      FavoriteTrail: Seymour
      Duration Product Used: 1 Year
      Price Paid: $10
      Purchased At: NS Sports Swap
Strengths: Light, good clearance, look great
Weaknesses: not as stiff as others, stock mounting bolts will bend over time
Similar Products Tried: Curve brake booster
Bike Setup: Kona Lava Dome built up for everything from commuting to trials
Bottom Line: I had a Curve on my Z4 and the braking and increased fork stiffness was amazing. I put the Brodie up front and it was not so good. I run it on the rear and it works well. I put on XT brakes and noticed the bolts on the rear were totally bent, maybe because of more flex on the steel frame vs aluminum fork on front. They're good but not the best.

      Date Reviewed: 6/23/2000 1:28:41 PM
      Duration Product Used: 6 months
Strengths: Stiff, light, it's a Brodie, good clearance, mud doesn't get stuck in it.
Weaknesses: Haaaaaaa, heeeeeee. You're kidding right?
      Similar Products Tried: none
Bike Setup: Brodie Gatorblade, tange cromo frame with diacompe brakes
Bottom Line: Excellent booster. I got it for about twenty bucks without bolts or anything but it was soooo worth it. They are hard to find unless you live in BC but if you can find one, BUY IT. The clearance is great for anybody, especially if you're a freerider from Vancouver who rips through the sticky mud all the time. If you have anything else, replace it with one of these

      Date Reviewed: 3/21/2000 3:20:58 PM
      FavoriteTrail: rattelsnake/innsbruck
Duration Product Used: More than 3 years
Strengths: low weight, suprior stiffness, lots of mud clearenc
      Weaknesses: only black available
Similar Products Tried: adp engeniering, shimano booster, aluminium boosters
Bike Setup: brodie sovereigen with manitou sx carbon forks and xtr v-brakes
Bottom Line: thanks to this booster i have no squeling and noisy brakes on the front and better one`s on the rear
i like the the optics also, because if you own a steel frame the beefy aluminium boosters are not the real deal.
their design let mud flow trough them and keep your tiers free.
the only problem by fitting them on shimano v-brakes is that the original spacer is to big, so you have to cut or mill away the edge of the spacer

Submitted by Cheng Lee a Weekend Warrior from Brussels

      FavoriteTrail: muddy, slopy
Duration Product Used: Less than 1 month
Strengths: At 46 grams, this is probably the lightest you can get for a booster. Strong, definitely brakes better on my Cro-moly frame
Weaknesses: A little too expensive but still worths the value. Great clearance on a Zafal fender
Similar Products Tried: Tektro, heavy + flexible
Bike Setup: My bike is a mongrel of shimano (LX and XT) and Sach (Quarz)
Bottom Line: Nothing. Well, you can see the flex still on a cro-moly frame but you cam live with that.

Submitted by Don S a Weekend Warrior from Jamul, Ca, USA
      Date Reviewed: 2/5/2000 1:33:18 PM
      FavoriteTrail: Cuyamaca
Duration Product Used: More than 3 years
      Strengths: Very lightweight,and very stiff
Weaknesses: None but if I remember, it was more expensive than other
      products.
Similar Products Tried: None, but checked out a few aluminum ones(too heavy)over
      the years.
Bike Setup: Have used it on 3 bikes. Latest is Access Ti HT.
XT drivetrain, Avid AR 50 brakes,XTR hubs on 517
      wheels,USE seatpost
Bottom Line: Controls flex on rear stays very well.Beautiful CNC
large cutouts makes it lighter. It is made of magnesium
which is lighter and stiffer than aluminum. Anyone
who has Vs or other direct pull brakes where the stays
flex should try it,to get the mush out of the rear brake.
