    Favorite Trail:sprain parkway
    Duration Product Used:2 Years
    Purchased At:came on bike
Strengths:This fork handled everything. jumps, 5 FEET, some drops, im a wuss, and of course logs and rocks. has worked well for 1 1/2 years
Weaknesses:in the last half year the lockout stopped working, the rebound adgust got screwed up. it started to top out (rebound to fast) and bottom out.
    Similar Products Used:none so far
Bike Setup:mavic wheels, 2.1 inch tires. lx rear derailer and shifters. hone front derailler and cranks. ario rear shock with lockout
Bottom Line:really good, great feeling, but get a more tough fork if you plan to have it for a loooong time.(i wanted it to last till collage, thats three more years)

    Favorite Trail:HydroCut
    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Purchased At:King Street Cycle
Strengths:Takes a liken keeps on tiken. Length of travel adjustment. Lockout for roading. Easy adjustment.
Weaknesses:Seals starting to leak gonna need to replace. Does not come with manual for self repair. Will do it anyway hopefully won't wreck it. Make sure you follow set up guide if you over dampen on rough terain you could bottom it out this happens because not enough time for full rebound between hits.
Bike Setup:Came on 2006 Brodie Fury.
Bottom Line:Good solid fork for XC. have raced Albion Hills, Lake to Lake 50K, Paris to Ankaster 60K, trail ride Hardwood hills, the Pines, Ride the hydro cut 2 or more times a week. Bottom line this fork stands up to more than it should excellent value. Its not meant for huge drops so don't expect it to last if you use it for this. If your into full downhill or huge drops this fork is not for you. It is however good solid XC fork.

Strengths:light weight, travel adjustment, rebound adjustments, lockout feature.
    Weaknesses:looks
Bottom Line:this fork came installed on my 2006 gt id5. it's beenn great so far (about a year now). do both climbing and downhill and this fork has performed very well over all kinds of terrain. love the fact that you can adjust the travel and rebound...and the lockout feature comes in handy on climbs...and it you do hit a bumb in the road with the lockout engaged it will release before any damage is done. very sweet fork for the price. i'm 230lbs and it's never bottomed out on me.

    Duration Product Used:1 Year
    Price Paid: $185.00
    Purchased At:Ebay
Strengths:I got the U-turn with the lock out. Rides nice, the lockout is cool for going uphill. Also the flexability of the adjustable travel is cool too.
Weaknesses:U-turn knob cracked. Was only $15 at a local shop. Any years knob should work so you can get different colors if you want.
Bike Setup:99 Specialized FSR Sport, Fox Vanilla Air rear, Rock Shox J4 U-Turn fork, Avid BB7 Discs, Crank Brothers Speedy pedals
Bottom Line:Great shock for the price. I don't take big airs, maybe 3' of drop at the most so far but it's held up to everything I've thrown it at so far. Good for cross country/ all mountain who doesnt have hundreds of dollars for a lightweight kick butt fork. could go for the air version to save weight but give up the option to adjust travel on the trail.

Strengths:i would just like to say that the review by julie is a real load. Lateral flex , weak, honey your just fat 120 pounds my arse if youre flexing these that much you need DH forks just to ride to the deli and there not expensive your just a pov fatty craving attention go lose some weight get some friends cry a river and get over it crist sake.
    Weaknesses:Nothing just a little ugly.

    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $200.00
    Purchased At:Ridley's
    Strengths:Adjustable travel, lockout.
Weaknesses:U-Turn knobs feel cheap, though work well.
    Bike Setup:Stock '06 Brodie Fury.
Bottom Line:Great shock. Not sure that the above complaint is valid as it's not a freeride fork and if you're bottoming 125mm out on a regular basis you might want to consider something else. If I were racing seriously I'd probably want something a bit lighter but for recreation this fork is more than enough for me.

U-Turn knobs are plastic and can feel a bit cheap and can also be turned pas the functional extremes if not careful, resulting in a situation where, if you're not familiar with the fork travel, you might damage the mechanism. It even says as much in the manual.

    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $370.00
Strengths:the travel adjustment is easy and "clicky" in its use. the rebound has a wide range of adjustjment and is easy to use. these forks perform very well for their price.
Weaknesses:these forks could be plusher but for the price i played this is no real problem
    Similar Products Used:rockshox judy tt
Bike Setup:2005 giant iguana with j4's, azonic seat, hayes sole's and x-7 derailler and shifters
Bottom Line:i got these forks on sale half a year ago and have ridden them frequently since then. they perform very well considering the price. the adjustments are good (but i dont really use the lockout). i can get the full 125 mm of travel from these forks and like having the travel which i can adjust. compared to my old judy tt's these forks are a dream to ride.
i do find these forks work best when i grease the seals but this does not need to be done that regularly. while not the plushest forks, they perform very well for the price.

    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $200.00
    Purchased At:spokes n' skis
Strengths:very durable...excellent on all types of trails
    Weaknesses:nothing really...excellent fork
Bike Setup:rock shox j4 with 80 to 125mm of travel with remote lockout
Bottom Line:this fork is awsome! i love it. its excellent for every type of riding..if your climbing hit the switch and lock the forks out almost completely...to turn them back on hit a button...you can turn the fork down to 80mm of travel and make it stiff...or turn it up to 125 mm of travel and have it nice and soft to absorb every bump. i ride just about everything...from fast down hills to climbing to jumping off of drops about 5 or 6 feet high. i have a hardtail and the front shock does a lot. i highly recommend this. i have had it for about 6 months...ride the balls off it...and no problems yet. try it out...you wont regret it...!!!!

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
    Price Paid: $200.00
Strengths:NONE unless you ride on the bike path
Weaknesses:IT'S WEAK, Lateral stress and the fork turns on it's own, sticks when bottomed. Had to get the seals repressed after a few rides.
Similar Products Used:single crown Manitou's and an old Marzochi
    Bike Setup:RM XC
Bottom Line:This is my first Rock Shox and after all the big man Rock Shox talk this fork is not worth the money. I got this a few months ago and I'm regreting it big time. It bobs like crazy, has lots of lateral flex and it sticks when bottomed. Upgrading it is essential and going to cost me an arm and a leg. I should have just gotten another manitou cause I'm going to hurt myself on this thing. If your slightly aggresive on the trails (I only weight 120) do not get this fork.

    Favorite Trail:Bear Creek, GA
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $170.00
    Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:U-Turn, well built, looks damn good
Weaknesses:Adjustment knobs feel cheap but still work well
Bike Setup:My son's 05 Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc, large
Bottom Line:I was surprised how well this fork worked, since it's basically the bottom feeder of the Rock Shox line. The U-Turn adjustment is fantastic. This shock works well for nearly all types of trail riding, and with the lockout, makes road riding real pleasant. It's a nice looking fork for a lower end bike, it's not too heavy, has plenty of adjustments, and provides a plush ride over the roughest terrain. It's no Reba, but it really wasn't meant to be. Compared to other forks in this price range, I'd give this one a 5 of 5.
