Description:Giant 1999 ATX 800 Pro Series

Submitted by Kowalski a Weekend Warrior from Melbourne Vic
Date Reviewed: June 15, 1999
Favoriate Trail:
Studley Park
Duration Product Used:
6 months
Strengths:
Very well specced for the money. Great forks and a frame that can take a beating.
Weaknesses:
The Mavic X222's flex a lot so I dont know how much longer they will last. The standard LX pads have worn out real fast and these 99 XT rear derailleurs really suck. They belt into the chain stays when the going gets hard and fast (they do change nice though)
Similar Products Used:
GT Avalanche
Kona Muni Mula
Bike Setup:
Rock Shox Judy XC (who the hell would name a shock after my mother in law)
LX hubs,brakes,cranks & front derailleur
XT rear derailleur
X222 wheels and Kore headstem
Bottom Line:This bike was meant to be a 99 ATX 870 but the bike shop didnt have one in a 21.5 inch frame so they built up this frame for the same money. I have done a bit of racing and this bike and it has been superb. The shocks are soft for my weight (90Kg) but I like em plush any way.
Overall Rating:4
