$15.00 | | Purchased At: | ??? | | Strengths: | Fairly cheap, came in a cool titanium color, nice bend shape, came with handle bar plugs. | | Weaknesses: | bonded... a piece of tubing bonded onto an alloy clamp, somes loose easily, and scratches REALLY easily. It's also pretty skinny, a fact that I overlooked. | | Similar Products Used: | Titec Micros (just got them...) | | Bike Setup: | 2002 Trek 4300, clipped pedals, Kore lite 3 stem, Koski seatpost and saddle, Titec barends and handle bar. Soon to be Sun Rhyno light rims... | | Bottom Line: | They worked okay... I had them on a different bike then transferred them onto the above described bike. They don't fit my hand terribly well, but I'm not quite normal sized. The bend offers several positions though, something I may miss with the replacements. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

STX-RC (F/R Deralleurs, V-Brakes, cassette, RF shifters), GT front hub, Suntour AP350 Crank, Kore litebars, Tioga Alchemy headset, WTB seat, Araya TM-820 wheels, Continental T/C tyres. | | Bottom Line: | Nice and smooth in the hand, great fit and finish, slight flex but strong. Not welded as in photo. Would recommend to any one wanting to use for every day commuting or road work. Haven't spent much time off road but would guess from the feel they wouldn't stand up to hard abuse from a 6'+ 200 lb rider. I use them for road use and getting around the town. They made a great deal of difference to the Kore Lightbar, extended the riding positions available. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

They're the only ones I've ever had where I can fit my entire palm on the L-bend, with room to spare. 4 different positions! I've also crashed with them a couple of times with no permanent damage. I wrap them in two layers of athletic tape, which greatly enhances grip, especially in the wet. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

They have been good so far. The are incredibly strong. My bike has fallen, on them a good bit, and even though they scratch easy as anything, they haven't dented. The color matches my handlebars well. They are extremely light, also. | Overall Rating: |

I am very pleased with the performance of these bar ends. However I do not use bar ends anymore, I still admire the durability of these bar ends. I did break the first pair, of course that was understandable because when i took that fall i cracked my crown on my fork. After that i got some trans-X bar ends... those lasted about a heartbeat before one of them took a flying leap to the deep black abyss. i bought a second pair and those took a massive smash... except this time they came out all in one piece 3 chili's for avenir! | Overall Rating: |

I purchased my bar endz about 8 months ago and they were great, lite as anything the only bad thing was that they scratched really easily, i mean evan if you set your bike down on the pavement carefully they would still scratch but that was only because they are alluminium but they are well worth the money, what was it like $20 (australian) or something i'll give them 5 hot chilis farewell fellow XC riders! | Overall Rating: |

I have the newest Avenir barends. I purchased the short ones with the triangular shape. It has a ridge on them for better gripping. I have crashed a couple of times on them, and I have only received a few minor scratches on them. They were an excellent investment and I would recommend them to any of my friends who were seeking bar ends. | Overall Rating: |

These came stock on my Diamondback. They look pretty cool at first (I have the shorter version) but soon scratch and the logo rubs off after a couple of months still you can't see that when you're riding and it doesn't really matter. fdvbjk ekwjfwerjkf vdfkjhjkerlge mkjlgdfkjghks vmfdjkhgdfksjghsm ,vkfdfkjghfs kjdvhvl fdkjjfkhls fdkjhdfkls fkjdv 50 words | Overall Rating: |

Friggin cool bar ends. I've crashed on them so many times. Nothing. Scratches and that's it. Only peeve is that the end caps on the bar ends don't stay on.. Cookie cutter city.. Heh heh... Five chilies.... 2 for sturdiness, 2 for lightness, minus one for end caps, plus two for price! Heh heh... I'll beat the crap outta you with a bat-Evil Yak | Overall Rating: |

i bought the avenir ti team edition bar ends from a shop i worked at for $20. these things are the lightest full length bar ends i've ever seen. i've been using them for two years now and they are incredible. I also used a pair of control tech team issues, i like the larger diameter tubes and the grippy texture also. the only thing i don't like about these 6/4 ti bar ends is that the tubes are a slightly smaller diameter than most. if you have small hands, like me, you're good. if you have larger hands, try them before you buy them. shop around, you can't beat the price. | Overall Rating: |

Got the ones pictured exactly. Save for the black lettering instead of the white. What can I say, they're bar ends. Rating one is like rating a rock. It does what its intended to. I never felt any other pair of bar ends so I don't know if the titanium really makes it that much lighter. I got them for $35 at Bike World. A bit expensive to pay for bar ends if you ask me. | Overall Rating: |

Although not as fancy or good as the more expensive Avenir model pictured above, my bent type Avenir bar ends which I bought from my LBS are quite good and comfortable expecially for climbing up the hill. The contours of the bar ends (I have the long bars) fit my hands perfectly. Heck, even the colors matches that of my bike faithfully. Therefore, I would give my Avenir cheap bar ends 4 chillies because of its rather cheap construction. I felt that the welded one has a better feel and good overall construction. Ofcourse, it costs more though! | Overall Rating: |

The new Avenir Flat Tops simply rock. I replaced a pair of Ritchey Pro WCS bar ends (which were good) with these and the difference is remarkable. The V shape really fits your hand well and is very comfortable on long rides. These are a huge improvement over the old Lite-Stiks and other Avenir bar-ends. | Overall Rating: |

I don't have the model in the picture. Mine are bent tubes (not welded). I love my Avenir bar ends. They are nice and big, yet lightweight enough for my needs. I like how many different positions they offer and how they cover my hands through tight vegetation and falls. You should see the cosmetic damage that the right one took when we slid 10 feet down asphalt! That would've happened to my hands instead! | Overall Rating: |

I bought a set of the Ti Avenir barends (exactly the ones in the picture above) at a hefty discount. I don't know if I'd pay $100 for them, but at $50 I love them. The cut bend fits me very well and they are super light. So far they are also very durable and since they are Ti they should stay that way. The surface is slick, but that's never been a problem. If you like the feel of a cut bend barend (like these and the Control Tech Team Issue) then these are great and among the lightest full size barends you can get, but you pay for it. Given the price I paid I'd give them 5 stars but at a retail of around $100 I can only give them 4. | Overall Rating: |

I bought Avenir barends with my new bike as well, but they don't look anything like the ones in the picture. The ones I got are the Avenir Pro Series L-Bend. They work great, my only complaint is that they will move a bit when you are really hammering up a steep hill. I've had to stop and slam my barend back down into place a few times, it's a pain in the ass.. but I give them 4 stars! They're light. | Overall Rating: |

I bought Avenir Bar-ends with my new bike this year, and Im pretty pleased with them. They arent anything special (I dont think bar-ends offer much to work with), but they are effective. They weigh about average for ends, and offer a couple of different grips for climbing.
