from Boise, ID, USA Date Reviewed: November 3, 2006 | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Strengths: | strength, stiffness, suspension quality, durability, looks | | Weaknesses: | absolutely none, Buy this bike for what its meant to be and you will love every part of it. | | Similar Products Used: | Cannondale gemini, Santa Cruz Bullit | | Bike Setup: | Fox Van 36 RC2 fork, lousie FR brakes, Hugi hubs with singletrack hoops. X0 drivetrain and saint cranks | | Bottom Line: | I have the cromo front triangle, aluminum swingarm version. Bike is absolutely incredible. Parallel linkage system is the best suspension I've ridden and can't sing enough praise for it. My build is on the heavy side at 38 lbs. Meant to be a do all FR/mini DH bike I can still pedal. This bike has a rising rate linkage that gives you super supple small hit with great ramp. I can carry speed through rocks like a full on DH bike and not bottom out on the 10+ foot drops. This bike seriously flows. You know it hits bumps, but it just goes right through them. There is no deceleration forces, just gentle feedback. Its sooo good. Steel gives you a great feel and no worries with ovalizing or denting. Because of the rearward path that gives it such great bump absorption, there is pedal feedback. It is a little different to get used to but once you do, you can use it to really plant the power when climbing. Also, the Canfield Bros are amazing to deal with. Chris is one of the most enthusiastic people I've met and Lance is the cool numbers guy. If you see me or anybody else out there with one of these. Ask to ride it. Nobody who owns one of these bikes can do so without wanting to show it off. You will similarily be amazing... Promise. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
