from Whitby, Ontario, Canada Date Reviewed: March 12, 2008 | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Strengths: | none | | Weaknesses: | Bottoms out, and tops out all the time. Too bouncy. | | Bottom Line: | Well, if you are a novice rider and your budged is a vriable, then sure go ahead a buy it, but don't buy as an add on (upgrade) because it isn't. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Northern IL Date Reviewed: February 10, 2008 | | Duration Product Used: | Less than 1 month | | Strengths: | Free (in that it came on my bike), it takes the shock off your hands for small bumps, capable of supporting my 195 lbs, adjustable preload, seems fairly strong for a cheap fork | | Weaknesses: | No damping, no lockout, no rebound adjustment, only 75 mm of travel, some stiction noted, | | Similar Products Used: | None yet, but I have a 2007 Marzocchi XC 600 on order | | Bike Setup: | Stock 2008 Raleigh Mojave 4.0 with Eggbeater C clipless pedals and Shimano shoes. I have a replacement Marzocchi fork on order. | | Bottom Line: | Well, I've used this fork for two weeks and have little experience with other forks, yet I can already tell that a fork upgrade is necessary. Surprisingly, however, I have not been able to bottom the fork out even at 195 lbs body weight.
If your doing light offroad or sidewalk riding it will take out the small bumps, but if you plan on doing any moderate or extended off road riding this fork isn't the best choice.
If it comes on the bike I'd ride it and judge for yourself. DO NOT buy this fork as an add on. If you want an inexpensive Suntour fork, consider the Epicon or Axon. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Perth, WA, Australia Date Reviewed: November 27, 2007 | | Favoriate Trail: | None - I'm a commuter. | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Purchased At: | Came with my bike. | | Strengths: | Great for smoothing out bumps on the road and pavement, low maintenance, cheap. | | Weaknesses: | Not suitable for real off-roading, pre-load adjustment is minimal and the pre-load knob is difficult to turn, no lockout. | | Similar Products Used: | None. | | Bike Setup: | 2007 Giant Boulder. | | Bottom Line: | It is NOT good for off-road riding - it's not adjustable enough and there isn't enough travel. It might handle the occasional light off-roading, but is probably not durable enough for regular sessions on the trail.
It absorbs bumps on the road and pavement well enough to make it great for commuting, but a lockout would have been nice for when I feel like sprinting out of my saddle. Although it's cheap and I say it's good for commuting, I don't recommend buying it specifically for commuting. What I mean by this is that if you see it on a bike you'd like for commuting, you won't need to upgrade your suspension as it will not let you down.
It deserves 4 chilis for commuting, but I have to give it 2 chilis since it is not suitable for off-road riding. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Canada Date Reviewed: June 24, 2007 | | Favoriate Trail: | snake trail | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Strengths: | it holds the bike up. good for small jumps | | Weaknesses: | everthing!!! the adjustment does not work bottoms out and tops out. biggest drop like 3 feet or it bottoms out. oil leeks | | Bike Setup: | Nocro Katmandu upgraded but fork | | Bottom Line: | Only buy if you have too. Do not use for jumping it sucks but if you just road ride and would like a fork go ahead. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
