$20.00 | | Strengths: | Feels like its a part of my hand. Allows you to feel everthing (even bumnps, but tape/grips handle that). Easy install w/ non-galling screws. | | Weaknesses: | A little heavy and long, so ungainly. The end is tighter that other ends, making it hard to plug. | | Similar Products Used: | N/A | | Bike Setup: | Strapped on both Easton's and Ritchey Pro's with Bontrager Bzzzkills. | | Bottom Line: | Get then if you think you will actually ride with your hands on 'em and you dont trust carbon fiber. These bar-ends break all the rules. I usually don't place reviews until I've really given a product time to prove itself but for these I had to when I recently stuck them hard into the ground on a rocky endo crash and the only damage suffered was a little scrape on the ends. If I do something major to them, I will update, if no update, then they are still running fine.
Going to rant a little about where to buy these- so if you are uninterested- don't bother to read!
To reviewer below: Bought mine from Supergo, and they did come with end caps- watch out for Pricepoint- I have heard of a lot of problems with them, including my own (misrepresented the cheaper japanese CNC'd cranks as the cold forged American version, would not take back or correct; then told me that they could not give me the price on a pair of shorts that I ordered through their site because THEY listed the wrong price- hello? I have a receipt saying THIS item at THIS price???). Dealing with them after the fact on any of those issues is a moot point- you will not hear back. There is a reason they are $.50 cheaper than elsewhere- they gyp you outta $1.50! Go elsewhere if possible! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

The clamps are well-contoured and hardly noticable in any grip position.
I haven't crashed hard on them yet, but they've held up to a few dings and tree-scapes very well.

Great barends for the money. Usually one of the cheaper set of barends. The Bontrager Race 6061-T6 aluminum barends are strong, reliable, light barends. Despite their non-ostenatious appearance, the humble Bontragers are proven performers. They are thin, but provide more than enough strength and hold for those hard climbs.I am unsure as to if other colors are available, but my Bontrager Race barends are black finish. A bad enough crash will chip/scratch the finish, but they do not affect the performance of these bar ends. Most barends will chip in the same way though. In summary, a good high-value product. Strong and light. A welcome addition to any cross-country rider's bike.

I've been riding the Long Style Race Bar Ends. At first I thought these were just like all the other similar looking bar ends from Taiwan. I have found them to be very well made bar ends. When I first put them on, I was surprised at how well they clamped with minimal tightning. I've put all my trust in these on extended standing climbs and they've never slipped or given in any way. There is just enough to grab on to, and the angles are anthropometrically correct. These bar ends have kissed trees, rocks, pavement and the side of my house on numerous occasions, yet they show no denting or major scarring, just a few character scuffs Without the silkscreening, these would be fairly generic in appearance. But I have to say, like all Bontrager products, they perform the task they were designed for excellently. | Overall Rating: |
