire XC tires.
Bottom Line:If these had come out years ago disc brakes might have never caught on. I've talked several friend out of buying disc equipted bikes in favor of V brakes that can be upgrated to these brake pads. Even when paired with cheap brakes these babies can sure stop a bike! The tripple compound is also great for Japan as gets pretty wet and humid around here. This product is just about the cheapest and most effective upgrade I've ever seen.

    Favorite Trail:All
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Purchased At:20.00
Strengths:Works well in wet or dry. Great braking power.
Weaknesses:Pad compound almost too fat. Effects tire removal.
Similar Products Used:Most other brake pads.
    Bike Setup:1998 FSR with a BETD link and a PUSHED 6.75 x 1.75 Fox Vanilla R shock.
Bottom Line:Works really well. This pads really do work well and will dramatically improve your braking in both dry and wet conditions. For those of us still using V-brakes, these pads are a must.
