Favoriate Trail:calabogie peaks
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $1.00
Purchased At:sport chek
Strengths:it seems strong, looks good, absorbs the odd hit, the paint matches the aniki's so thats a bonus i guess
Weaknesses:the forks come with what would seem to be leaking seals, they bottom out off drops quite easy, the pre load dosnt work at all, you can hear what sounds to be sloshing oil just flowing around when the fork is compressed.
Similar Products Used:dj3
Bike Setup:ironhorse aniki
Bottom Line:they allow you to have a front wheel to your bike... the bike itself is good for the price but id recomend getting better forks and a rear shock, i have a fox DHX 3.0 comming and either a boxxer team or a bomber super t rv on order and the bike will be mint.

Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $450.00
Purchased At:Came with Aniki on ebay
Strengths:good looks,
travel,
stong,
reasonable value
Weaknesses:performance,
oil on stanchions after rides,
slow rebound,
very stiff,
size of seals, they need to be special ordered right from spinner, no bikeshops carry them.
Similar Products Used:Marzocchi drop off IV, Dirt jumper 4, Drop off, dirt jam comp,
Bike Setup:2007 iron horse yakuza aniki stock except for:
Sram X.9 rear derailuer
and Bought a Drop off II, just have to put it on in replace on my Spinner Ammo
Bottom Line:It is a good fork for a beginner.
It is very stiff and low quality.
Slow rebound, and doesn't ubsorb little bumps, just big drops and high impacts. Ex 3 foot to flat

Great bike, but the fork is a little bit of a bummer.

If you are just looking for a fork to cruise with, this is good, but it isn't a hardcore fork by any means,
but for the time i had it, it did its job

Strengths:strong, travel is good, easy setup.
Weaknesses:very inconsistant- works great one minute, like crap the next 5.
no rebound adjustment.
its hard to 'fix up'.
Bike Setup:stock 06 aniki
Bottom Line:ok fork. good for beggining, but after a while it gets annoying. i wouldnt buy this fork if you are "experianced" and need a consistant fork. but if you are just getting into freeriding, try it and see if you like that kind of travel and riding.

Date Reviewed: January 17, 2008
Favoriate Trail:Ray's Indoor, UW-Madison Campus
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:Performance Bike
Strengths:Strengths? Well, it is definitely strong...that's about it. Oh, and it has a 71mm brake disc mount, make 203mm rotors a cinch.
Weaknesses:It seems to double the weight of any bike it's installed on. From reading other reviews it seems everyone who had one had a incredible amount of variance. Some people complained about harsh top-outs or too stiff or too plush, so I'd say quality control is probably an issue.

My experience was that it was basically rigid fork. The only way I ever got mine to compress was to heave myself bodily onto the handlebars and I'd move it about 3 inches. The manual claimed that the one adjustment knob was for preload, but nothing I did ever seemed to have any effect on the action of the fork. It also had a glacial-speed rebound.

I tried doing an easy downhill with it on the Yakuza Aniki it came on, but as I came up to a drop, the front end had packed down so far I landed and was launched over the bars, landing 25 feet from the bike. Glad I wasn't hurt too badly.
Bike Setup:It WAS on my '07 Yakuza Aniki. Now that bike has gone from a JuniorT, to a 145mm DJ1 and probably onto a 55 ATA soon. Sram drivetrain, WTB Dual Duty FR wheels, Kenda Kinetics 2.60 front, 2.35 rear.
Bottom Line:It's something of a curio; a 150mm Freeride fork that is also cheap. You get what you pay for. It is a very sturdy fork if nothing else, not flexible in the least...It seems like from reading other reviews that people had a variety of complaints/compliments...So if you got one of the ones that actually seems to work, congratulations. If not, my condolences, upgrade to a Rock Shox Domain or a 55 or 66 or something like that.

Strengths:looks sleek and has good wieght
Weaknesses:too rigid, sever topping out, slow rebound
Bike Setup:06 ironhorse
Bottom Line:this is a good beginning fork for a rider who doesnt know the difference if he felt it. if you want something cheep this is the one for you. i am 130+ pounds with all my gear and sometimes the fork just doesnt do the job on large drops. if your looking for a trail fork this is not a good one because the rebound is extremely slow.

Bike Setup:06 yakuza aniki factory
Bottom Line:this is a good fork. i would recoomend it to any begginer who needs a cheap fork. the fork tends to vary though. my friend got the same bike from the same place and his fork is almost twice as good as mine. mine on the other hand is ok. i havent gone off anything huge yet but this fork works great for me on any drops under 6-7 ft. the bike is a great freeride bike for me. i can maneuber it easily and it soaks it right up if i mess up.overall its a good fork if your looking for something that is cheep and works fairly well

Bottom Line:if had it for like 4 days and hit some drops nothing that big yet only like five feet and the shock is good works fine so far smooth sorta stiff but can be adjusted alot there is a lot of oil and the rebound is messed up but its a good fork i plan on taking it out to really test it on something a lot bigger than i have if u want a nice fork thats not like 500$ get it.

Similar Products Used:Rock Shox
Bike Setup:Kona Stinky with SRAM chain, shifters, derailleurs, Sun Rims, Azonic handlebar, Race Face cranks, seatpost, headset and stem, WTB seat, Fox Vanilla shock and crappy Spinner Fork
Bottom Line:No shock absorbing from this thing.I built my bike on a budget and this was the cheapest fork I could get at the time. Now I'm mad I didn't wait. It's an older model so hopefully they changed it by now. It's 150 mm of travel but it has only moved about 40mm. And the stachions have way too much oil on them after a ride. I hate this fork. It probably needs a rebuild but I'm not going to waste my time.

Bottom Line:The bottom line is dont waste your money. you can get a used 888 in good condition for the same price, if not less. This thing has NO adjustibility, has crap for rebound, NO high speed compression WHATSOEVER, tops out with even the TINEYEST amount of lost oil, the leg caps are PLASTIC, i think the crown is too... dont buy it. Might be good for a DJ fork if u have one lying around but other then that...

Favoriate Trail:50 year trail - Tucson, AZ
Duration Product Used:6 months
Purchased At:Performace Bike
Strengths:Its got 34mm stantions so it looks pretty burly I guess. The matte silver color matches also my bike.... hmmm...
Weaknesses:It tops out so hard it jars everything from your arms to your eardrums. Even off small drop-offs, as you leave the ground and the shock fully extends, it sounds and feels the same as smacking an anvil with a mallet. For having 150mm of travel also, you think there would be a bit more shock absorbtion. The fork is just weird. I guess the simplest way to describe its shock absortion is that it is just not as plush as other freeride forks or forks with similar travel. It also leaks and you will be constantly cleaning greese off of the left stantion tube and oil off the top of the right stantion tube. Its also fairly heavy for what it is. Claimed weight is 5.8lbs. however I seriously think it could weigh a good deal more than that. The front of my bike is heavy as f---.
Similar Products Used:I have briefly tried other forks on my friends bikes. I have riden a Manitou Splice 170mm (which also sucked. WAY too soft...), and a couple other higher end, longer travel Mantiou forks (a Sherman and one other...). I was extremely impressed with a bike I rode at a local bike shop that was equiped with a Fox Talas fork. If you have the option and have the money, Fox seems to be the best out there for most applications.
Bike Setup:Iron Horse Yakuza Aniki (17") with a Manitou Swinger Coil 6-Way rear shock (8.75" x 2.75"; 450lb spring). My 05' Manitou Sherman Slider Plus Fork is in the mail...
Bottom Line:If you are considering upgrading your current fork with this one, forget it... Seriously... Save your money. This fork most likely won't be any better... Unless you ride a Huffy or something else you got from Walmart. Overall this is just a generic fork and performs as such. If they sold a wannabe downhill or freeride bikes at Walmart, this is the fork it would come with.

Submitted by bryan a Downhiller from philadelphia
Date Reviewed: January 16, 2007
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:Lots of travel, seems to be pretty robust when landing hard, spring adjustment works well. Hardly any lateral tire movement.
Weaknesses:Tops out hard with the slightest yank on the handlbars. Leaves a ring of oil around stanctions when landing big jumps.
Similar Products Used:cheaper spinner shock, also topped out like a mutha..
Bike Setup:06 IH yakuza aniki stock
Bottom Line:This fork came on the yakuza. On the first ride, I quickly noticed the top-out issue and with any compression the top seals spewed out what looked like the half the oil in there. I called Spinner and they immediately told me to send it back for a rebuild. Its brand new, I'm not sending it back for a rebuild. So for the first three days I had to clean the oil off the stanctions after each ride. A few rides later, its done loosing oil and you can hear whats left still sloshing around in there. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about the topping out issue. This is a good downhill or dj fork as long as the jumps doing all the work. NOT an urban or trail fork.
