Strengths: Cheap, takes the bumps fairly well. Came with bke
Weaknesses: Bottums out fairly easily on jumps but can take it if you land softly.
Bottom Line: Good for the budget rider i wouldnt buy them as a upgrade unless you had to. Takes the bumps and jumps but dont be suprised if you brake them or they bottum out.

Strengths: Good damping taking into consideration the price. Road grip is good due to its smooth rebound. The fork can do fine if you know how to adjust the settings according to your weight. I tried some 5 feet jumps and the fork still performs pretty good. Great for downhill.
Weaknesses: Absolutely none except for the usual maitenance.
Similar Products Tried: Rock Shox & Manitou
Bike Setup: All Shimano XT components, Alex Rims, FSA carbon handle bars.
Bottom Line: It is the best fork considering the price compared to other forks.

Strengths: Good value XC short travel forks.
Weaknesses: For my type of riding none yet.
Similar Products Tried: Rock Shox Judy
Bike Setup: 16" ally frame XC set up.
Bottom Line: Why do people keep moaning that it's no good for jumping or free riding. Did the name XCM not give you the idea that is a XC fork? You get one you pay for the price tag this fork does exactly what it says on the tin.

      Duration Product Used: 6 months
      Purchased At: Ray's bikes
Strengths: It's cheap and is relativly smooth
Weaknesses: I broke mine in the first 5 months, they are not to be used on jumps
Similar Products Tried: sr suntour xcm-mlo
      Bike Setup: a Freeride
Bottom Line: It's not to be used at all for jumps or stunts it will just break after the first 3m drop, but it is good for those who just want a bit of cusioning when they ride, oh and for those in australia, the people at ray's are legends they gave me a new set of forks for free when i broke this pair of them.

Strengths: Very good for the money. Weight not excessive, about the same as a Judy J2. Preload adjustment works well enough, lockout is solid. Appearance and finish are good, much better than older Suntour offerings. Rigidity and steering seem OK but then the fork is new so they should be. Fixings are available for both V-brake and disks. During use the fork is quiet.
Weaknesses: Not suited to extreme terrain or jumping, so don't do it.

Bike Setup: Handbuilt on a budget
Bottom Line: I can't really compare with other forks, so these impressions are based solely on riding with this one. This is the 100mm travel version.

I am a fairly heavy rider (over 200 lbs) and I am still within the range of preload adjustment - but not by much. I am nowhere near bottoming out though, using the zip tie test I calculate I have used about half the travel during "normal" riding.

I ride forest trails and fire roads, which I guess is the kind of thing it's designed for. When riding seated I can mostly dial out any bobbing but it leaves the ride a little harsh when moving fast over rough stony ground, nothing excessive though in my limited opinion. When climbing out of the saddle there is about 25mm-30mm of bobbing without the lockout, but this is to be expected. Of course you have the option to lock the fork, but it must be at the top of its travel. Having said that, the sore hands I was getting with my old rigid fork are now a thing of the past.

Basically for an XC bike or ATB / hybrid on a budget, this fork should do fine. To get anything better you would probably have to spend twice the money. If you are freeriding or jumping don't even think about it.
