Submitted by Justin M a Cross Country Rider from MD
      Date Reviewed: 12/20/2007 6:14:27 AM
      Duration Product Used: 1 Year
      Price Paid: $325
      Purchased At: Ebay! (new)
Strengths: Extremely reliable, just right for riders just at or under 175lbs, comfortable, stiffens on long downhills, would probably even work for a light weight rider doing downhill riding.
Weaknesses: Is only recomended to be pumped to 175 psi which may not allow some larger riders, intrinsic damping doesnt adjust noticably enough to be extremely useful. Not enough ppl know about its magical powers which helps you with post ride "soreness", seriously.
Similar Products Tried: Manitou SIX (dont use!!!), Rockshox duke (they work great), Headshok (not the greatest, but good)
Bike Setup: Specialized Enduro Comp, 2007 componentry, '03 frame, nothin like an solid older frame :)
Bottom Line: This review is for an '06 Nixon Platinum. (They're still pretty widely in circulation) This fork really doesnt recieve enough attention. Its one of the greatest XC forks iv ever ridden and still very versatile. I think Manitou scared every1 away with the 900$ MSRP. But its widely available for under 350$, for this level of quality its unbeatable. I weigh 150lbs 5'10" and it works perfectly.

      Price Paid: $550
      Purchased At: ebay
Strengths: plush , it works perfectly , 160mm travel
Weaknesses: through axle works loose giving front wheel bearing play , not really a problem I just tighten it every ride
Similar Products Tried: nixon 2005 platinum , fox 36 ,
      Bike Setup: ibis carbon mojo
Bottom Line: this review is for the 07 nixon plat. it model 160mm , 20mm aXLE .

this fork works well , not as stiff as fox 36 but overall a better fork for me . i love the it adjustment , intrinsic DAMPNING adjustment is more plush than previous spv version . 160mm travel is better on my bike for steep downhills and drops .

had several problems with the it and oil leaks on the 2005 model but I liked the fork so much that I brought a new one 2007 model , no problems at all . works perfect .
