Description:Gary Fisher Fish Sticks

Submitted by William Syx-Spears a Weekend Warrior from Downey CA
Date Reviewed: February 27, 2002
Favoriate Trail:anything free of automobiles
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Purchased At:Russels Bike Shop Downey CA
Strengths:Good Shape, and clamp, good grip surface
Weaknesses:in my case size
Similar Products Used:Cycle Pro oversized bar ends
Bike Setup:Gary Fisher Paragon, mostly stock
Bottom Line:Too small for my big mits. These are quite adequate bar ends for the average persons hands they hold up well have a good comfortable shape and knurled surface, a solid effective clamp and are nicely finished. They continue to work well, on my wifes bike! I bought Cycle Pro oversized bar ends about 30% larger and much fatter diameter but with the same shape and surface, my hands are much happier now. The Gray Fishers would do the job for anyone with small or average hand size, a good overall product.

Date Reviewed: September 19, 2001
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $20.00
Purchased At:Westchester Pro Bike Shop
Strengths:Perfect size. Rigid. Simple and effective.
Weaknesses:None so far.
Bike Setup:Cannondale Super V400
Bottom Line:Wasn't sure if these babies would get the job done but they do. Not too short and not too tall either. Great solution for anyone who needs to relieve hand pain (my primary reason for buying) or get more power uphill.

Favoriate Trail:
bear creek
Duration Product Used:
3 months
Strengths:
Great clamping mechanism
fat
good grip
Weaknesses:
clamp can bend bar: use bar end reinforcements
Similar Products Used:
trek, profile
Bike Setup:
fully rigid GT avalanche
Bontrager racelite bar
Bottom Line:these might not be best for everyone. I love them due to the size. You can really get a hold on them. The grip surface is great too. caution: be sure to torque bolts to factory settings, they can easily crush the end of your bars.
Overall Rating:4
