I recently saw a pair on eBay go for more than twice what I paid for them. I've had mine since I bought my Paramount new. I have the silver oones an they are little scuffed up but they still hold fast and look great. I'm going to put some bar tape on them to cushion them a bit and see how that works out.

I agree with other reviewers - these things will protect your digits and will take the punishment so you dont have to. Super comfortable and did i mention Strong. Your bars will bend before these will - mine did. The weight is reasonable. I've had mine for 12 years and the only problem is deciding which bike to keep them on. I need to find another pair or three.

Recently stripped my old bike from 1992 down and found the L-shape ends, black and well scratched. Put on new bike and remembered how great they are for climbing. Great for change in hand position on flats for speed. Protect ya hands from branches on narrow tracks! (plus you can lean ya bike against a wall or on the floor without worrying about damage)

I have used these for over 10 years on 4 different bikes. After numerous crashes, dumps, bumps and scrapes they are still rock solid even after I have busted 2 handlebars with them attached. These things have either come off securely attached to the handlebar fragment or been wrenched off from the impact completely intact while I limp away. They are scraped up quite a bit and the black anodized paint is worn away to expose a nice shiny aluminum finish but I can say hands down these are the best bar ends ever.

I replaced them with some Profile's and though these are good bar ends they do not compare to the Onza's. I eventually stopped using bar ends because I could not find anything comparable to the Onza bar end. They were a great product back in the day and for us XC'ers they would probably still sell pretty well today if they still made em. If you are a cross country rider and can find these nab em, you won't regret it. They were made like bike parts oughta be, simple, thought out and well made. i had a set of raw L-140's that survived three bikes over three years until the bike they were on was stolen. not only are they freakin' light (140 g, hence the name), but i've crashed on them repeatedly and they only got scratched up a bit, no denting. they also were the most comfortable 'ends i've owned, due to the ovalized main section and offset L angle. the clamp is awesome-you can clamp 'em down tight easily. the paint started to wear off, but this made them look cool. the welds affixing the post to the clamp were first rate, although i owned a set of pre-onza buyout bar ends, and since then the new raw bar ends have a slightly lower quality weld, at least esthetically. | | Overall Rating: |

I have a pair of RAW shorties that I bought in 1995. They were purple(hey, it was late at night, you know) but I keep them wrapped in Scott rubber grip tape, so nobody knew. It turns out that drain cleaner takes the color right off, so now they're silver, with a white onZa logo. Spiffy. They've survived many crashes with no signs of damage, and fit my hands real well. But, I just got a rise-bar to ease the pain on my wrists, so I guess they'll be headed to the parts-box. Nice, inexpensive, durable. | | Overall Rating: |

These things are freaken lightweight man!
i have no idea how much mine weigh but they are feel as light as a set of tire levers. Had them for two years now, the black finish has scratched off due to some crashes and abuse but these babies are holding up. I think onza did a super job with these things. What can you say about bar ends? You use 'em for climbing and blocking your hands from trees. That or gaining some kind of status while in the pit area at a race or impressing the girls. All I can say is I have a lot of scratches on mine and the paint is worn where my hands rest on them. They're still working after removing them several times to change other components on my bars. I guess since the Onza stickers are now unreadable only the hardcore product gurus will know what brand I have, but what the heck, the only upgrade I can think I might need is a pair of carbon-fiber bar ends. And that ain't happening 'til these wear out or I have enough extra money to wipe my anus with but decide that traditional toilet paper is softer. Five chili's here!!! | | Overall Rating: |

I have had my Onza bar ends since 1993 on two bikes, including my present 1994 Stumpjumper. They look cool and they feel cool. They have definitely increased my riding ability by 100%. I've had the bar-ends for 4 years. They have survived 3 bikes. Every time they get scratched up, I just spray paint them black again. Last time I bought a new bike I had them take these babies off the old one and put them on the new one, they looked at me like I was out of my mind. These barends are Great! I found them to be lightweight, comfortable and great for climbing. I just got em a few days ago and put them on my new bike. I had these 5 years ago when I got my first bike, I was afraid when I got my new one because I thought Onza stopped production. If they did, well they are back and they are just as good as 5 years ago. I flipped riding the sidewalk at night once recently, they (and my knuckles) took the damage, but I am more concerned about replacing my Bontrager handlebars than I am about my Onza Rips.
