      FavoriteTrail: they're all good
Duration Product Used: Less than 1 month
Strengths: Excellent construction and finish, very stiff, cheap, look great
Weaknesses: I have the freeride brace and it isn't wide enough for anything over a 2.4 tire (and I think you might have to remove a brake pad when installing any wheel over a 2.25). I would like to see it wide enough for at least a 2.6 if not a 3.0
Similar Products Tried: Standard Magura Steel braces
      Bike Setup: Custom hardtail, z1 x-fly, HS-33's
Bottom Line: The freeride brace is way stiffer than the standard Magura brace. It is also thicker and it won't bend as easily as the steel magura brace (something that I've had a problem with under heavy clay buildup). If it accepted a 2.6 tire, it would be perfect in my book (hint hint). Dave was great to deal with as we traded emails back and forth, and he was willing to create a custom brace for me to run a 3.0 tire (I'm going to use disks so this isn't an issue anymore though). If ever you need to replace a Magura brace, or if you want just a little more chi chi on your bike, this is the ultimate way to do it!

Duration Product Used: Less than 1 month
Strengths: Stiff, pretty light, reasonably priced, great service
      Weaknesses: None so far
Similar Products Tried: First brake boosters I've owned
Bike Setup: Fisher Mt. Tam, Magura, Judy, Spox, XT/LX
Bottom Line: These things are worth every penney! I was pretty skeptical about brake boosters in general, but now the mushy feel of the Maguras is gone and I have tons of stopping power. The Moonlighters look cool, are light enough, cheap enough, and Dave gave me great service.

      Duration Product Used: 6 months
Strengths: Strong, stiff...does it's job to a tee. Quality workmanship.
Weaknesses: Hard to find when lost...but that's not his fault
Similar Products Tried: Magura, Al something
Bike Setup: 92 Klein Adroit, XT shifters, 98Judy fork, Louise up front, HS22's in back,
Bottom Line: These were given to me by a good friend. The worked great till I lost them in the garage. I'm afraid one of my children is doing some deep sand research with them now. I installed them and noticed a huge diffrence. These are quality made and cheap too boot. There so good I'm gonna put money on the line to get another set.

FavoriteTrail: Birth Control, Hartland (The Dump)
Duration Product Used: Less than 1 month
Strengths: Light, Cheap for titanium, Reallly work well, takes that mushy fell out of my maggies.
Weaknesses: If you notice any, You got problems.
Similar Products Tried: Magura boosters. A Marzocchi brake arch, belive it or not.
Bike Setup: A Kona U'Hu with sun rims, Magiie, HS-22, T.H.E fender, Radical Ingot stem, VP clipless pedals, Fox vanilla r-5 shock
Bottom Line: These boosters are cheap, work VERY well, and take that mushy feeling out of your brakes. Dave is also a very nice person. I suggest these boosters for anyone who has Maguras. Or if you have V's, get the v- brake style ones!

      Duration Product Used: 3 months
Similar Products Tried: ionic, stock steel
Bike Setup: dekerf w/ frogs; 1x1 with tomac up front; nytex w/ quicksilvers
Bottom Line: just to eleborate on my previous review, i've got 2 sets of these guys, and they truly are the stiffest boosters for maguras i've tried, the feel at the lever is far firmer then the other 2 styles i've tried. these are the boosters i recommend to others that are in the market for maggie units. i still have to get a set of the "freeride" style for my 1x1 (it now uses ionics). not only are the boosters great, Dave is a cool guy (working on a Ti chainsuck plate for my dekerf). there is one small instalation trick though (the top bolts on my EVO's were about 1mm too close for it to mount perfectly, so i pulled on the lever a bit to spread the stays until the bolt was tighted.

      cheers

      FavoriteTrail: Slick Rock
      Duration Product Used: 3 months
Weaknesses: They are like nothing is there, didn't help at all. Moots makes a Ti bike that has no shock but still gives you plenty of flex so does the booster, I should have been smarter than buy Ti for stiff
      Similar Products Tried: Magura
      Bike Setup: Magura Jonny T's
Bottom Line: Don't buy Ti if you want stiff I have now bought a booster that is 1/4 thick AL and it weighs 40 grams just 4 grams more than this one, it is stiff and does the job, plus they turn me on to some Kevlar hydro hose very sweet and durable and not very expensive. Strengths: Stiff as hell, looks incredibly sweet, dave rocks, only 25 dollars- better than 50+ dollar big name shit.
      Weaknesses: hmmmmmmmmmm....none?
Similar Products Tried: shimano booster, salsa arc de tri-ooomph (nothing magura tho)
Bike Setup: monty x-hyrda 2000. hs33s, its a trials bike.
Bottom Line: Dave is great. First of all he engraved PORNSTAR on the booster in big letters for free. The product is incredible, beautiful titanium, flawless. Check his web page out at moonlighter.hypermart.net . Do yourself a favor and get one of these

      Strengths: good unit
as i usaully say it does what it was designed to do
      Weaknesses: uh?
Similar Products Tried: the ionic aluminum units
Bike Setup: dekerf, the brakes are hs-33 frogs
Bottom Line: ok....as gwat said stiff, i borrowed 1 to try beacuase with the aluminum boosters i had at least 1/8 of flex in my dekerf's stays, i put this little guy on and it does what it was meant to do. it offers greater clearence then the aluminum units and is like 4 grams heavier ( but hey if you use maggies already, you prefer performance over weight anyways) bottom line i'm buying a pair and giving this one back.

      Duration Product Used: 3 months
      Strengths: Stiff, light, good looks
      Weaknesses: Weakness? Huh?
Similar Products Tried: Magura Steel, Magura/Ionic Alloy, Magura Carbon
Bike Setup: Atom Bomb fork, Oryx Team True Temper OXGold frame, HS-33 Quicksilver brakes.
Bottom Line: What an improvment!! Seriously. Dave's boosters are great. I've tried both of his Magura boosters - the 'XC race' model and the 'freeride' model. The freeride is a bit bigger and provides a bit more clearence then a standard Magura steel booster. Stiffness is comperable to a Magura steel booster.
The XC race booster is the best booster I have ever tried. The only downside is that you can only fit a 2.2 tire into it (but the biggest XC race tire is 2.1 so that's not a problem). The XC booster is really small, so it is SUPER stiff and amazingly light. With the Magura steel booster installed I can see a bit of flex in my brakes, but with Dave's XC booster installed I can not see my brakes flex AT ALL (seriously). Bottom line - stiffest booster you will ever find. The mounting holes in Dave's boosters are the PERFECT size for the Magura bolts. The booster is easy to install and take off, but the fit is tight enough so there is no play.GO CHECK OUT THE WEBSITE (http://moonlighter.hypermart.net) AND ORDER A SET OF THESE NOW!!! THESE ARE THE BEST MAGURA BOOSTERS MONEY CAN BUY.
