Submitted by Chris a Weekend Warrior from Yokosuka
      Date Reviewed: 11/30/2004 5:08:35 AM
      Duration Product Used: 6 months
      Price Paid: $30
      Purchased At: Cycle Cave (LBS)
      Strengths: Smooth and Strong.
Weaknesses: Short life and Durability of bearings.
Similar Products Tried: Shimano Deore w/ square taper BB.
Bike Setup: Weyless XP, Manitou Swinger 3-way Coil, Rock Shocks Psylo, Race Face Prodigy, Mavic XM321, Shimano XTR (M952) Front and Rear Derailleurs, Shimano Deore LX Shifters, Hayes HFX Comp Disc.
Bottom Line: Good for a temporary BB, but nothing really to great about it, didn't even last all that long. The only good ISIS BB in theory is the one FSA is putting out, the Platinum MegaExo ISIS BB that has external bearings. But in my opinion you might as well skip ISIS and go with the Outboard Bearing style, like the Shimano Saints.

      FavoriteTrail: Bar end
Duration Product Used: Less than 1 month
      Price Paid: $35
      Purchased At: melchsham cycles
      Strengths: Axle hasnt bent yet!
Weaknesses: Heavy considering its strength. Creeking and slow bearings
      Similar Products Tried: none
Bike Setup: planet x bommer, dirt jumper IIIs, truvativ husselfelt cranks and bb. Titec. FUNN(quality)
Bottom Line: After just two days riding of pretty big staires (7 foot biggest) the bearings are ******! Whats worse is am only 15 and way a measly 7 AND A HALF STONE!!!!!!!!!! Bearings also slow and very unsmooth at start. dont buy if u like going big. (which it actually says on the bb!!) LOL

      Date Reviewed: 2/19/2003 4:33:51 AM
      Duration Product Used: 6 months
      Price Paid: $35
      Purchased At: Bike Canada
Strengths: Has not completely failed yet! ISIS
Weaknesses: Weak and not suited for freeriding. Sticky.
      Similar Products Tried: Shimano XT
Bike Setup: K@ Brass Monkey with XT, rhynos, Titec and Truvative North Shore stuff
Bottom Line: Was sweet when first installed but spindle bent after about 3 months of moderate freeride use. Makes chainrings move slightly out of line. Bearings still in place and rolling but sticky in spots when crank turns. Avoid if you are into any kind of heavy use.

      Duration Product Used: 1 Year
      Purchased At: adrenaline
      Strengths: free
      Weaknesses: rough, heavy, junk
Similar Products Tried: XTR, FSA TI
Bottom Line: I replaced this piece of junk with an FSA TI BB. Isis works great but truvative needs much help with their bb. My Stylo Team crank has been the best and the FSA BB has lasted and worked great.

      FavoriteTrail: Knapps!
      Duration Product Used: 6 months
      Price Paid: $30
Purchased At: Warranty claim from Bicycle bob's
Strengths: It worked well for a while. Hasn't broken and I've thrashed it.
Weaknesses: After a little more than six months of riding I have noticed a large amount of play and some nasty creaking in the bb. The bearings are shot and the thing is a pain and a half to get out. Truvativ should have used a shimano system(deep splines) to remove the bb, not the stupid notches on an outer ring. All but impossible to move. This is my second truvativ bb with the same problem in less than a year.
      Similar Products Tried: Shimano
Bike Setup: Kona Chute, Mr. T, xt discs, race face cranks...etc
Bottom Line: It worked great until the play issues, though installing it was tough and hard to get it in tight enough. The noise is now unbearable, though I may ride on it tommorrow, hopefully I can find a fsa bb at a good price.

Similar Products Tried: Shimano crap, Race Face Evolve DH
Bike Setup: Trek 6000 hardtail frame, Prodigy Cranks, Sun Rhynolite Rims, Panaracer Fire XC Pro tires, Race Face DH bar, Intense lock-jaw grips, Shimano lx componentry, paid more on upgrades than the initial price.
