Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $900.00
Purchased At:towpath bike stop
Strengths:The 98 Gary Fisher Paragon is a great all around bike. I have had no major problems with it in three years, and have been extremely happy with it.
Weaknesses:There are no major weeknesses, but if you want a bike that is really good at one thing this isnt the bike for you. It is best ridden on a true corss country trail.
Similar Products Used:I have also used the 98 big sur, 99 paragon, and several other bike around the same price range. By far i like the 98 paragon the best.
Bottom Line:This is a great bike for any serious cross country rider who doesnt want to pay a lot of money but wants a bike good enough to compete in any X/C race. It is solid and can compete with nearly all other bikes.

Favoriate Trail:

Duration Product Used:
3 months
Strengths:
Sprinting ability
Incredible graphics
Light weight
Weaknesses:
Can be too stiff on long rides
Similar Products Used:
specialized
Bike Setup:
It has a judy xc with bontrager race wheels and an LX/XT mix.
Bottom Line:It's a good bike. I would rather have built up a custom bike, but for the money I won't complain. Too much. The seat had to go. The bontrager equipement (bars, post, etc.) is not the ideal weight. The seat post sucks due to limited motion as well as bieng rock hard and heavy. So far the handlebars have been replaced with eastons ct2 and the post which just broke is slated for replacement with a moot Ti post. On the upside the customer service is great, a new seat post is on the way; and I suspect if anything else breaks it will be taken care of.
Overall Rating:4
