      Purchased At: halfords
Strengths: Great adjustability, tuff as hell, nice and plush when broke in

      Similar Products Tried: none
Bike Setup: 07 kona stinky with full diabolus kit, 66 ata, e 13 drs and mavic ex 729 rims on hope hubs
Bottom Line: A great tuff adjustable freeride fork and definately worth buying, maybe marzocchi could bring out a flatter ata dial

Strengths: Amazingly strong with over 6 AJUSTMENTS!! looks very sexy, and that ata travel ajust works amazingly well.
Weaknesses: people are complaining about how the QR axel stays at an awkward position, all you have to do it put a little muscle into it and it goes to the direction it should be. other than that there is no weakness!
Similar Products Tried: fox 36, totem, fox 40, jr. t, sherman breakout +(never buy a sherman breakout)
Bike Setup: 2008 baby blue transition bottle rocket, marzocchi roco tst-r, avid code 5, race face cranks, sram x.9, white transition revolution wheels w/ red hubs, 5050xx gold pedals, protaper os bars, king headset, tbc red stem and a e.13 srs chain guide.
Bottom Line: GREAT FORK! it wont let you down. from climbing to freeriding its the best all round fork i have ever had. you should definitly buy this fork it is great!

      Purchased At: ebay
Strengths: Super plush, a lot of adjustability, travel adjustment, quick release axel, light for what it is, looks darn good!
Weaknesses: Every time I change the travel I end up pulling the knob off. Not a big deal though.
Similar Products Tried: 36 TALAS, 66VF, All Mountain 1SL ATA. I just realized that I’ve owned 19 different forks since 1995. wow
Bike Setup: Intense 6.6, juicy 7s, XT all about, Maverick speedball R.
Bottom Line: I’ve had many forks over the years and none have impressed me more than this one. The ride quality is just unbelievable. I was worried that this was going to be a bit overkill on my all mountain bike but the ride quality offsets the weight gain. I ride extremely rocky terrain and this fork keeps me glued to the ground. Its amazing how much faster this fork will allow you to go into turns without washing out or getting bounced off line in the loose stuff. If you ride hard, push yourself and your bike and care more about ride quality than a little additional weight then you really cant go wrong with the 66 ATA.

Duration Product Used: More than 3 years
      Price Paid: $1000
Strengths: One of the best forks I hav EVER RIDDEN. The adjustibilaty really made a difference and offered a large variety of tuning for a top performance for all mountain all the way to extreme downhill. Very good progressiveness along with great bottom out control. I've taken this fork on some of the roughest downhill trails in whistler and the northshore and never bottomed.
      Weaknesses: nothing at all ! ! !
Similar Products Tried: 36 Fox Float RC2, Rockshox totem solo air and the marzocchi 888's
Bike Setup: norco six 1 08 avid brakes sram x-9 drivetrain and gravity light components.
Bottom Line: If your the type of person who wantsa fork that can handle the roghest terrain with ease then this should defintly be the top fork on your list. It's expensive but you could not buy a better fork so I'd say it has a great value.

Strengths: everything!!! GREAT FORK AND JUST AS RELIABLE AS ANY OF THE FOX 36 LINE. ATA works very well. Never bottomed it EVER!!! plush progresive travel and can be used for many types of riding with the 40mm of infinite travel adjust. I had a 55 ATA before but the 66 ATA is just so much better. Best thing about this fork is it's totally reliable and will not bottom out. You can throw anything at it and it will take it like candy. Adjustability defintly makes a difference.
      Weaknesses: nothing so far
Similar Products Tried: fox 36 RC2 line
Bike Setup: transition bottlerocket 66 ATA, Marzocchi roco TST R coil with Titanium spring
Bottom Line: Best fork you will ever get way better than any of the rockshox totem line and maybe even a little better than any of the fox 36 RC2

      Purchased At: came with bike
Strengths: Super smooth, adjustable, looks great, handles great, quick release axle, feels bottomless, ata travel adjust, stiff
Weaknesses: The owners manual is a joke. Doesnt tell you anything about the shock or how to tune it. Made some noises when it was new but they have gone so not a problem anymore.
Similar Products Tried: fox 36, boxxer team, totem
Bike Setup: Stock 2008 norco six 1
Bottom Line: The owners manual is crap. It does take a bit to tune this fork but once you get it right its great. I havnt had any problems with the wind down, it does wind down about a quarter of a turn but it doesnt loose any travel so thats not a problem. I use this fork for freeride, downhill and all-mountain and I think its perfect. It will be on my bike for a while to come. Plus its looks sick with its 38mm shiny silver stanchions. Highly recomend it.

      Price Paid: $1000
      Purchased At: Mountain High Cyclery
Strengths: Its very plush and versatile. It feels better than my Totem Coil. ATA is very convenient for climbing. QR is a big plus. Stiff. nice decals and great looks. Nice functioning of the knobs.
Weaknesses: After 1 ride the ATA was done and had to be fixed. The manual doesn't deserve its name and is a disaster. For a first time ATA user to find the valve was a big mistery. Setting up is relatively easy. Needs compression not to loose lots of travel. QR stays in unconvenient position. ATA not as fast a the Talas System however workable.
      Similar Products Tried: Totem Coil
Bike Setup: Bullit 08 FR Kit X9
Bottom Line: The fork once is fixed and set up is a real winner and is very much to be recommended. It's way better than any Fox ever tested (even though I still own 2 of them). Super plush, stiff and I am considering buying a 55 as well. Manual and quality at first is a real disaster - Italians can do better

Strengths: Like a coil feel, very plush and plenty stiff, very good feel with ATA system engaged (still plush), good damping adjustability - turning the knobs realy makes a diference you would expect, infinite possibility at progressive curve adjustments (PAR)
Weaknesses: Only 175mm of sliders exposed, Marzocchi claims 180mm full travel?! ATA wind-down issue from 07 SL1 ATA isn't fixed!!! That really pisses me off!!! They (Marzocchi) had plenty of time to work on this issue! QR lock stops in very unsuitable position - pointing down when wheel is tighten up It is not possible to turn it that it would point up. I think that Marzocchi should significantly increase quality control and add some more out of box usability to their (special flagship like 66 ATA) forks.

Bike Setup: 2007 Giant Reign X0, stock except fork & brake rotors
Bottom Line: The performance of the fork is really exceptional once serviced and adjusted properly. Feels like a coil ... I hope that ATA wind-down will be fixed under warranty. If you want a top performance air freeride fork and you are a little of hobby mechanic with good nerves (Marzocchi tech support) this is no doubt a fork for you!

Strengths: looks cool, it does not bottom out, and it fits a 203mm rotor with no adapter.
Weaknesses: wheels always loose. lots of play in the bushings. took 2 weeks to set up. has almost 1" of sag under the bikes weight.
Similar Products Tried: todem & fox talas
      Bike Setup: transition dirtbag
Bottom Line: if you want to work on your bike all the time then its a perfect buy. if you like the feeling of a loose headset then its the one for you. if not then buy something else

Strengths: plush plush plush, ata .140 for trail 180 for downhill/northshore
Weaknesses: damned user manuals ,how hard can it be?must be an italian thing. The ata knob hits the frame in certain positions.make sure its in the right direction when crashing hahahah.
Similar Products Tried: fox float 36 (bad small bump)888 to heavy for northshore but buttery.
Bike Setup: intense uzzi vpx ,lightweight set up for trail.with a downhill wheelset for the roughstuff.
Bottom Line: I'm a 90 kg downhiller that rides up the mountain if I have to.I wanted a fork to do it all .Basically ride trail with nice jumps thrown in to the mix but also want to get up the hill without braking my back.I had a 36 and 888 but had to swap forks
Feels verry plush and ata works like a charm.no wind-down as 07 model .good working axel system.

Can anyone tell me if the 3de air valve is under the ata knob before I demolish the ata?And what does it do?

Duration Product Used: Less than 1 month
      Price Paid: $600
Strengths: Incredibly plush (feels like a coil!), very adjustable, fairly light, and very stiff. It was very easy to set up and tracks like nothing else I've ridden and can take anything I have been able to throw at it. And unlike some forks, with the travel reduced the fork can still be ridden comfortably without the fork topping out hard and destroying itself.
Weaknesses: The travel adjust is less convenient than the Talas, but is not by any means irritating or difficult to use. Maybe isn't as much of an all mountain fork as I had hoped, but it hasn't slowed me down at all yet either.
Similar Products Tried: 07 Fox 36 Talas RC2, 07 Totem Coil, 07 Lyrik Coil
      Bike Setup: Nomad
Bottom Line: I've taken it on several rides now and have not been able to bottom it out! It is so much more plush and progressive that my old Fox, and even though it's slightly heavier, it feels less dense on the front of the bike, so it's easier to throw around. It's as plush as the coil forks I've ridden, yet it's so light. It's amazing.

When I was setting it up originally I wondered what the air chamber inside the upper left stanchion did, so I called Marz tech support. They told me that it was a preload adjustment leftover from the coil models and to leave it at ambient air pressure. In other words zero. I have experimented with it, and it really is just a preload adjustment, and acts like it should. I weight around 160lbs and run 115 in the top right and 140 in the right lower with 8 clicks compression from full open. The fork automatically balances high and low speed compression. With the Fox I had difficulty adjusting it between being plush and having awesome small bump compliance, and bottom out resistance on big hits. The Totem had the small bump compliance, and had good bottom out resistance as well, but it wasn't as plush, as light, or as progressive. It just didn't feel as good, and it wasn't as stiff so it didn't track as well in steep off camber sections or over sharp hits, or both.

Bottom line is that this is the best fork I've ridden, even out of the box before it's broken in. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a little more weight on the way up for a massive performance gain on the way down. It really is incredible. I'll post again with durability results later on.
