I used to like this fork. When it worked it was great, but... After riding an year, the fork talas(left)-side started to leak dark oil. I opened the fork and realized the left slidepipe had worn out very badly. I know also couple of other people who have had same problem with Fox forks. This fork is awesome. Full adjsutability is spot on with Fox recommendations, but also fun to tweak for certain circumstances. My most common adjustments are the travel, which is very easy. Lockout is easy to switch on the fly. Very solid feel, adding confidence to sketchy/rocky descents. Rails bermed singletrack like nothing... very responsive. I'd agree completely with a previous reviewers comparison after riding Manitou Black... this fork definitely raises the bar and sets a standard. Only thing "missing" is the Terra Logic valvine (which can be simulated anyway). A friend has the FX100, and has had some problems with the Terra-Logic, so I'm glad not to have to deal with that (when it's working, it's sweet... when it's not (sent back to dealership/Fox twice)...

I love the adjustability. Compression to surpress some of the nose dive during braking; travel adjust for climbing/descending; lockout w/ threshhold for that "platform" feel.
Never loses pressure. '06 introduced the brake cable housing guide, which reduces cable rub. This fork can really take a beating, and still feel like new.
Highly recommend this for the rider that is experiences a full range of varied trails, and want the smooth action of a Fox. Otherwise, the lighter Float 130 is a lighter, less complicated alternative. | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |

Although there is no stable platform valving, the low speed compression tuning does the trick. Fox finally got this feature working on the '06 float/talas forks. It can be fine tuned to eliminate any bobbing while keeping it supple. Also, using lockout on with threshold full open for a quasi platform performance, is kinda cool.
A "must have" fork for your trailbike.

And the blow-off valve is an awesome feature. It locks out until it takes a hit (you can adjust how big of a hit it takes to blow it), then it releases. Awesome feature.
