Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $130.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:-Air system, easy to tune between trail or street
-Hydraulic rebound damping works too good
-Pretty stiff for a fork in its class
-Holds up to drops well, survived an 8 footer with a 80kg rider on it
-Looks good?
-Able to change the amount of travel(go download suntour's workshop manual for a picture guide)
Weaknesses:EXTREMELY hard to find as there is no Suntour distributor in Malaysia...
Similar Products Used:First time using an air setup...
Bike Setup:GT Avalanche 2.0,mostly mixed parts
Bottom Line:I'm from Malaysia and mostly i do street almost everyday with some amount of downhilling during the weekends and i weigh 80kgs..

Bought this fork after reading TONS of reviews and finally decided to buy it after locating a bike shop near my area who still have one more unit in hand....

got ths fork for RM430 which translates to roughly USD130 and it was hell worth my money...

used this fork in a DH competition when it was still set to 100mm travel and surprisingly it survived an 8ft drop as if it was nothing..

for an air fork, this fork is surprisingly plush and reliable,at least plusher than my friend's Marz AM3 which is kinda sticky and have an annoying tendency to top out like mad and i kinda digg the sound of the hydraulic rebound damping working...

recently i've discovered a complete Workshop Manual available for download on suntour's website under the downloads section and was very much surprised when i saw one of the topics was 'how to convert the travel of an Epicon Suspension Fork' and followed the guide completely and after 10 minutes of tinkering, managed to get my 100mm fork to a beefy 140mm travel fork....

bottom line is this fork have extremely good value for money, requires minimum maintenence and looks cool in its full black casing+stanchions...

costs half the price of a Marz AM3(2007) but performs twice as good...

5 flamin' chillies for its extremely cheap price but definitely not cheap in performance

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $199.00
Purchased At:local dealer
Strengths:looks good for me
if you want more ore less travel its easy to convert
absorbs good
I love the remote Lockout
air preassure damping can be very well adjusted to your needs
Weaknesses:no posing quality :-)
no rebound adjust
the originally used oil was not ideal
no v brake and max 180mm disc diameter
Similar Products Used:Used cheaper suntour forks before (XCM/XCT) the difference between those and my epicon is rally big
Bike Setup:CC Hardtail Deore Components and EpiconRl 100mm
Bottom Line:I bought the fork in Feb. 2008 at my local dealer for nearly 200€ allthough you can get it much cheaper, the price is nearly unbeatable for the quality you get here, the fork worked well frome the first day on, but last week i tuned it a little bit, i converted the travel from 80 to 100 mm, which is quite easy (you just have to take out one spacer, if you take out 2 or all the three spacers inside you can go up to 120 or even 140mm travel) however I also put some new oil in (7,5w motorex) and since I did that it works really good I use my bike for my daily way to work and its like flying through the city now. I also testet it yesterday for its mtb qualities and it really worked great in its natural environement, stones, rocks roots and whatever comes in your way, absolutely no problem!!!
I can only recommend it, allthoug i have to admit its the first "good" fork I have not testet the rebas or fox forks that my even work better, but if you need a good and solid fork that makes a lot of fun in the mountains, GO FOR IT!!!!

Price Paid: $117.00
Purchased At:Ross Cycles
Strengths:- Air System = Awesome! Absorbs Medium to Big bumps very well.

- Hydraulic Remote speed-lock = Works effeciently

- Rebound adjust = Very accurate
Weaknesses:- Nothing major. I just noticed that it does not absorb small bumps well, which was very much highlighted by other users at 2007 EPICON review. Adjustment to the PSI might do the trick.

- Bling factor?! WHO CARES! This fork works GREAT for the budget to performance ratio.
Similar Products Used:- First time to use Air System Fork
Bike Setup:2007 KHS Alite 1000 (Gray) / 2007 Shimano Deore DCL group / Suntour EPICON - RLD Fork / Kenda ExCavator 2.1 (Folding) / Mavic 223 rims
Bottom Line:This Fork is GREAT! This might not be the best but it really works so so very well and effeciently. For its price to performance ratio, this fork is really quality for money.

I'm no hardcore rider nor an expert. I'm just an average XC rider who enjoys riding the trail. I'm 210lbs andeven if I'm just new with Air system forks I really felt the performance and quality this fork can give out. It really fits my budget and performance needs.

I would recommend this Fork BIG TIME!

Favoriate Trail:Off-Urban
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $120.00
Purchased At:King's, Quiapo
Strengths:'Tis for the Epicon RLD with 120mm of travel:
- Adjustability: Rebound damping, Air Pressure
- Predictability: Rebound damping, Remote lock-out
- Agility: Lighter than most
- Comfortable: Air is simply more compressible.
Weaknesses:'Tis might apply to both black and/or white model:
- Looks: Not so much bling-factor but who really cares. Right?
Similar Products Used:First air cartridge so this will have me spoilt for some time.
Bike Setup:2008 Trek HT, Xero'es, Avids, FSA's, and then some, then some.
Bottom Line:Coming from coil systems, I must admit the change to air is immensely noticable. Front-end became lighter and more controllable. Riding on air is simply rhetoric. Suspension and damping characterisitics are above-average to superb. I was saving up for some Foxes or Rockshox's but I found out that this was all my hardtail basically needed and much cheaper (way cheaper...) to boot.

If riding for exercise, necessity, or just the pleasure of it, this will do you more than enough. If you're into bling-factor, hard-core and often life-threatening competition, you should look elsewhere. Had 300 kilometres on them, on and off-road, hasn't dissapointed me just yet.

One more thing I especially liked about them air is the swooshing sound when the chamber is suddenly compressed/decompressed; example is when dropping off forefirst. Reminds me of my Garrett's blow-off valve. That's enough bling for me.

Strengths:I have used this fork for 6 months to present, the fork is still working as if it was brand new. Works great. The chamber for the air is strong, damping and rebound is great. Watch out marzocchi, manitou and fox coz Sr Suntour will clame a spot on the most trusted forks. I'm from europe I go to whistler often and I use this Sr Suntour fork epicon many times in Whistler. A guy in this review said this fork never gives up, it just goes anywhere. i agree on that.
Weaknesses:none. just check the air pressure according to your weight and everything will be all fine.

Strengths:Just what people say about this fork the durability and simple design. This fork kicks high end forks' ass. Good for all mountain, xc, downhill. The air chamber is strong, does not pop. The lockout is strong as well. Rebound is well and fine.
Weaknesses:None that i can think of.
Bike Setup:I use this product on my two mountain bikes. Santa cruz & yeti. Shimano xt, race face, crank brothers.
Bottom Line:Got this fork for christmas in 2006. SR Suntour is not the best brand name in mountain biking but this brand really kicks ass. Its great! Buy it!

Strengths:The looks, great durability, the travel is ok,light weight for a 5 inch travel fork. rebound is fine. Reliable for 5 feet jumps. absorbs bumps just like some high end forks. can be compared with rock shox recon and manitou R7. the looks is simply designed. who needs lots of design on looks anyways as long as it is reliable. the price is insanely nice.
Weaknesses:none so far.
Similar Products Used:Rock shox recon and manitou Ry
Bike Setup:merlin full suspension frame. shimano xtr comp and some fsa stuff.
Bottom Line:recommended for those tight budget riders. excellent for entry level, fine for mid xtreme riders and good enough for high xtreme riders

Favoriate Trail:Maarat trail
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $111.00
Purchased At:Kings bikeshop
Strengths:At 4.01lbs. its lightweight in its class, REBOUND adjustment. very very cheap! P4,800 brandnew. Plush and stiff,no joke!

Weaknesses:
Stickers on the legs has some annoying bubbles.Aside from that,no problem with this fork.
Similar Products Used:Suntour Axon air fork 2005,been using for 2years. Suntour Axon air fork 2007,used for about 7mos. Rockshox Reba,Recon,Fox F100,Manitou Nixon,Marzocchi Atom 80 and Marathon xc.
Bike Setup:Cannondale rush with Sram XO system.
Bottom Line:i love my 2 Axon forks,i sold my 7mos.old Axon. but i still have my 2year old Axon fork which my cousin still uses. from the time i put it on my bike and inflated the required psi,i never touched it since then. no air and oil leaks, very very very dependable and durable. the only thing thats keeping my axon from 5 star rating is that it doesnt have rebound adjustment. but now for 2008, they released Epicon,120mm.travel with all the features of Axon plus a rebound adjustment that really works. its travel fits my fs bike, its compression mates with my fox rp23. try closing your eyes then compress the fork. you wud mistaken it for a bomber, its stiff enuf when u turn the bar on an almost deadstop. at first i couldnt believe how perfect this cheap fork is. i have used different expensive fork brands before, but none surpasses the durability, value, dependability of my old Axon Fork.i believe that my new Epicon would be just the same. Rockshox dual air chambers leaked during a 24hr race,Bomber's TST adjustment became inaccurate afetrsometime,Fox's oil leaked on the oil seals.i never experienced any of these from my Axon even after using it once in a 24hour race and once in a marathon race and a couple of endurance races. After using the Epicon twice on the trail,i must say its way better than my Axon. the Epicon performs fairly on small bumps on low speed. but it performs best on medium to big bumps on a moderate and fast speed,it soaks everything it hits. It even has a lockout which u can adjust the sensitivity so u can sprint without bobbing too much but still allow some movement for small bumps. im not a sales rep for suntour, but i believe this fork would be the most under rated fork for this season. If u are looking for a 5inch fork who does serious trail riding, races once in a while and doesnt mind the brand,go for this fork.

5 stars for value, 5 stars for performance
