$2800.00 | | Purchased At: | Mountain Trax UK | | Strengths: | Lightwieght full suspension machine. Best components and framset for the money spent. | | Weaknesses: | More of a race bike than a trail bike. | | Similar Products Used: | Gary Fisher Sugar 1, Specialized FSR XC. | | Bike Setup: | Race Face Turbine cranks & stem. Rox Shox SID SL, R/Shox SID rear shock. Hope sport closed disk system. | | Bottom Line: | What can I say? This bike is absolutely superb. Coming from riding mainly hardtails I thought I would go for a full suspension bike this time but was put off by the bobbing of some brands. Well not on this bike. The Giant NRS system elimates any kind of bobbing and as such it results in a bike which is excellent at both climbing and descending. It is easily controlled on singletrack, even on the slidy rough stuff that the Scottish weather usually causes and is comfortable on the trails. Some people may not like the stiff rear suspension which tends to be a little inoperable on the small bumps but coming from a hardtail this was hardly noticed and the plush ride over the scary stuff made up for it. This bike also comes with excellent top quality components as standard, so requires little money spend on upgrading which makes the initial cost easier to swallow. Overall a terrific ride and a great bike for all occasions, I wouldn't be buying another bike for a long time yet. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
